━─┉┈◈◉◈┈┉─━
It was two weeks after your graduation and you were already at a new summer job. You wanted to have some money to spend while you were on summer break. Or at least have some to save before going to college. You were excited to start at your dream college, working with film editing, working your way up to work with movie trailers.
Soon, you would be making the big money, and soon you would be busy and not have time to spend your time with friends. So, working with your best friend Lily was best for the time being. It was just a coffee shop for now, and she enjoyed it, has been working there since her junior year of high school. Often would try to convince you to join, but you would often find yourself busy and just wanting to have fun.
No matter, as long as you had a job now, that was really all that mattered.
"And today we will be working the front. I will train you on the register today. It is really simple and pretty much self explanatory. The presets are all there, and you can input add-ons, or have items removed." She explains as the two of you tie your aprons in the employee break room that was in the back of the store.
"Sounds exciting. I am honestly glad that you are the one training me." You admit as your fix your hat, looking in the mirror that they had near the lockers. You apply a little more lip gloss and pop your lips.
"And plus, today is Thursday. my two-day regular comes in and I can't wait for you to see how handsome he is. He only comes Tuesdays and Thursdays for whatever reason, and I always get so nervous to even start a conversation. I have always wanted to ask why he only shows up on those two days." Your best friend ties her shoes and smiles over her shoulder at you. "Anyway, are you ready?"
"Yes, I am ready." You nod with a smile, pushing your braid, that was over your shoulder, towards your back.
She leads you to the front of the shop to the register. The shop was not open yet, so it was an easier process for her to show you quickly what the buttons were on the computer and how to go about the menu. It was pretty easy. You saw yourself getting use to it as the weeks progressed.
"Okay, let's open the doors." The morning manager called out and Lily quickly made her way to the front door to pull the cord of the Open sign, lighting up once pulled, she walked to the door and unlocked it.
Customers began to fill the room as she returned to you and took over the register so you could watch her before you could use it yourself.
She took orders with ease, placing them to be made for the baristas behind her, and you watched closely to get the hang of it. You nodded to yourself, trying to memorize the buttons so far, already seeing a pattern in it.
"Oh my god!" She quickly whispers your direction, making you now look at her confused.
"What is it?" You whisper back to her.
"He's here." She mouths out the words and you look up at a young man walking into the shop, looking down at his phone as he makes his way to the counter. It was as if he already knew the layout of the shop, because without looking up, he made his way to the counter.
"Good morning, Mr. Jeon. The usual?" Lily asks, huge smile on her face.
"Please." He answers, already sliding his card on the counter. You watch as she slides the credit card on the reader and hands him back his card.
He now places his phone down, having you now able to look at him. He kept his gaze unfocused as he places his card back in his wallet, as if he was bored of the same everyday routine. His hair was loosely styled as his bangs draped over his eyes. He had two lip piercings, both on the right corner of his mouth. Plain black shirt, dark jeans, and a black jacket, holding it all together. You understood now why Lily found him to be extremely handsome.
He finally looked your direction, double taking the glance, unaware that there had been another person taking his order.
"Oh?" He flicks up an eyebrow before clearing his throat, placing his wallet in his back pocket before looking back at you. "New girl?" He clears his throat again.
"Yes, sir." You nod with a friendly smile.
"Jungkook." He quickly corrects.
"Sorry?" You ask as he nods again with a chuckle. "My name, it's Jungkook."
"Jungkook." You repeat and there was a subtle moment where he bites his lip, then tongue messing with his piercings, noticing his eyes were eyeing your face.
"Your Iced Americano will be ready shortly, Mr. Jeon." Lily now interrupts, making him break his eye contact with you
"Thank you." He answers and moves towards the pick up counter, eyeing you before he walked away. You eye him back, soft smile on your lips as you draw your attention back to Lily. She stares at the computer in front of her as you wait for new customers.
"Shall I wipe down the counter?" You ask, trying not to stand around awkwardly.
"It looks pretty clean for now." She answers.
"Do you work all week?" Jungkook comes back over, getting your attention again.
"Do I?" You question, unsure if he was referring to you or Lily.
