North watched CT gaze out the window to look upon the city.
"Like the view?" he asked, stretching.
"Mmhmm," she mumbled, obviously in deeper thought.
"Penny for your thoughts?" he asked.
She sighed.
"Thinking about the future," she replied.
"Like what?" he asked.
"Just the basics," she muttered.
North laughed and flopped on his back to look up at the ceiling.
"How many kids do you want to have?" he asked.
"What?!" she sputtered, blushing.
"C'mon, I'm curious!" he coaxed. "I'll start. I want four."
"I want two to three," she replied, sigh evident in her voice.
"But, seeing as I work with kids daily, I'll take what I can get," he said.
"Big wedding or small wedding?"
"Depends on what the bride wants. You?"
"Small. Small with animals."
"House, apartment or farm?"
"House or farm. You?"
"Anything but this apartment."
"Interesting. What would you name your kids?"
"Boy or girl?"
"Yes."
"Okay. Probably Tommy or Bridget. And you?"
"Jackson or Brooklynn."
"Good choices...."
Silence filled the two of them as they realized the awkwardness of the situation.
"I'm thinking about growing my hair back out," she piped up, running a hand through it.
"Long like before?" he asked.
"Nope. Probably chin length. Maybe some color? Who knows," she replied.
"It'll be pretty, whatever it is," he declared.
"Thanks," she laughed, looking back out the window.
North went back to watching her as she gazed to the outside world. The sunlight fell on her and made her look...well...as if she were glowing. Even in sweatpants and a tank top, he still thought she was amazing.
I've been dating this girl for about 2 weeks....and I already want to marry her...
