Through the 16 years of Gracie's life living in the same town, she doesn't remember one time she really enjoyed it there.
It was full of snotty teenage girls obsessed with popularity and boyfriends. The boys were no better only looking for a hot girl to be seen with.
It's was all bullshit to Gracie. She'd rather sit in her room writing songs and playing them on her keyboard and guitar, than be out partying with hormonal teenagers.
With being alone all the time with her parents never around she found comfort in the silence. She was in here own world when she was singing.
As if there was no one around her. As if she were floating outside of her own body into another dimension filled with absolutely nothing, but herself.
Sure she was obviously bullied she was the town "loser" that no one ever made acquaintances with. She sat alone at lunch with her earphones in while people stared and laughed.
The bullies obviously never did confront her. Well only after the incident when she beat up some jock who cat called her.
All the girls around hated her since the boys were after her for that mysterious aura she let off.
That's where we have Ashton. One of the few boys who weren't interested in her whatsoever. He hated this town and everyone in it others than his friends.
He had all the girls chasing after him ever step he took. He could breathe and they'd worship him as if he just cured world hunger.
On the outside he was the bad boy that moms didn't want their kids to hang around, but all her really is is a boy who loves his friend and family and music.
Music was him and his friends passion. He and Luke had grown up together and have always wanted to create a band.
Only to the people close to him he was a "loser". Though he was the sweetest boy they'd probably ever meet.
He didn't really appreciate all the attention he got from the girls as all they wanted was a pretty face to stay beside.
Though it sounds sappy he wanted true love for an amazing person who accepts him entirely, not the "love at first sight" crap people made up of their hungry eyes.
Though he was popular he didn't hang out in a big group, since the start it was always just him and Luke no one else.
Everyone wanted to be the one for The Ashton Irwin even if they wish they could, they don't stand a chance...

The routine of waking up by herself was never something Gracie looked forward to. She'd prefer to stay home all day and write songs and never go back to school.
A girl can only dream...
Her parents being the busy people they were are never home they have their morning, afternoon and night shifts which leaves no time to themselves.
Dr's Mr and Mrs Abrams loved their daughter to bits even if they never spend time with her they work so hard to provide everything for her, and she knows that.
She learnt to appreciate the little time they spend together if her parents get off work. And that's a big IF as they almost never do.
Hopping out of bed and straight into the shower is the worst thing ever. With her eyes barely open as the semi-hit water runs over her skin.
The choosing an outfit was never hard she never needed hours to perfect her look and pack on makeup.
Keep it simple; straight cut jeans, a tank top, a jacket and whatever sneakers she picked with her eyes closed. Her hair just thrown back into a claw clip and she walks out her house with her bag slung over her shoulder.
She liked the peaceful 5 minute walk to her school as she did not have her drivers license yet. The street isn't loud with just an occasional car going past.
As soon as she walks through the doors she hears ever separate group. The mean girls gossiping about Ellie's outfit, the jocks talking about the upcoming game, the nerds testing each other for their math test in third period, and the goth kids going on about which metal band is better.
She walks silently to her locker to get her books out as she carelessly dumps them into her bag and zips it up.
She hears footsteps coming her way and as she looks up she is met with an angry Calum Hood.
Calum was the only friend Gracie has had since she was 6. She met him at the ice skating rink when he cut his knee and she gave him an Avengers band aid and the pair have been friends ever since.
"You said you would help me with my song Gracie, where the hell did you disappear off to?!" He practically screamed in her face.
"Hey, it's not my fault you went to go talk to some dude and left me there for twenty minutes! I wasn't going to sit and wait I have stuff to do." She says back to him in a way calmer tone than he has used talking to her.
But "stuff to do" she means her job. She works at the local music shop, mainly to listen to music when she was supposed to be working or play something when the store was empty.
"Oh, I forgot you had a job. I still don't understand why your parents are rich?" Calum says liking confused though she had explained to him many times.
"Just because my parents have money doesn't mean I need to live off of them. When I leave this shitty town I need to know how to live off of my own money not my parents." She says letting out a sigh in annoyance.
"Dont you dare sigh at me, Gr-" Calum voices out just before the bell.
"I have English I gotta go meet me in the music class at lunch." Gracie says walking backwards to her class before fully turning and pushing through the crowd of teenagers to get to class.
As she walks through the door she goes directly to the back to sit where she always sits. It's the same for all of her classes.
As the rest of her class floods in and takes their seats she takes out her song book and try's to finish something she'd been working on.
"Okay class, let's get to learning-" their teacher says after waltzing in before she was cut off by groans from half the class.
She sighs before sitting behind her desk "Fine I don't have the energy for this I want you to work on homework for your other classes, no phones if I see one I will take it and take 100 selfies on it. Are we clear?"
"Yes ma'am." The class choruses back to her.