"Yes, you." He chuckles, tapping his fingers on the counter.
"Yes, I work until Saturday." You answer, not trying to flirt too much with him, knowing Lily had seen him first. She is your best friend, after all.
"Actually, the counters do look like they need a little cleaning. Do you mind going to the back and grabbing a rag and spray?" Lily now says and you quickly nod and leave the counter to head to the back.
"Iced Americano, Mr. Jeon!" The barista calls out. Jungkook makes his way to pick up his drink, eyeing the back room where you went to.
"Was there anything else you needed, Mr. Jeon?" Lily asked, her brightest smile on her face.
"Um.." He eyes the pastries on display, then back towards the back room. What was taking you so long? "No." He shakes his head. "I think that is all I need."
You then start making your way back, rag and spray bottle in hand, walking back to the register to begin spraying the counters.
"Thank you for coming in. Hope you have a good rest of your day." Lily calls out and Jungkook nods, quick glance your direction before walking out of the shop.
Oblivious to his departure, you begin to spray the counters and wipe them down.
"What was that?" Lily whispers your direction.
"I wasn't sure what spray to get, then saw the all purpose label on the bottle." You answer, eyeing the bottle in hand before spraying again.
"Not the bottle, YN, that whole thing with Mr. Jeon." She corrects with a roll of her eyes.
"Oh, I don't know. Was just answering a customer. I don't want to come off rude or anything." You shrug, wiping down another area of the counter.
"He was totally flirting with you. He never talks when he comes in. That is the most I have ever heard him speak." She informs, leaning against the counter, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I don't know." You answer honestly, placing the rag and bottle under the counter where there are other supplies placed. "He could just be curious to see a new employee. If he is a regular, it could just be curiosity." You really had no answer, didn't even know the guy. Just friendly conversation, and you weren't even trying to flirt with the guy. You knew how she felt about him, and you weren't about to make her upset by having more than a professional conversation with him.
The first day of work had went by fast and you ended the night hanging with your Lily and other two best friends, Taehyung and Jimin. You were all outside in your backyard, having a few drinks and listening to some music.
"How is the new job?" Taehyung asks, nudging your knee with his own.
"So far it's pretty easy." You answer before taking a sip of your drink.
"And the hours are really good, huh?" Jimin now asks.
"You two know that I have been working there this whole time, right?" Lily says with a roll of her eyes.
"Yes, but you never talk about work." Taehyung shrugs his shoulder.
"And when we asked you, you would complain saying that you didn't want to worry about work." Jimin points out with a laugh.
"You don't mind us asking, do you, YN?" Taehyung asks with a smile.
"No." You shake your head with a smile.
"You guys are insufferable." Lily pouts. "Only asking because you two have history. You don't care about the job."
You and Taehyung did have history. He was your ex, dating for over a year before calling it quits. You both had decided to end things on a positive note, agreeing that you two were better off as friends. You were happy in the relationship, but happier as friends.
"History has nothing to do with it, Lil." Taehyung points out. "I was genuinely curious. It was a quick question, no need to make a big deal over it."
"Regardless." You say out in the middle of Jimin laughing at the exchange. "It has been fun and easy."
"No history involved," Jimin teases. "Do you think you will be there when school starts?" He asks, making Lily scoff at his teasing.
"Maybe." You shrug. "If the hours don't interfere with school." You nod.
You, Taehyung, and Jimin all got accepted to the same fine arts university. Jimin wanting to be a director and Taehyung wants to be a screenwriter. Lily wanted to go to school for fashion, wanting to work her way up to be a fashion designer.
"I think they will work with you." Taehyung points out. "Why wouldn't they? School is important."
"That it is." You agree and take another sip of your drink.
"My parents are suggesting that I, too, look for a job." Taehyung says quietly.
"You should come work with us." Lily chimes in. "You will get the hang of it quickly. We are always hiring baristas. I think you will fit right in."
"Will you really help me out with a job?" He asks, hopeful.
"Of course." She smiles with a nod. "It'll be great. We would love to have you on the team. I will text my manager in the morning, but still come in tomorrow to apply."
"I can do that." He nods.
