Steve, Sam, and Bucky had arrived at the car garage that was nearby the Leipzig-Halle Airport in Schkeuditz, Germany. There was a van already there as Steve pulled the car into a parking spot a couple yards away from the van.
As the three men got out of their car, Clint got out of the van and walked up to Steve. With Wanda and Pietro getting out as well.
As they did this, another black car pulled in that had tinted windows. It pulled into a parking spot on the other side of the van.
"Captain," Clint said as he walked up to Steve.
"You know I wouldn't have called if I had any other choice," Steve responded as they shook hands.
"Hey man, you're doing me a favor," Clint said as he looked at Wanda behind him. "Besides, I owe a debt."
Steve looked at Wanda. "Thanks for having my back," He said.
"It was time to get off my ass," Wanda replied.
"No kidding," Pietro commented as Y/N walked over to the group with Felicia, Dick, and Cindy behind him.
"You have a talent for making a mess, don't you?" Y/N asked Steve in a joking manner. "Nothing that we can't handle though. We've been through worse."
"I'm glad you're here Y/N," Steve replied as the two shook hands.
Y/N turned to Dick and Cindy. "I got us a few more hands. Dick Grayson and Cindy Moon," Y/N said as he turned back to Steve. "Nightwing and Silk."
"I saw you guys on YouTube," Pietro commented as Wanda slapped him on the arm.
Y/N ignored the comment. "There would have been a third, but Tony got him first," Y/N said. "He might have a couple more surprises as well."
Steve looked at the two, feeling like he should give them one last option to leave if they wanted to. "You both can still walk away. No one's forcing you to do this," He told them.
"We know," Cindy said.
"We are here because we feel it is where we need to be," Dick added. "Also, hug fan."
Steve smiled as he turned back to Clint. "How about our other recruit?" He asked.
Clint turned to the van. "He's rarin' to go," He said as he opened the door. "Had to put a little coffee in him, but he should be good."
As the door finished opening, the sleeping man was reveal to them as he jolted awake.
Steve turned to Sam, who was standing next to him, as Sam crossed his arms.
Scott Lang got out of the van while asking, "What timezone is this?"
"Come on. Come on," Clint said as he pushed Scott forward.
He then saw Steve and shook his hand. "Captain America," He said in realization.
"Mr. Lang," Steve greeted as Scott still shook Steve's hand.
"It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long. Wow! This is awesome! Captain America," Scott rambled as he turned behind him to see Wanda, having stopped shaking Steve's hand a moment before. "I know you, too. You're great!" He turned back to Steve and put his hands onto the super soldier's shoulders. "Jeez. Ah, look."
"This is getting awkward," Dick whispered.
"Getting?" Felicia whispered back. "I though we were already there."
"I wanna say, I know you know a lot of super people, so... thanks for thinking of me," Scott continued as he then noticed Sam. "Hey, man!"
"What's up, Tic Tac?" Sam greeted.
"Uh, good to see you," Scott added as he looked down for a second. "Look, what happened last time when I..."
"What happened last time?" Dick whispered as Pietro had walked over to Felicia as they talked.
"It's a great story. I have the video, too," He told him.
"There's a video?" Dick asked.
"It was a great audition, but it'll... it'll never happen again," Sam told Scott.
"They tell you what we're up against?" Y/N asked as Scott turned to him.
"Y/N Wayne! I, um, didn't expect you here. I mean, I know you fund the Avengers and all of that, but it's not like you're Batman or anything thing," Scott nervously stated.
No one said anything for a moment after the fact that Scott had figured out that Y/N was Batman. Probably as a joke, but still. As this happened he realized something. Particularly, the way that Batman's exposed mouth looked when compared to Y/N Wayne's.
"Holy shit! That's great," He commented. "I mean I was just joking but still... My lips are sealed, by the way. Um, what was the question again?"
"You know what we are going against?" Y/N asked.
"Something about some... psycho-assassins?" Scott answered like a question.
Steve nodded. "We're outside the law on this. So, if you come with us, your a wanted man," Steve told him.
Y/N chuckled softly. "We're all criminals. The only difference is that Tony has a boss," Y/N commented.
