Just Between You and Me

Penelope's POV:
I sat in another technicians meeting this morning at 9:00am sharp. I could never focus on this stuff, the fact that I already know everything, and it's so boring.
But, my mind also drifted off to another subject. Derek. He's been gone for months on end working on an undercover case. He's gone to Texas to bust a huge drug shipping scandal. I didn't know when he was going to be back, but I'll be missing my other half, my soulmate, my boyfriend.
At that moment, I felt my phone vibrate. I checked the screen. "Sir Hotch" I opened it and it read: Meet me by the elevator ASAP. All the questions came flooding. What does he want? Did he find out something about me? Did something happen? Why me? Did something happen to Derek?
I quickly jump up, startling the others. "Mrs. Garcia, you have to stay." I shot the instructor a look,"My Unit chief just told to meet him as soon as possible, and I'm not going to disobey him." "Well, can he just wait a few minutes?" "You want to tell him that?"
And with that, I dashed out the room towards the elevators where I find Hotch, waiting for me. Once he spotted me, he pressed the elevator button down as I asked," What is it sir." The elevator arrived and I followed him inside. "There's someone here for you." And with that my body was struck with fear.
We got down to the first floor and walked out the doors. As soon as I stepped out I saw Derek. "Oh my god." I whisper to myself as tears of joy rush to my eyes. He saw me and that familiar warm smile of his greets me. I began to cry and ran to him. He catches me in his arms and squeezes me tight into his chest.
"God, I missed you so much Baby Girl." I cried harder into him, hearing those sweet words again. "Me too, Baby Boy." He pulls me out of his arms and plants a passionate kiss onto my lips. His hands slid down to my waist, pulling me into him as my arms wrap around his neck.
My body shuddered in pleasure and excitement. Oh how I missed those lips of his. Just another thing I love about him. As soon as it started, he released. He looked into my eyes and I smiled shyly. He wipes away the tears staining my face with his thumb.
He looks up and I remembered Hotch was with me when I came out here. "I'll let you two enjoy the rest of the day." He waves us goodbye with a slight smile and headed back into the building. We stood for a couple more seconds in each other's arms. I felt my heart float with joy just being back with him.
Derek's soothing voice speaks,"I have a surprise for you." I look up at him,"Really? It better be a good one this time. You remember last time." The last time he had a surprise for me is when he almost burned our apartment trying to cook for me. He laughs,"Trust me, you'll love it." I giggle and say,"Ok."
We held hands to the black SUV waiting for us in the parking lot. We got in and he drove us to the park, where we had our first unofficial date. "What are we doing here?" I asked. "You'll see." I look at him and he winks at me. He's up to no good.
He helps me out the SUV and took my hand and guided me to the bench that we first kissed at. "You remember this?" "How could I forget." I say smiling at him. He smiles back and says,"Stay here." "Where are you going?" "Nowhere you need to worry about."
He says kissing my hand. He runs off and I watch him as he gets farther away. Once he gets out of sight, I decided to sit on the bench. Soon after, a woman comes up to me and hands me a dog tag. She smiles and goes about her way.
It read: Go to the spot where we first played tag. I knew exactly where that was. I walk a ways down the sidewalk and walk to the grassy area by a huge tree, the tag spot we called it. A man was waiting for me. He came up to me and handed me a small dog collar. "Attach the dog tag to it first." He told me.
After I did that, I read the inside of the collar. It read: Go to the spot where we watch the stars together. I walk and walk to a small hill and a dog and their owner walk up to me. The dog had a frisbee in its mouth that had writing on it.
It read: Now go to the "Ask shack" and you'll be done. I sped walked to the gazebo where Derek asked me to be his. I called it the ask shack because of that. I got there and it was deserted. A yorkie puppy came running up to me with a sign around its neck.
I picked up the puppy and it immediately licked all over my cheek. The sign read: Marry me already will ya? I was puzzled for a few seconds until I saw Derek on one knee in front of me. He opened up a small black box and I saw a silver ring with diamonds along the sides with one big one in the middle. I gasp,"Oh my god." I whisper to myself.
I look into his eyes and say,"Yes. Yes, Derek, yes." I began to cry once again and he got up to hug me. A crowd had gathered around us and they applauded. He slid the ring onto my finger and I cried even harder. He raised my chin up and he said,"I love you, Baby Girl."
I smiled and said,"I love you too, Baby Boy." He kisses me and I kissed him back. The puppy barked and squirmed in my arm. I giggled and we played with it, letting it run around the park for a while before going home.
Once we got settled in on the couch, I asked him,"Did you plan all of that? Just for me? And even buy a dog for me?" He chuckled and said,"Sure did. I got back yesterday and planned all of it this morning, while you were working. Hotch knew that's why he brought you to me. I couldn't wait to see your face when I opened the box."
He smiled and I kissed his cheek,"It's beautiful baby." "Not as beautiful as you are." I blushed and he kissed my cheek. "So what're we naming this little gal here." I rubbed the puppy's head as she peacefully slept in my lap. "How about, Baby Girl."
I look at him and he looked back at me,"No." I burst out laughing as Derek gave me his sad face. "I'm kidding baby." I slowly kiss him and and brightens up. "I like it." "Good." He kisses me cheek and we sit on the couch together for the rest of the day, cuddling with Baby Girl.