━─┉┈◈◉◈┈┉─━
The next day, you were clocked in, getting rags and spray bottles ready before Lily joined you in the back.
"Man, I was running behind this morning. I forgot where I put my keys." She huffs out, grabbing her apron from her locker and putting it on overhead. "Remind me never to drink before work ever again." She sighs, tying the strings behind her back.
"Yea, okay." You joke and she laughs lightly at that. "I pretty much have everything ready to go. I placed the new pastries up already and did some cleaning." You inform. "I am just going to place these bottles and rags up front.
"Thank you. I am sorry that I am late." She apologies, grabbing some more materials to help you stock up.
"It's no worries." You answer honestly. And it really was no problem. You were glad that you were able to prepare alone, getting the hang of the job.
"Your friend is coming in today to apply?" The manager Jungwon comes into the break to confirm.
"Yes." Lily nods. "I had told him last night to come in to apply. He didn't give me a time, but I will let you know when he shows up."
"Perfect. Could always use the extra help this summer." He informs before leaving you two, heading back to his office.
"Come on, let's go finish stocking up." She says and leads the way as you quickly follow.
Once you had finished, she turns the sign on and unlocks the door, having customers enter. You felt ready to use the register and logged into the one you would be using. So far, you were getting the hang of it, taking orders as if you had been there for years.
You notice Lily stiffen next to you and look at the entrance, noticing Jungkook walking in with a smile and making his way towards your register.
"Hello, welcome." You greet, noticing him wearing the same type of clothing he came in with the day prior. Dark clothes really suit him, making him look mysterious. "What will you be having this morning?" You ask as he takes out his wallet from his back pocket.
"I will have an Iced Americano." He answers and you began placing his order in. "Can I ask, what pastry you prefer?" He eyes the display that is on your right before looking back at you.
"Honestly, I like the chocolate chip cookies or the brownies." You answer honestly.
"Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. I will take one." He smirks and you nod with a smile.
"Coming right up. Will this be for here or to go?" You ask, tapping the side of the monitor.
"I will have it for here. I am not in a rush this morning. Fridays are always slow." He answers, getting his card out. Before you take it, you go to the display, taking a pair or tongs and grabbing a chocolate chip cookie and placing it on a small plate for him. You walk back, sliding the plate towards him as he hands you his card. Black card, you notice, before sliding it on the reader. You hand it back to him, waiting for the approval. The receipt print out from the printer and you hand it to him with a smile. "It will be ready soon."
"Thank you." He nods and halt his movements. "What time do you normally get off?" He asks.
"I get off at 2." You answer, unsure if you were able to give that type of information out to customers.
"Perfect. Maybe we can grab lunch one day." He shrugs, sliding his card out to you. You take hold of it, not looking at it as you smile his direction. "Just in case."
"Thank you. I will see when I am available." You inform as he takes hold of the small plate with his cookie and walks to the pick up counter.
You now look down at the card and your mouth immediately falls, Jeon Jungkook of Jeon House Studios. He was a film editor. You wanted to jump over the counter and bombard him with so many questions. How was it that you didn't put two and two together? Jeon House Studios was a studio you wanted to work towards when you finally graduated.
"What did he give you?" Lily asked, trying to look at the card.
"His business card. He's a film editor, Lil. At the very studio I want to work at." You answer, holding the card as if it were forbidden treasure.
"His business card?" She asked in disbelief, snatching it out of your hands. "How were you able to get a hold of that so quickly? You've only been working three days." She pouts, staring down at the card like liquid gold.
"Being in the same field." You lie, taking hold of the card again. His Iced Americano was called out and you looked up to watch him reach for it. He made eye contact with you again, making you smile softly before he found an empty table. There was another customer that approached you, and you took the order, feeling Jungkook's eyes burn your every movement as you tried to stay focus on the person in front of you, but you couldn't help the stolen glances every now and again towards his direction. He smiled as well, taking off pieces of his cookie and small sips of his drink.
It was like that, eyeing each other, until he finally decided to leave the shop. You noticed him holding the door open for Taehyung. Your eyes light up as your best friend made his way to the counter.
"I am ready to apply." He beams and Lily now joins.