"Yeah, well, what else is new?" Scott commented.
"We should get moving," Bucky pointed out.
"We got a chopper lined up," Clint said.
A man on the P.A. system then started to sound the alarm to evacuate the airport while speaking.
"They're evacuating the airport," Bucky told them.
"Stark," Sam pointed out.
"Stark?" Scott asked, not understanding the whole picture.
"Suit up," Steve told the group.
Steve Rogers was running to the helicopter in the center of the airport's parking area. He was wearing his Captain America suit as he held his shield.
A green colored arrow with an attachment on the tip then hit the helicopter's motor and disabled it. Iron Man and War Machine then landed in front of Steve a few seconds afterword.
"Wow, it's so weird how you run into people at the airport," Tony said as his helmet retracted into the suit as he looked at Rhodey. "Don't you think that's weird?"
"Definitely weird," Rhodey replied.
"Hear me out, Tony," Steve said, hoping that Tony would listen to reason. "That doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all this."
Black Panther then leapt in and landed onto the ground. "Captain," He said.
"You Highness," Steve acknowledged.
Tony walked behind Rhodey while speaking. "Ross gave me 36 hours to bring you in. That was 24 hours ago. Can you help a brother out?"
A smoke bomb landed onto the ground, a few yards away from Steve. When the smoke dissipated, Y/N was standing there in his Batsuit.
"You're after the wrong man, Tony," Y/N said.
"And I thought you had my back, Bats. Now I had to make other plans. You're not the only one that has backup plans," Tony said to Y/N before turning back to Steve. "Your judgment is askew. Your old war buddy killed innocent people yesterday."
"And there are five more super soldiers just like him," Steve rebutted. "I can't let the doctor find them first, Tony. I can't."
Y/N noticed Natasha behind Steve. "Steve..." She said as he turned to see her. "You know what's about to happen. Do you really wanna punch your way out of this one?"
"'You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain'," Y/N said using the same quote that Harvey Dent once said. "We can do those things, that way others won't have too."
"All right, I've run out of patience," Tony chimed in. "Underoos! Archer 2.0!"
An arrow was shot past Y/N's head as a warning shot, while a web shot down at Captain America's shield. It was pulled away as his hands were then webbed up with Spider-Man landing on top of a luggage vehicle with shield on his right arm.
The man who had shot the arrow at Batman stepped out of the shadows behind Tony as he walked forward, revealing to be the Green Arrow.
'Oliver Queen,' Y/N thought. 'Hero of Star City. Been watching him for years. Didn't know that Tony knew him. So the only question is, where's Black Canary?'
(Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.)
"Nice job, kid," Tony complimented.
"Thanks," Spider-Man replied. I could have stuck the landing a little better, it's just the new suit. It's nothing, Mr. Stark. It's perfect. Thank you."
"Yeah, we don't really need to start a conversation," Tony added.
Steve took a look at the younger hero. "You've been busy," He said.
"And you've been a complete idiot. Both of you," Tony snapped. "Dragging in Clint, rescuing Wanda from a place she doesn't even want to leave, a safe place. I'm trying to keep-"
Tony sighed with a pause.
"I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart," Tony added.
"You did that when you signed," Steve.
"Maybe it's time to understand that the Avengers has outlived it's usefulness," Y/N said as his cape was wrapped around him.
"You're over stating things, don't you think?" Tony asked back.
"No, I don't," Y/N said firmly. "And I have an alternative."
"If your alternative is to disband the Avengers, think you are forgetting all the good that we do," Tony added.
"'Did'," Y/N said. "Past tense. Look at what happened the past few days. All that matters is the mission. And in our sight of it, you all have forgotten that. The U.N. is a roadblock to that mission. Then to remove it, is to remove the Avengers."
This got Oliver thinking. The Accords were for the Avengers, but what if there was another way, another team?
"Okay, we're done!" Tony shouted. "You are gonna turn Barnes over, you're gonna come with us. Now! Because it's us! Or a squad of J-SOC guys... with no compunction about being impolite. Come on."
