School had become rough. The essays seemed to never stop coming, not to mention the exams that were only a few weeks away. Feeling stressed was putting it lightly. You felt as if school was smothering you bit by bit. Just chipping away at any ease and happiness you had. Just a few more weeks and then the semester was done. Just a bit more of this madness then you could relax for a bit. That could be manageable.
After finishing up one of the essays, you realized it would be best to get to studying some of the exam materials. Probably best not to save it till the last minute as usual. The door to your dorm opened, revealing Larissa and her boyfriend. Maybe studying here wasn't the best idea while your roommate was necking it with her boyfriend. Even though it was getting late, it would probably be best to head to the library to get at least an hour of studying and maybe a bit more of the next essay done. Packing your bag you left heading towards the library. Larissa told you she'd send a text when she was done.
It wasn't bad out, a bit cold as had just turned spring. Maybe you should have brought your jacket. It was too late to turn back now. The library was only a few blocks away and you rather not walk into Larissa and her boyfriend. You could suffer through the walk. Especially if it meant not failing these classes. Even getting a low grade would suck. Your GPA was really falling behind. You couldn't handle another bad class. A gust of wind blew by, almost pushing you off to the side. Lowering your head and pulling crossing your arms for some warmth, you carried on. You must have been lost in your thoughts because you didn't seem to notice you were walking towards a group of people. Even face planting into one of their backs. The embarrassment came rushing in, "sorry's" were escaping your lips before you could stop them. The man you had bumped into was tall, your face was against the middle of his back. Barely reached his shoulders. Before you could leave and scurry to the library to avoid any more embarrassment. You were met with the man turning around and stopping your attempts to flee.
"Hmm. That's fine, but you should be more careful dear. Wouldn't want a pretty thing like you to get hurt."
His friends began to laugh at his comment. A few voices agreed with his statement. Your eyes looked away from him, trying to ignore his laugh and the others from the large group he was with.
"Oh. Ok."
As the words left your mouth you were gone. Leaving behind a laughing group of strangers. Though what you failed to notice was the way the man that you bumped into had was still staring at you. Continuing to do so as you made your way to your destination.
The library was quiet, most people were either finishing up classes or stopping off somewhere for a late dinner. Meaning there was at least a good hour or so before you would need to relocate due to the wave of newcomers. Finding a nice spot at one of the tables near the back. Guessing being at the back would buy you even more time before more people came in and began to fill the tables near the front. You set up your materials and got to work. It didn't take long for you to find your rhythm, getting some studying in and even creating a thesis for a paper. Maybe a change of place helped you more than you thought it would. It wasn't till you were studying for a different exam that you began to realize people were coming in to begin studying for the night. Grabbing your things you began to head towards one of the private rooms that were available to the students. There should still be some available. As you made your way towards the stairs you heard a familiar laugh. It sounded like the voices and laughs from the group you collided with earlier. Turning around you noticed a group of guys and a few girls walk in through the front doors. They appeared to be chatting loudly, being inconsiderate of those who were actually trying to get work done. Before you could turn your eyes met with one of the members, a nice looking, tall, brunette. You recognized his shirt and pants, it was the guys you bumped into. Your cheeks began to blush, embarrassed about bumping into him. It was stupid sure. It was an accident, but it was still embarrassing. Especially since he had referred to you as cute. Your eyes suddenly met with his. A smile had formed on his lips. You couldn't hear what he was saying to his friends, but as they turned to look over at you. It was probably best to leave and just go study upstairs in one of the rooms. The last thing you needed was some annoying guy trying to flirt with you. Or even having his friends near you with how loud they were.