"Perfect timing. The rush died down. Let me get my manager." She says before leaving you two.
"Taehyung, guess what?!" You couldn't wait to tell him the news.
"What's up?" He asks in concern.
"There is a regular here that also works as a film editor, in the same studio I want to work at." You inform him, passing the card to him.
"Jeon House Studios, right?" He asks before taking a hold of the card and taking a look at it. "Wow, what are the odds?"
"Slim to none." You joke before Lily returns with your manager.
"Taehyung, right?" He asks, reaching his hand out to shake.
"Yes sir." Taehyung replies, placing his hand in his. "I am here to apply for whatever position is available."
"Perfect. Follow me to my office. Let's get started." They walk away, leaving the lobby empty and you alone with Lily.
"I can't believe you got his card." She huffs out, grabbing a rag to wipe down the counter.
"It's just a card, Lily. It isn't that big of a deal." You simply say as she sighs with a shake of her head.
"That isn't the point. I have been trying to flirt and talk to him for years, and you just come in and steal it all from me." She says with annoyance.
"Whoa, I am not stealing anything. He gave me his card, a card for a business that I am aiming for." You point out and she shakes her head again.
You sigh now and begin wiping down the counters. She didn't talk to you much after that, mainly keeping to herself. Taehyung had informed you that he got the job and was excited to start the next day with you. You cheered with him, also looking forward to working with him as well.
━─┉┈◈◉◈┈┉─━
The next day came and Lily was hardly talking to you, mainly training Tae and showing him around as you stocked up the things that needed to be stocked. When the shop opened, Jungkook was one of the first to arrive, which surprised you, and you were sure that it surprised Lily as well, considering that she mentioned that he was only there twice a week, and you had already seen him three times.
You place in his order of Iced American and the added chocolate chip cookies. He flirted again, which made you smile and want to keep talking to him.
"You didn't reach out to me." He mentioned, leaning on the counter. The lobby was empty, giving you a moment to stand and talk to him, especially with Lily being occupied with Taehyung.
"Was I suppose to?" You finally flirt.
"Well, I gave you my card for a reason." He raises an eyebrow, smirk on his lips. "I have to admit that I was waiting for a call or even a text."
"Funny story, though, the card, I am going to school for that very reason. I dream of working at Jeon House Studios." You mention embarrassingly.
"Oh no shit!?" He stands up straighter. "You're lying." He teases.
"I'm not." you shake your head. "I promise."
"The CEO is my father." He mentions.
"I know!" You pipe, then quickly cover your mouth, letting him know that you had done your research plenty in the past. You admired that they were a small company that started from nothing and now are one of the top studios that modern day studios wanted to work with.
"I see you have done your research." He teases.
"I admire your father, immensely." You admit and he chuckles.
"Yes, he has come a long way." He nods.
"I am sorry, I shouldn't be admiring him in front of you like I am." You apologize and he shakes his head and places his hand over yours that was on top of the counter. You look down at his hand over yours, butterflies immediately fluttering in your tummy.
"No, I get it. I am proud of him as well, and honored that I get to work in the same studio." He admits, thumb caressing your knuckles. There was a ping from his phone and he straighten ups. He clears his throat, taking his hand off your own.
"So, you get out at 2 two, today?" He clarifies and you nod. "I think I will be around the area at the time, so I would love to pick you up and possibly hang out and grab dinner." Dinner at 2?
"Dinner?" You question. "At 2?"
"Well, I know that when I finally have you near me, I don't think I am going to want to let you go." He smiles, making the butterflies now do somersaults. You were still young, this was the most that any person had flirted with you. When Taehyung would flirt, he was always shy, making you do most of the work, but now this was a full grown man, showing you how interested he was in you.
"I will be done at 2." You nod and he smiles again, backing up slowly.
"Okay, I will be here at 2!" He chuckles to himself, finally leaving the shop and making you sigh to yourself as you watch him leave. He gives a final glance over his shoulder before he disappears.
"Seems pretty easy." Taehyung and Lily now join you up front.
"Yes, I think you will be a great addition with all the help." She replies with a smile, hand giving him a reassuring squeeze on his shoulder.