"We found it," Sam said over the comms. "Their Quinjet's in hanger five, North runway."
Y/N grabbed a flash bomb from his belt and threw it at Green Arrow, who had no time to look away. Steve raised his hands as an arrow cut the webbing that once bound his hands. Tony brought his helmet back up around his head, as he looked to see here Barton was located.
"Silk," Y/N said into the comms.
"All right, Lang," Steve added.
Cindy Moon wearing her red, black, and white Silk suit, leapt in as she shot webbing from her fingers at Spider-Man's eyes.
Not being able to sense this, the webbing hit him. "Oh, that's that this feels like," He said.
Ant-Man was hiding on Steve's shield from the start, grew back to normal size while performing a back flip to kick Spider-Man.
"Whoa! W-what the hell was that?" Rhodey asked.
Lang landed next to Steve and offered him the shield back. "I believe this is your, Captain America," He said.
"Oh, great," Tony said as his HUD showed him two figures on the parking deck. "All right, there's three on the parking deck. One of them's Maximoff, I'm gonna grab her. Watch for Speedy Gonzales, he's probably here too."
"Got three in the terminal Wilson, Barnes, and an unknown third," Rhodey told Tony.
"Barnes is mine!" T'Challa exclaimed as he started to run off.
Steve threw his shield at Rhodey before he started to fight T'Challa. Spider-Man swung away to go deal with Sam and Bucky. Silk went to the same location to even things out. Felicia went to Clint and Wanda's postion along with Pietro. Y/N noticed that Scott and Natasha had started to fight as well, but he had Green Arrow to deal with.
Y/N was about to charge Green Arrow when a sonic cry hit him and he fell to the ground, holding his ears.
"Alfred!" Y/N said on the comms. "Block that frequency!"
"Right away, sir," Alfred said as he used the portable Batcomputer to find the frequency of the sound and then block it with the comms.
"Get you next round, Bats," Green Arrow said to Batman before he grabbed and arrow from his quiver to grapple away to help Spider-Man.
A baton hit Black Canary in the throat, stopping the sonic cry as she grabbed her throat. The baton then landed into the hand of Nightwing as he dropped down next to Y/N while showing that the batons could hold an electrical current.
"Looks like you need a hand," He said to Y/N as Batman got up.
"Go help Falcon and Barnes," Y/N told Nightwing as he then left. During that, Black Canary had taken out a collapsible staff as she held it behind her back, since she wouldn't be able to us her powers for a while.
(Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Canary)
Black Canary ran up to Batman and swiped the staff at him. Y/N ducked and grabbed the end of the staff with a hand. Pulled it to him in a quick motion, he was able to her Black Canary off balance.
However, she used the momentum of the pull to kick at Y/N. He blocked it with both arms as he pushed the leg back to the ground and followed up with a couple of punches.
Y/N also recolonized some of the techniques that he had learned from the League of Shadows.
'Not her,' Y/N thought as the two fought. 'I never saw any women in the League. Oliver must have taught her, but who taught him? I would have noticed if he was there.'
Y/N leapt back onto his hands, as he used his feet to kick her hands that were throwing punches at him. Y/N then landed onto the ground and punched her head and then ran off before she could get back up.
Clint and Wanda had just distracted Iron Man as they ran away with the rest of Steve's team near them.
"There's our ride," Clint said as he pointed at the Quinjet.
"Come on!" Steve called out as he ran in front of Clint and Wanda, after getting with the rest of the team.
Y/N leapt over a wooden box as he ran next to him.
A yellow beam then cut into the ground before them, making them come to a stop.
"Captain Rogers. Batman," Vision said as he hovered in the air above them. "I know you believe what you're doing is right. But for the collective good, you must surrender now."
On the ground under him, Iron Man landed with War Machine. Along with Black Widow, Black Panther, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Spider-Man as Vision spoke.
Behind the line that Vision made onto the ground were Batman, the Black Cat, Captain America, Falcon, the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, the Scarlet Watch, Quicksilver, Ant-Man, Nightwing, and Silk.
Team Iron Man and Team Captain America.
"What do we do, Cap?" Sam asked.