Luckily there was still quite a few rooms left. Looks like no one wants to be up here. You couldn't blame them, it was creepy and truthfully didn't have the best reception for phones or the internet. Those who took these rooms were usually students who wanted to either nap or try to limit their distractions. After getting comfortable you were once again quickly set up and ready to resume your work. Essay, exam, essay, exam, you kept jumping between them. Hoping you could get a bit of both done. Unfortunately, It wasn't long before you were interrupted by loud voices coming from the hall. Oh no, you just hoped they weren't going to pick a room near you to hang out and continue to bother you. The voices were getting closer and closer. A wave of fear washed over you as you realized the voices sounded similar to the ones from earlier. Please oh please just don't stay anywhere near me, was all you could think. There was a bunch of rooms on this floor and the next. Then the voices were right outside the door, their steps seemed to have paused. Which meant either they were picking the room across the hall or they wanted your room. The door opened revealing the group from before, including the man who had been your victim of carelessness. They all just stared at you, waiting for you to say something.
"Oh, um I'm sorry I'm working in this room."
The group seemed the laugh while the pretty brunette had only offered a smile, stepping in rather than leaving. You tensed up thinking he was going to ask you to leave or just bother you.
"That's fine. I don't mind sharing."
Bother you it was. He had closed the door leaving his friends outside the door.
"Well, I-I just sorta wanted to, uh, be alone."
It wasn't fair that you felt bad for kicking this guy out. He was the weirdo not understanding these rooms were typically used by one, or a small group of students. Groups typically who were working together and you didn't even know him.
"Come on, I just need to study a bit while my friends go finish up some stuff. This room seems big enough for both of us."
He had walked towards you and taken the seat beside you. As much as you wanted to just kick him out, you couldn't. Instead, you chose to just sit silently and pretend he wasn't there.
"I'm Chrollo"
You nodded, hoping he'd get the hint you weren't in the mood to talk. Then the realization of his name hit you. You had heard it before. Chrollo, if you weren't mistaken Chrollo was the name of the student who ran the campus with his gang. Chrollo Lucifer to be exact. He must have noticed the look on your face as he let out a breathy laugh.
"Looks like you've heard of me. Shame I haven't heard of you."
He was waiting for you to give him your name. So you gave your name to him. Chrollo had repeated it back to you.
"hmmm, that's a beautiful name for such a gorgeous girl."
That annoying blush was beginning to return back onto your cheeks. It was true what they said about him, he really did seem sweet with his silver tongue. Turning back to your work you let out a small thanks.
Chrollo began to pull out his laptop from his bag, seeming to actually be participating in school studies. It was silent for a bit, thankfully. Until he begins to slowly move his chair closer to you. Something you tried to ignore. Hoping he would stop and leave the remaining space alone. The silence was unfortunately interrupted by him once again.
"The internet sucks here."
You nodded pointing out these rooms are kinda known to have shit service, but the ones on the floor above are a bit better. Chrollo nodded. Thanking you for the advice. Your assumption that he'd leave was wrong. The poor internet didn't matter.
"I haven't seen you around before. New to campus?"
Chrollo was so close now, you could easily brush up against him. It made you uncomfortable having this stranger so near you.
"No. Just didn't live on campus last year."
Hopefully sedating his questions would mean he would leave you alone sooner. That you were a bore to talk to when you gave such plain and short answers. Though Chrollo had a very different idea in his head. While you were being optimistic about him leaving you alone. He was being optimistic about getting you to ease upon him.
Questions and answers had been passed between the two of you for a while. Your study material and essays were long forgotten. Chrollo was nice, a bit forward, but he seemed interested in you. Everything from the subjects you took, to where you liked to spend your free time. You answered his questions truthfully. Giving him details of your life. Easing up on him as time went on. Assuming he wasn't as bad as you thought. By the time he hands managed to make a move on you, you had been talking and laughing with him for over an hour in the room. He slowly placed his hand on your thigh. Gradually letting it creep up, closer and closer to your core. Attempting to get him to stop, you tried to move your thigh out of his grasp, but rather than getting away from him. Chrollo's hand tightened. His other hands came up to brush your hair away from your face. Tucking it behind your ear.
"Oh, sweetie. Please don't be like that. I'm not going to hurt you."
Chrollo had managed to pull himself even closer. Allowing there to be no wasted space between your bodies.
"Maybe, maybe I should go?"
You wanted to sound like you were sure. That you knew this was wrong, but it came out as a question. As if you weren't sure what you wanted. Of what you should do. Something Chrollo took notice of.