"Thanks. I am excited." Taehyung nods and looks your direction. "Were you busy with the orders this morning?" He asks.
You shake your head. "Not really. This morning had been pretty slow." You admit, not wanting to discuss the encounter with Jungkook.
"That's good. Saturday's are normally slow." Lily nods and takes a rag out to start cleaning the displays. "So, what do we have planned tonight?" She eyes you and Taehyung.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I already have plans." You say quietly.
"Plans?" Lily stops her cleaning and turns to you. "Plans with who?" She now asks, unaware that plans had already been made without her.
"Just have plans, is all." You shrug, biting your bottom lip.
"Well, that sucks. Maybe we can hang out tomorrow." Taehyung suggests, oblivious to the tension rising between you and Lily.
"Yes, tomorrow." She nods. "I wonder how Jimin is going to take it." She sighs.
"I don't think Jimin will really care." Taehyung says, again oblivious to the situation.
"Taehyung, please stop talking." Lily huffs before walking away.
"What?" Taehyung shrugs. "I am just saying that I doubt he will care if YN doesn't hang with us one day." He looks at you confused.
"Thanks, Tae. I don't know why she was so bothered." You give a small laugh and begin wiping the rest of the display. You eye the time, barely going to be 9. Brilliant. Today was going to be a slow day.
You kept yourself as busy as you could. There were several customers that showed up, and when you had down time, you would clean up as much as you could. You didn't like being around a lot of mess, so it was good to bring that to work. You even got good remarks from the manager, which made you smile at the compliment.
Soon, it was nearing clock out time, and you were gathering your things in the back from your locker.
"Good first day, Taehyung." You smile his way.
"Thanks, it was pretty fun. I am going to get the hang of it real quick." He answers, taking off his cap and placing it in his designated locker, along with his apron.
"I said the same thing as well. I have yet to experience a rush, but so far, it seems like I can handle this for sure." You agree, taking off your apron and cap as well. You shut your locker and head to the mirror. Cap head. Ugh!
You take your hair out of your band and begin to run your fingers through it to try and comb it out. You fluff it up as much as you can so it doesn't look as flat. You even shake your head to give it some volume.
Lily came to the back and loos your way. "Getting ready for a big date?" She teases and you simply laugh her way.
"I wish. There is no one out there that would want to ask me out." You bite back and she rolls her eyes.
"I know you are going out with Mr. Jeon, YN. Don't try and deny it." She huffs out. "And need I remind you that there is no fraternizing with the customers."
"Lily, we aren't working in the hospital, besides, we are just hanging out. He is going to just go over the editing stuff he works with and stuff." You apply some lip gloss on. There was no point in denying it any longer. If she knew, then she knew.
"How could you? You knew how I felt about him." She asks annoyed.
You stay quiet then look her way. "You're right. I will cancel with him."
"But he works at the studio you want to work at. That is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door." Taehyung interjects.
"It's okay. I am sure there will be another studio I can check out, or something." You twist your mouth, chewing on the inside of your cheek.
"No, you're right. He has never even talked to me. I shouldn't be like that. I am sorry. Please, don't cancel just because I find him incredibly sexy." Lily sighs and you smile and quickly hug her.
"Thank you." You beam and she hugs you back. There was a notification that signaled that it was time for the three of you to clock out. You went to the monitor and each took your turn to clock out.
When you walked out of the back room and towards the lobby, you noticed Jungkook immediately. He was standing by the door, looking outside, waiting. He was wearing the clothes from earlier, dark clothing, hair combed, and combat boots. You approached him, placing your hand on his shoulder to acknowledge you were ready.
"Hey." He smiles and you practically melt. His eyes crease at the outer corners and eyes practically disappear.
"Are you ready?" You ask.
"I am. Are you?" He eyes your bag in hand.
You nod and he places a hand on the small of your back before opening the door for you to both walk out.
"That's him?" Taehyung asks besides Lily.
Lily stares the whole time as Jungkook doesn't remove his hand from you as you both walk out of view. "That's him." She sighs quietly. "I should have made my move on him sooner. Is she really that much prettier than me?" She looks his way, eyes pleading and Taehyung merely clears his throat.
