What am I doing on the couch? I thought to myself as I woke up the next morning. I heard bacon cooking, and walked into the kitchen.
"Smells great babe, what else are we-" but I stopped mid-sentence. The fact that I couldn't smell any bacon should have been a pretty strong indication that there wasn't any being cooked, but I had just woken up. Cora wasn't in the kitchen, so where was that sound coming from? I listened closer, and realized that it was coming from.....
My bathroom? I thought. I made my way up the stairs, and sure enough, the sound grew louder. I opened the door to the bathroom, and felt the smile show up on my face.
"I thought you were makin' bacon." I said, and noticed for the first time that my voice sounded deeper in the morning.
"You wish. After I made dinner last night, you get to make breakfast." Cora replied, poking her head out from behind my dark green shower curtain.
"After you made dinner last night? If I remember, I'm the one who slow roasted the pasta in garlic. At your request." I said smugly. Cora just stuck out her tongue, so I rolled my eyes and left the bathroom. "And make it light! We're going to Oregon today remember?" She called.