Steve knew that he had to stop Zemo. No matter the cost. Even if that meant having to go through Tony to do so.
"We fight," Steve answered.
Captain America's side walked forward, making Iron Man's side to the same.
Each side's walking progressed into a running and then a sprint. Those on each side took to the sky and then both sides collided.
Tony brought a fist down to Steve, who used his shield to block the attack.
Wanda used her powers to toss crates at Spider-Man with the Spider being able to dodge them. Falcon flew in the air as War Machine flew after him. Natasha took on Ant-Man while Clint shot arrows at Vision with Pietro throwing pieces of broken boxes at Vision as well, speeding around the area. Black Panther charged at Bucky as they started to engage in combat.
Silk then went after Spider-Man, as Nightwing and Black Cat fought Black Canary, who was still unable to use her powers.
And Batman got to fight Green Arrow.
"Told you I'd get you in the next round, Bats," Oliver said as he put his bow onto his back. "We both know the kind of training each other had, so let's go old school."
Y/N smirked as they both got into a fighting stance. "Come on," Y/N said as the two charged each other.
Green Arrow jumped up with a spinning kick, as Y/N blocked it. He countered by grabbing Oliver's arm and then flipping him over. Oliver then used the momentum to pull Y/N down with him, and double kick him back.
Y/N slid back as he got back onto his feet. "You're as skilled as I thought," Oliver commented.
"We aren't that different... Oliver," Y/N said.
"Not surprised," Oliver said. "Stark said that it was your job to know everything like that. Shall we continue?"
"Let's," Y/N said as he attacked first, throwing a few punches at him. Oliver was able to block some of them, but a few got in before he was able to start attacking as well. "I didn't think you would support the accords."
"I don't," Oliver said while they fought. "I owed Stark a favor, plus. I did want to know who would win between us. I have a proposition for you, once this fight is over."
Y/N shoved Oliver back, wanting to hear what he had to say. "What proposition?"
"You said that the U.N. was in the way of the Avengers, but what if there was another team of heroes by a different name?" Olive suggested.
Y/N and Oliver had finished their fight with a meeting set to happen after this current fight. The two were evenly matched, without Oliver using is bow, so the decided to end their fight in a draw.
Y/N looked as the now divided Avengers fought each other in a civil war. He figured that not all of them were going to be able to walk away from this.
But he thought of that as he changed comms channels.
"Alfred," He said into the comms. "Remotely start up the Flying Fox."
"Of course, sir," Alfred responded.
Y/N changed back to the team's channel. "We got to go. The doctor's probably there by now," He said.
"We got to draw out the flyers," Steve said as he then spoke to Bucky. "I'll take Vision, you get to the jet."
"No, you get to the jet," Sam chimed in. "Both of you. The rest of us aren't getting out of here."
"As much as I hate to admit it, if we;ere gonna win this one, some of us might have to lose it," Clint added.
"This isn't the real fight, Steve," Sam added.
"I'm not leaving the kids behind," Y/N said. "I have an escape plan."
Hearing this, Steve decided to go along with it. "Alright, Sam, what's the play?"
"We need a diversion, something big," He said.
"I got something kind of big," Scott added. "But I can't hold it very long. On my signal, run like hell. And if I tear myself in half... don't come back for me."
"He's gonna tear himself in half?" Bucky and Dick asked as Y/N looked at the monitor in his gauntlet, with the progress of the Flying Fox's powering up.
"You're sure about this, Scott?" Steve asked.
Scott told them that he's done this only once as he then grew into a giant, grabbing War Machine's leg in the process. The adult members stayed as Batman told the newer members to follow him as the others covered their escape.
Steve and Bucky ran to the Quinjet, as a tower started to fall to block their path. Wanda used her powers to keep it afloat just long enough for the two to make it into the hanger. Once they got in though, they were faced with the Black Widow.
"You're not gonna stop," Natasha said to Steve.
"You know I can't," Steve responded.
She raised her arm as she activated her Widow's bite. "I'm not gonna regret this," She said with a smirk.
Steve knew what she meant, since she never agreed with the Accords. She aimed and shot at the Black Panther, giving the two a change to escape.