"Hey, that is not fair to ask. She is my ex. Of course I will always find her beautiful." Taehyung apologizes. "Come on, let's go meet Jimin."
"Wow, you have a nice car." You eye the car he is leading you to. A black CT5 - V Blackwing. It looked clean and shiny under the sunlight. The windows were all tinted like a limousine. You couldn't even see the inside of the car from where you stood.
"Thank you. Working hard really pays off." He chuckles and unlocks the door and opens the passenger side for you. You get in, sitting on the leather seats and he closes the door. You felt really underdressed being in a car that looks so luxurious. You looked around at the interior.
There was a screen with knobs underneath it. You look towards the backseats, really spacious, and the smell. Oh, you had no words to express how nice it smelled. It was him, like a cedarwood smell. Like expensive cologne. Being in here made you happy that you would soon be making the same kind of money, and one day own a car just like this.
His door opens and he climbs in and shuts the door. He pushes the button to start his car and the engine revs to life. You smile looking at the screen turn on and then show the music he had currently playing, linked to his iPhone.
"Kali Uchis." You nod towards the screen, impressed by his music taste.
"telepatía is a good song." He chuckles and you nod.
"No, I agree. Just admiring your taste is all. What else do you like?"
"Pretty much a little bit of everything."
"Yea, same here. And I really mean it when I say that though. I really do listen to pretty much everything." You inform as he drives down the street.
"Well, maybe we will have the same music taste. We already have the same occupational taste." He smirks and you nod, unaware of where the two of you were heading, but were just glad to be in his presence. You normally wouldn't be around strangers, especially strange men, but there was something about him that made you feel safe. He didn't raise any red flags from the times you had spoke to him, and he seemed like more than a gentleman to you.
Yes, he was older, well, looked older than you, but you were close to being an adult soon. Oh, you really hope that he didn't see a problem with that. Would he have a problem dating someone younger? There shouldn't be a problem, considering that he had asked you. He had to have known that you were indeed younger than him.
"What is on your mind?" You hear him ask as he looks at you momentarily before keeping his eyes on the road.
"Sorry, I am just...I don't know. Kind of happy, I guess. I haven't been asked out in awhile." You bashfully admit.
"Really?" He raises an eyebrow in disbelief. "I find that hard to believe."
"Why would you find that hard to believe? I don't really go out much. I mainly hang out with my small friend group, and we normally party at my house, since it is the biggest."
"Well, now I know why. You don't go out much. If you did, then there would be guys lining up to get your number." He jokes and you shake your head at the thought.
"You make jokes." You laugh and he looks your way.
"Yea...jokes..." He signals his blinker and you look at your destination. Honestly, it doesn't look familiar at all. Where exactly is he taking you?
"Where are we?" You ask, looking around the parking lot.
"You've never been to this part of town?" He asks, finding a parking spot.
"No, can't say I have." You admit, eyeing all the shops that are aligned together. People going in and out, making each look busy.
"There is a nice entertainment shop here. Has a lot of movies and records. I often come here to check out what they have that is new and se what sales they have." He puts his car in park when he finds a spot and you unbuckle your belt and open the door. He shuts his own and rushes over to close the door for you and take your hand.
The small gesture gave you instant butterflies. What was this man doing to you? He leads you to the shop he wanted to go to, glancing at your hands every now and again, thinking that he is crazy for wearing a jacket in this weather. Was he really not hot?
"I'm sorry, I have to ask. Are you not hot?" You voice your thoughts as he now looks back at you with a smirk.
"It's not too bad." He simply shrugs, although you can only imagine that he must feel some sort of discomfort.
"You aren't hiding any scars or anything, are you?" You tease, nudging his shoulder with your own and he chuckles at your playfulness.
"No, not at all. I just don't want to carry it around. Rather just have it on." He reasons and you nod at that. I mean, it made sense. There would be no point for him to carry it around. Regardless, why are you worrying about a jacket? A clothing item.
Your train of thought was changed though, the moment he stops and opens the door to the shop he was wanting to visit. You walk in, feeling the nice breeze of the air conditioner, a nice transition from the heat outside.
