The three of them hurried up towards Lupin's office where they saw Lupin packing all of his things.
"I saw you coming," he said, pointing at the Marauder's Map.
"Did you really resign? It's not true is it?"
"I'm afraid it is. When Dumbledore managed to convince Fudge that I was trying to save your lives, that did it for Snape. He let slip of my nature of being a werewolf this morning at breakfast."
"You're not leaving because of that?" Hermione asked him.
"The owl post will be coming in from parents... and um... they will not want... someone like me teaching their children," He said to them.
"But you're the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher we've ever had!" Ron cried before turning to Hermione, "Hermione! Surely you can send those dementors on the parents and threaten--"
"NO! Don't do that," Lupin told them, "I'm sure Miss Granger or her Grandmother wouldn't want that at all."
"Here, I brought this from the Shrieking Shack last night and... since I'm no long a teacher, I don't feel so guilty about giving you this," he said, handing both his Invisibility Cloak and the Marauder's Map too. Then there was a knock at the door, causing Harry to try and hide the cloak and map but turn to find Dumbledore walking in to inform Lupin of his carriages.
"Well Goodbye, Harry, Hermione and Ron. It was a pleasure teaching you and I hope we'll see each other again soon." Lupin told them while making his way out. Dumbledore soon asked Ron if he could see Lupin to the the gates. Once the two were gone, Dumbledore turned to Harry and Hermione.
"Why so miserable you two, you should be very proud of yourself after last night."
"It didn't make any difference," Harry said bitterly, "Pettigrew got away."
"Didn't make any difference? It made all the difference in the world. You helped uncover the truth, you saved an innocent man from a terrible fate." Dumbledore told them. Harry jolted up suddenly.
"Professor Dumbledore, Yesterday when I was having my Divination exam, Professor Trelawney said very strange... she said Voldemort's servant was going to set out to return to him before midnight.. she said the servant would help him come back to power.. was it... was she making a real prediction." Harry asked Dumbledore, "if so... then I stopped Professor Lupin and Sirius from killing Pettigrew... which means it will be my fault if Voldemort comes back!"
"It does not," Dumbledore told him, "Hasn't your experience with the Time-Turner taught you anything? The consequences of our actions are always so complicated and diverse that predicting the future is very difficult business indeed. By saving Pettigrew's life, he owes his life to you, and in that, you sent Voldemort a deputy who is in your debt. When the time comes, you will be very glad you saved his life... it would have been the same thing your father did too." Dumbledore assured him.
"I swear if I end up in the Ministry, I will be make loads of changes in Magical Law Enforcement," Hermione grumbled while showing Harry and Ron Rose's Manuscript as they had finished packing their things. They had gotten their exams and they were passing every subject. Hermione also agreed to have a normal schedule even though she did excellent in her studies. She just had enough with that Time-Turner. On the way to Hogwarts Express, Harry proceeded to read from the letter Sirius wrote to them explaining about the Firebolt (which Hermione gloated about knowing), and how he was able to use Crookshanks to get money from his Gringotts vault on top of his signed permission for him to go to Hogsmeade from now on. Also Sirius insisted that Ron keep the owl he used to send the letter, which Hermione laughed when Ron held the owl up to Crookshanks's nose to ensure it was in fact an owl.
"It's the Quidditch World Cup this summer! How about it? You two can come and stay and we'll go and see it! Dad can usually get tickets from work." Ron told them as they exist the train.
"That would be brilliant!" Harry cheered.
"I would like to see the world's cup... at least for once." Hermione stated while they walked over towards where their families were waiting for them. Hermione could see her parents hounding Grandma Elka, who looked almost annoyed, until she saw Hermione walking towards them.
"Oh! Hermione! There you are," Grandma Elka called out, causing her parents to go silent, "How was school?"
"Interesting as always, Grandma. I would like to give you this back," Hermione stated while handing the Time-Turner over to Grandma Elka.
"I thought you might have had enough with time after so many classes," Grandma Elka mumbled.
"I also met some of your friends, Scabior and Fenrir. Very lovely gents, wouldn't you say Grandma?" She said. Grandma Elka shrugged her shoulders.
"Thought a couple of extra eyes wouldn't hurt. Besides with those dementors, it's good to have some extra hands to help defend you as well." Grandma Elka confirmed before her eyes widened when she saw Hermione's new coat, "Oh, where did you get that coat?"
"Bought it. Apparently it used to belong to one of our family members... who I would love to hear about, Grandma Elka." Hermione told her. Grandma Elka rolled her eyes.
"Fine! I'll talk... and where did you get the new trunk?" Grandma Elka asked. Hermione turned as she saw there was another trunk right behind her with her name etched in a gold plaque on top.
"I didn't noticed that before." Hermione stated before grabbing the handle where she found a note swinging from it. It read:
Thought you may need this when things get bad.
"Don't know who sent that with me." Hermione stated. They shrugged while hurrying down King's Cross, overhearing Harry telling his Aunt and Uncle about his Godfather, who was a convicted murderer that broken out of prison and would be keeping in on him.
Barty Crouch Jr. rushed down the eerie drive of the abandon two-storied manor, which Muggles confused for a bunch of ruins, and swiftly entered inside. He scurried down the corridors till he reached a parlor. There sat a pair of red velvet sofas with a coffee table standing in between the seats. One was occupy. Barty made his way towards the sofa before he bowed his head right along side it.
"The mission is complete, my Mistress. The package is in her hands." Barty told the woman. She set down her cup of tea.
"Brilliant, Barty. And with my special gift in her hand, she will be most tempted to use it... Not sure who it would be, but I don't very much care about that. Maybe she can do the world a favor and get rid of that pitiful teacher, Severus Snape... or that annoying git, Draca... Drak... what is that Malfoy's brat's name again?" she asked.
"Draco, Mistress,"
"Whatever, he's a bit too cheeky for my taste. Worthless actually... but no matter. Soon-- my revenge will be complete by using precious, sweet Hermione for my personal gain." She stated before standing up and turned around and facing him, "You might want to start heading, Barty."
"My Mistress?"
"Your other 'Master' will be calling you shortly about his plans for next year. He's going to return I know it, but he won't be ruling for long... because I, Iracebeth, will return with more power and magic to make this Wizarding World bow in fear and regret for ever forsaking me! If they think little Voldemort is scary, wait till they see what I'm going to do!"