"Go," She told the two.
Steve nodded and ran to the Quinject with Bucky behind him. Natasha stayed and kept on shooting T'Challa until the jet was able to fly away as did the Flying Fox with Y/N, Felicia, Dick, Cindy, Wanda, and Pietro once Pietro sped Wanda away after she held the tower for Steve and Bucky.
In the aftermath of the Quinjet and Flying Fox escaping, Rhodey was critically hit in the cross fire of Vision aiming at Sam. Sam, Clint, and Scott were also arrested by Thaddeus Ross and the authorities.
"You played this wrong, Tony," Y/N said at the compound in a normal outfit with Natasha there as well. Tony had just told them about Rhodey's current condition.
"Me?" Tony asked as he put his hand on his chest. "You're the one to stab me in the back. Making me call Oliver and Laurel."
"I never wanted to sign the damn thing. I only did so that way Gotham wouldn't be after Y/N," Natasha snapped back.
"I could've taken them," Y/N commented.
"Boy, it must be hard to shake the whole double agent thing, huh?" Tony asked. "It sticks in the DNA."
"Are you incapable of letting go of your ego for one goddamn second?" Natasha asked Tony in anger.
He looked out of the window. "T'Challa told Ross what you did. I'm choosing to remember the kid that lost his parents in not telling Ross who that Batman is and where the others are, because the three of us know where they are," Tony said while looking at Natasha. "But they'e coming for you."
"I'm not the one that needs to watch their back," She said before walking away.
"You know? We both agree that the kids don't belong on the Raft. I want you to know, you're the one to break the Avengers apart. Not Steve, you," Y/N said as he then walked off, but he stopped by the door. "Thank you though. For not telling Ross."
"Your life was ruined once," Tony said still looking out the window. "I'm not going to be the one to do it again."
"If you go after them, Steve and Bucky. Remember it wasn't him. It was H.Y.D.R.A.," Y/N added.
"Wasn't who? Barnes?" Tony asked.
"I can't tell you more," Y/N said remembering the promise he made to Steve. "It's something that someone should have told you before though."
And Y/N walked out of the room.
Y/N drove Natasha to an airport. She had decided that she needed to leave since she was now on the run. Being in Wayne Manor wasn't an option either, because of Ross and that Y/N saw somewhat still 'good' in his eyes. Since he didn't know about Y/N and Batman being the same person.
She was going to smuggle herself in a plan to Albany before going to Norway where she had a contact there.
"I'll meet you in a couple of weeks," Y/N said as they got closer to the airport. "I wish I could come with you."
"We both know that if Y/N Wayne disappeared it would be suspicious," Natasha pointed out.
"I know, I know," Y/N said.
"But that's not the point," They both said.
"What did I do to deserve you?" Natasha asked with her softer side coming out a little.
"'Not a damn thing'," Y/N quoted her saying. "It's what I did to deserve you."
"You're sweet, you know that?" She asked as the car pulled up to the side of the airport. Going through the front doors was not an option for either of them. "One question though."
"What?"
"What is Yelena looking into for you?" Natasha asked.
Y/N wanted to tell her, but he knew that she didn't need the added stress right now at all times with the fact that the Red Room might not be destroyed like she thought. "Don't worry about it," He said. "If something comes up I'll let you know."
"Okay," She said as she opened the door to the car.
"I love you," Y/N said as the two closed in for a kiss.
"And I love you more, my Dark Knight," Natasha said as she got out and closed the door behind her.
Y/N sighed as he then drove away from the spot. It would be a few days before the paper work would go through for Dick and Cindy to live at Wayne Manor, since Matt Murdock was also looking into the fact that the Accords were illegal. Ross had no authority to tell the team to sign it in three days or retire. It was just taking time to gather other points of law to blackmail him with.
Y/N did wonder, where was Yelena? It has been too long without a response or anything from her. He was just hoping that the terrible hadn't happened.
One day later.
Y/N Wayne and Oliver Queen sat at a table in the Batcave, starting their meeting.
"You said something about a different team," Y/N said. "The question is what makes them different from the Avengers, so another Civil War doesn't happen."