"Good afternoon, welcome!" The clerk behind the register greeted.
You both smile as he leads you down one of the aisles. He skims through some vinyl's, as if he had already had them in his collection. "Looking for something in particular?" You asked, also eyeing the records before your finger reaches to look at the row of them, combing through them.
"Nothing in particular. I just like to see what's new. They normally update every Friday, but I didn't show up yesterday." He explains and you nod.
"Well, they have some good artists." You eye, already knowing a few.
"Yes, I already have them or I don't listen to them enough to want to buy the album." He admits and you nod again.
"What artist do you like?" He questions, looking over his shoulder to you.
"I have a lot, where do I even begin?" You tilt her head and begin to think of all the artist that you like.
"Oh, don't tell me you like all those boy bands." He jokes.
"And what is wrong with liking boy bands?" You feign annoyance. "I can name all the boy bands and still be proud to stan them." You laugh and he chuckles.
"Nothing wrong with liking them. I like a fair few, myself."
"Oh? And who exactly do you like?" You raise and eyebrow, intrigued.
"Nah, why do you have to put me on the spot like that?" He chuckles, looking away, turning his back to you.
"You put me in the same spot." You laugh, placing your hand on his shoulder to have him face you, smile still on his face. "Now, come on. Band names."
He shakes his head and takes hold of a record that was displayed behind you. "Found one." He smirks and begins to walk to the register. You shake your head and walk after him.
"Find everything you were looking for?" The clerk asks.
"Yes, thank you." Jungkook nods, reaching for his wallet in his back pocket. You reach him, standing next to him as he pays for his new record.
The clerk eyes you, up and down, before he adds his card back to his wallet, making you feel uneasy that she is staring at you. She prints out his receipt, placing it in the bag and handing it to him.
"See you next Friday." She smiles warmly and he chuckles, before taking hold of your hand and leading you out of the store without another word.
"See you next Friday." You couldn't hold back the tease as the two of you stepped out of the shop. He let out a laugh that sounded pretty genuine, making his eyes grow small.
"Okay, I am a regular. I told you I am there often." He confirms again, rubbing his hand on the back of his neck.
"See, when you said that, I really thought you were joking, but the fact that she confirmed it..." You gesture an explosion against your temple. He laughs again, and it was a sound that you definitely wouldn't mind hearing again and again.
"I know, my life can be very uneventful, really." He sighs and you thought that the very sentence had to be false. He was the son of a very well-known editing company. There was no way that his life would be uneventful. You could only imagine the after parties that were held. The celebrities that he could have met. The scandals that he may have face from time-to-time.
"Come on, now I know you are lying. There has to be parties and such that you attend." You counter, urging him to open the gates of wonders.
"Every now and then there are parties, but I am just a hard worker and always try to keep myself busy with the job."
"Is that why you are single?" You pry, and quickly cover your mouth with your hand. You didn't mean for that to come out so abruptly. Yes, you were curious, but at the same time, you didn't want to push him to speak about the subject unless he was fully comfortable with it.
"Partly." He admits as you two are now near his car. "I am single because it is hard to find someone that doesn't see you as just some ATM. Call me a softie, but I like romance as well." He pushes the button to unlock his car and opens the passenger door for you. You slide in again as he shuts it.
A romantic. You didn't think that he would be the type. Honestly, he came off as some sort of playboy, playing the field and getting his dick wet in any girl that would look his way. Perhaps he is just saying that to get in your pants, and that was something that you were not ready for. You are still a virgin, and wanted to lose to it someone that meant a great deal to you. You weren't just going to lose it to some guy just because he is handsome and has your dream job.
He enters on his side and gets comfortable in his seat. He pushes the ignition and turns your direction. "Hungry?" He asks with a smile and you couldn't help but smile in return.
"Famished."

"I am pretty sure that she didn't mean to go out with him. She was probably interested in him as well." Jimin tries to soothe a saddened Lily. They had gathered at Jimin's house, having the second largest, and pretty awesome bedroom. It was spacious, enough to fit his king sized bed and a couch. He had a balcony that overlooked the pool and LED lights that weren't so bright.