"No. There's no need for that beautiful. Just relax for me"
Before you could object. He brought his face closer to yours. Closing the gap as much as possible. His eyes were warm and fascinating. As if they welcomed you to just come closer and closer. To just let him do what he pleases. His eyes had managed to distract you long enough to allow him to crash his lips against yours. Chrollo was tender, his lips were soft and gentle against yours. A hand flew to his chest in an attempt to push him off, but it was weak. There was no real force being used. He showed no interest in stopping or pulling away.
The kiss had been gentle and sweet. Something that you never considered a man like him was capable of. It was shameful to say, but you wanted more. As if reading your mind he gave you more. Leaning back in to plant his lips on yours again. Devouring them. This time his kiss was filled with want and desperation. Something you had never had before. It was a real kiss, like the ones in movies, like the ones you read about in those shitty romance novels. One that made you melt into it.
Chrollo was tender, his kiss was filled with lust and desire, but he never let it overtake him. He didn't let it get too rough for you. You couldn't help melting into him, into his touches. It was nice, it felt good. Something you'd never done before, you were never really given the time of day by most guys. Which was why it was so odd that such a handsome guy like him would suddenly show so much interest in you. Especially in a library, oh God the library. You two were in a private room at the library. The realization of where you two were caused you to pull away from him.
"Wait. We're in public."
Your face was flushed from the kiss. Chrollo looked around.
"I don't see anyone? Plus sweetie my friends who you saw earlier, they have the floor basically closed off. No one is going to disturb us."
He kept staring into your eyes, waiting for you to understand how closed off the floor was and how no one would know. He saw how little effect his words had on you. You were still looking worried, looking at the door as if someone would come through at any moment. His hands cupped your cheeks, forcing you to look back at him.
"I wouldn't do anything to worry you or make you uncomfortable."
His mouth was soon back on yours, seeing how you seemed to relax at his words. This time the kiss was deeper, his hands began to roam your body. From your waist to your hips, then one of his hands began to trail up to your chest. This was the point you should have pulled away, should have made it clear you weren't gonna do anything in a library room. But you didn't. His lips felt so right, so soft and welcoming. It wasn't till his other hand began to trail up your leg again, getting under your skirt. Pulling away from him trying to move his hand, but he had an iron grip.
"No, I can't. I'm sorry. I really should go."
You weren't even able to get up, Chrollo had his hands keeping you down.
"It's okay sweetie. I understand you're scared. Let me guess never really kissed anyone in public?"
How did he know? Stutters came out of your mouth trying to defend yourself. You hated how condescending he sounded.
"It's cute. So shy and innocent. But you're right. We shouldn't. I doubt a girl like you could keep quiet."
All you could do was nod. Flabergasted how he had the nerve to explain to you why you didn't want it. Of why you two sounded be doing anything in this room. Reasons that weren't your own.
"Good girl, now I'm gonna leave but first give me your phone."
It was stupid but you couldn't stop yourself. Passing the phone over to him. He typed something in and handed it back.
"Now, when I call or text, answer. Got that."
He waited for a response, your small nod was enough for him.
"I'll see you around beautiful, hopefully before our date this weekend."
He gathered his things and headed towards the door, but before he could leave the room he turned to you.
"Try to watch where you're going through. Hate for someone to get hurt."
Something told you the person getting hurt wouldn't be you though. Like that, he left leaving you confused. It took a few moments before you realized he mentioned a date. Looking at your phone is when you saw what he had done. Chrollo texted himself to get your number and as you looked at the message a new one popped up. From him. The text reads 'This Saturday. 7pm. I'll pick you up at your dorm. It's going to be dinner and a movie so dress cute.'
Leaving the library that night you couldn't help, but wonder what was going on. How was this stranger making you feel this way? Especially the Chrollo Lucifer. Turning down this date probably would only lead him to stalk you and go further with his efforts. Though unfortunately for you, the stalking had already started. Chrollo took it upon himself to watch you walk home. To ensure you were safe and to get your dorm number.