"Then let's get to it shall w-" she says with a clap of her hands before being cut off the second time that morning when two boys stumble in.
"Sorry we're late Miss Parker, we got locked in the bathroom-" a devilish Ashton Irwin breathes out in between pants.
"How do you- never mind. Take your seat Mr Hemming let's have you next to Audrey in the front here, and Mr Irwin next to Gracie as the back." She declares pointing towards their seats.
Gracie doesn't even bother to look up but instead keeping on writing in her book with her eyebrows furrowed and her bottom lip between her teeth.
She still looks down at her book but heard the chair beside her scrape against the floor before someone sits in it. She can then feel eyes on her so she turns toward the boy beside her.
"Can I help you?" She says seeming rather annoyed.
"No- uh I'm uh- I'm Ashton." They boy trips over his words.
"I know who you are. We've been in the same class since pre- school." The girl states looking back to what she was writing.
"Right I know that, Gracie." He says still staring directly at her. He hears a small scoff escape her clearly directed at him.
"What are you doing?" He asks taking a small peak over her shoulder.
"None of your business, Irwin." She mutter pulling her book towards herself so he can't read what's written on the pages.
Examining to cover he noticed in bad handwriting the words
"Gracie's song book,
DO NOT TOUCH!!"
"You write songs?" He questions in a curious tone that Gracie finds quite annoying.
She just sighs and chooses to ignore him and continue writing, more like doodling in the margin, in her book keeping one of her arms placed up as a barrier so he doesn't try look at what she's doing.
"I write songs too." He continues hoping she might reply.
"I don't think I asked." She mutters sounding greatly annoyed.
"I could show you them if you'd like." He says trailing off as he grabs a tattered book out of his bag.
This gets her attention as she turns toward her with curiosity in her when he flips the pages skimming over them as if he were looking for something.
"Here." He says pointing to a page with messily written words sprawled on the lines. "It's not quite perfect but it is getting there."
"Another day
Of painted walls and football on the TV
No one sees me
I fade away
Lost inside a memory of someone's life
It wasn't mine
I was already missing
Before the night I left
Just me and my shadow and all of my regrets
Who am I? Who am I?
When I don't know myself
Who am I? Who am I?
Invisible"
"This is really good what's it called." She mutter out of pure adoration still staring down at the lyrics.
"It's called 'invisible', I wrote it about how everyone only believes what they see which is not the real me." He says even with a small blush that's barely noticeable to the girl.
"Its great I could show you a song I've been working on too." She says as she opens up on the page she had been just writing on.
"Pictures of the old us got me feelin' older
Just thought you should know, I never wanted closure
But you had no problem leavin'
Now I'm the one to feel it
I just can't believe you don't know what I'm feeling
Guess you got the best of this
Pickin' up the pieces, you just wanna leave 'em
Killing me a little bit
And I hate the way you love me
And I hate that I still care
Funny how you feel like we would ever talk again
How could you think I'd be your friend?
I'm sure you're doin' fine, but I don't wanna hear it
And if I left my t-shirt, you can keep it
I don't wanna see you again if it's different
'Cause I'll only see all the things that I'm missin'
And I should've cut all the ties, but I didn't
I didn't let go, mmh-mmh-mmh
I just can't believe you don't know what I'm feeling
Guess you got the best of this (Guess you got the best of this)
Pickin' up the pieces, you just wanna leave 'em
Killing me a little bit (Killing me a little bit)
And I hate the way you love me
And I hate that I still care (I still care)
Funny how you feel like we would ever talk again
How could you think I'd be-
You had no problem leavin'
Now I'm the one to feel it
I just can't believe you don't know what I'm feeling
Guess you got the best of this (Guess you got the best of this)
Pickin' up the pieces, you just wanna leave 'em
Killing me a little bit (Killing me a little bit)
And I hate the way you love me
And I hate that I still care (I still care)
So funny how you feel like we would ever talk again
How could you think I'd be your friend?"
"It's called friend." Gracie mutters to him as he goes over the lyrics.
"You're extremely talented." He states in awe for the song.
"I've just been messing around with the lyrics with Cal." She says in a daze tapping her finger to the beat of which the song goes.
"Well maybe you two could come and practice some songs with me and my friend Luke we've been trying to form a band but no one seems ti like the idea." Ashton says speaking really quickly and excitedly.
"I'll speak to Cal about it I guess." She says thinking it over.
Just then the bell rings dismissing the class.
"Just message me if you just think it's a good idea." He says slipping her a piece of paper that more than likely contains his phone number.
All she could think in that moment was.. why would Ashton Irwin ever speak the the schools deemed biggest "loser"?
A/N- hi guys I'm so excited for this books! You should listen to Gracie's albums "minor" and "this is what it feels like" she has such an incredible voice and I'm in love with her.