"Oh, come off it, Jimin. You know her just as much as I do." Lily takes a gulp of her drink. "I will never forgive her for this. She knew how much I like him."
"Did you ever tell him?" Jimin asks, bringing his foot up to lay his ankle on his thigh.
"Of course not. He is older and would never look my way." She almost sounds taken aback.
"So, because he showed an interest in her, she is not allowed to talk to him?" He was trying to see what the problem was, exactly, but he also didn't want to sound condescending. He didn't understand how girls deal with their problems. Guys were different when it came to dating.
"Jimin, it's the principle. It's like when a guy says 'Dibs'." She compared the saying and he was quick to nod with his mouth open, as if her understood exactly what she meant.
"Oh, well then that's fucked up." Jimin takes a drink and Lily nods.
"I know. I told you." She leans back in her chair, happy that Jimin was on her side.
"Let's not talk about her when she isn't here to defend herself." Taehyung interjects. "Honestly, if you wanted to make a move, you really could have. You know her, you know she is not capable of being conniving."
"Taehyung, you are saying all this because you will never see her do anything wrong. You will always take her side. That is why I am telling Jimin because he is unbiased."
"Yea, but you also skipped the part where you let her go out with him. You said that she is allowed to go with him when she even tried to cancel." Taehyung pointed out and Jimin looked over at Lily confused.
"She was going to cancel?" He asked, reaching for his drink to take a sip.
"Well, I couldn't let her. He is also a film editor apparently." She shrugs as if it were no big deal to keep that part out.
"Whoa, well that changes everything." Jimin places his glass back on the round table they were seated on, running a hand through his hair. "You made it seem like she did it maliciously."
"Well, technically she did. They weren't flirting right in front of me." Lily tries to explain.
"No, you gave her permission. You can't be mad at her. That is being unfair."
"I regret saying she could go."
"That is still being unfair." Jimin shakes his head, looking over at Taehyung. "And how do you feel about it?"
Taehyung freezes and clears his throat. He softly swirls his beer in his hand, trying to avoid the question. How did he feel? Why did the question seem so heavy? "I'm fine." He simply says and Jimin and Lily eye each other.
"It bothers you as well, doesn't it?" She teases and he leans back on his chair.
"It doesn't bother me. I'm telling you, I am fine. She can do whatever she wants."
Jimin's phone begins to ring, breaking the tension that was rising and he sits up straight, taking hold of it. "Oh, speak of the devil." He swipes his phone to answer. "Hey, you're on speaker."
"Oh, good. That means you guys are still hanging out. Do you mind if I stop by?" You ask through the speaker.
"Yea, come on by. Are you bringing your date?" Jimin teases.
"No. He is going to drop me off, if that's cool." You answer with a laugh.
"You know where we are." Jimin answers.
"Okay, see you in a bit." You hang up and Jimin looks over at Lily.
"Are you going to be okay with her coming?" He asks for assurance.
"Yes, I am fine with her coming. I doubt that she will voluntarily start talking about it, so I would prefer if no one asked her about it."
It wasn't long before you walked out into the balcony, joining them at the table, sitting in between Taehyung and Jimin. You let out a sigh as Jimin passes you a beer from the cooler. You open it and take a sip.
"How is the night going?" You ask, placing your phone onto the table.
"We are just getting started." Jimin fabricates as Lily takes another drink.
"Good. Tae, are you going to like being a barista? You are going to become a pro in no time!" You look his direction and he smiles.
"I am ready!" He chimes in with a chuckle. "As my first job, I don't want to mess this up."
"You will be great, Tae! You picked it up rather quickly!" Lily boasts and you nod along.
"Tae, the Barista!" Jimin chuckles, making you laugh along, taking a sip of your drink. You were glad that you ended the night with your best friends. Yes, your night with Jungkook was more than perfect, he was a true gentleman. He even walked you to the front door and kissed your cheek. He didn't seem the type to pressure you to do anything. And he was more than happy to drop you off at your friends house. You did ask him to join, but he didn't want to impose or make Lily feel uncomfortable, already knowing about her little crush on him. You both had agreed to see each other again and you were really looking forward to it.