"I was inspired from your speech about the mission," Oliver said. "We can't let them ever forget what that mission is."
Y/N thought for a second. "Then we put it in the name of the team. They will never be able to forget if it's in the name."
"I agree," Oliver added.
There was a pause as both men thought about a good name. Y/N snapped his fingers. "The Justice League," He said. "That's the name and the mission inside of it."
"That could work, but I want to show you something I found in the servers at the Lexcorp building in Star City. I had to leave the other one of the boy in blue," Oliver said as he took out an arrow with a USB and plugged it into his laptop as he turned it so Y/N could see. "I'm only showing you the interesting stuff."
Oliver opened the USB in the files. The only file was titled: META_HUMAN.
"What the hell's a Meta Human?" Y/N asked as Oliver opened the file.
Inside were five more files. One that looked like two 'W' letter stacked on top of each other, another of a 'C' letter with a solid circle in the center of it, a lightening bolt, an 'A' letter with the center line missing, and an 'O' letter with two horizontal lines on the top and bottom of it.
"Don't know, but it would seem that Lex has been looking into them," Oliver said. He clicked on the two 'W' letters as the file opened up.
Inside was a picture of a woman getting out of a car, a video of the same woman making an ATM transaction, and final picture of the same woman in some kind of battle armor in 1918, WW I.
"You know who that is?" Oliver asked as Y/N looked at the picture. "I know you didn't have a normal education-"
"The Wonder Woman, World War 1," Y/N cut him off. "But that's impossible. She should be dead by now. Has she shown up again?"
"Last major time was in 1984, from what I could find. She's credited to a battle won in World War 2, but nothing to confirm it," Oliver explained.
"Show me the lightening file next," Y/N said to Oliver as he closed the file and opened the one that Y/N asked.
Inside of this file was quite a few videos of the Flash, a newer hero that operated in Central City. He was like Quicksilver, a speedster.
"I actually know him," Oliver said. "He's a good friend. He works in CSI."
Oliver then clicked on the 'A' with the missing center line after closing the Flash's file.
There was a video of a man underwater with a trident, as he looked like he was about to strike the submarine that had the camera on it down before the camera cut out.
"What's the one with the 'C'?" Y/N asked.
"I still have no idea what I'm looking at with this one," Oliver said as he closed Aquaman's file.
In this file was a video of a few years before. Something strapped to a turning table and a doctor. The doctor was documenting what was going on. A circular orb was on the front table later in the video and it then started to levitate. It seemed to build arms and legs for the Cyborg that was on the table before it vanished in a purple light.
Oliver then opened the last file as Y/N was at a loss of words from the video before.
In this file, there was a man in a green and white suit as he fought with a green light coming from his ring. When he had to charge up his light, he called himself the Green Lantern.
"That's the last of them," Oliver said as Y/N leaned back into his chair.
"And Superman," Y/N said, noting the one hero that was missing from the group. "It's a good start, but the world needs to feel what it is like without a team of heroes right now. I suggest that we do talk to them, if we can, but not make anything official to the general public about this team. Let us organize in the shadows. With the Avengers divided, our world is open to new threats. We can't allow that to happen."
"Agreed," Oliver said. "Since I know Flash, I'll talk to him."
"Makes sense," Y/N said. "I'll talk to Wonder Woman, Superman, and Aquaman."
"Then I'll take Green Lantern and Cyborg," Oliver responded. "Along with my wife and myself, we'll have eight founding members."
"That's if they all agree to it," Y/N pointed out.
"Of course," Oliver added.
"And what about members of the Avengers that wish to join though?" Y/N asked.
"Let's cross that bridge when we get to it," Oliver answered. "I'll send you the data. And we can then find them."
At Black-gate prison, the Joker had another session with a psychiatrist that was tasked with rehabilitating him. Two guards brought him to the room as the doctor opened the door.
He looked at the doctor. "Hello, Mr. Joker. I am Dr. Harleen Quinzel," She said. "Please come in so we can get started."
"Yes," The Joker said with a smile as a plan started to form in his head. "Let's begin."
