Now Gwen and I are in Dave's car going to the airport. I'm so happy for Gwen to be accepted at Oxford. So proud of her.
"I'm gonna miss both of you so much. And especially you," Dave said and kissed Gwen. "Ew, don't even think about making out right now. Disgusting," I say to both of them causing them to pull away and laugh at my demeanor.
"How's that Dylan fellow?" Dave asks me and I shrugged. "It was good but I don't know if I want a relationship right now. It's been a stressful week," I answered him as I look away.
"Yeah, from agreeing to being friends with Peter then literally have sex with him then you have a date with Dylan. I'd say it's pretty stressful," Dave said to me and I glare at him.
"Gwen, sweetie, if you don't hear anything from Dave for the next couple of days, just know that I'd probably have something to do with it," Gwen just laughs at my death threat to Dave.
"Yeah, I'm sorry that you had to count the days now," Gwen replied as she pat Dave's shoulder. "I know. I brought that upon myself," Dave said as he sigh.
Then I see a lot of people get out of the car and walk to the sidewalk. "Why is everyone getting out of their car?" I ask them. "It's Spider-Man!" Dave exclaimed. Yeah, Dave loves Spider-Man. His life goal are to be saved by Spider-Man or to help Spider-Man.
I see some writing on the bridge. "Stop the car," I say to Dave. "This car hasn't even moved in the last 20 minutes," he said and I get out of the car. I quickly walk to the sidewalk.
The writings became clearer as I got to the sidewalk. Peter's web on the bridge spelled I LOVE YOU. I smile at it. "Damn, I wish Dave could do that," Gwen said and I just chuckle.
I see Peter swing at me and he swooped me up. Then lands us at the top of the bridge. Like literally on the top. "Hi," I say to him as he open his mask and I hold on to him tight. "Hi, did you get my message?" he asks.
"What message?" I ask him. "The message over there," he said as he points to his writing with his head. "Oh, that. That was you? Damn, I thought it was someone else," I tell him. "I'm gonna tell you what it says. It's says 'I Love You' cause I love you," he said and I wrapped my arms around his neck as I got closer to him.
"And no offense but you're wrong," he adds and I furrowed my eyebrows. "Wrong about what?" I ask him. "You're wrong about us being on different paths right now because you're my path and you're always gonna be my path,"
What he said made me smile and he put his forehead against mine. "And I know there's a million different reasons why we shouldn't be together. I know that," he said and he's pull away to looked at me. "But I'm tired of it. I'm tired of every single one of them. We've all gonna make a choice. Right? And I choose you,"
"No more saying I can't do this?" I ask him and he shook his head. "No, no more saying that," he tells me and I smile at him. "So, here's my thought. England. Both of us," he said and I was shocked by his decision.
"Really?" I ask him and he nodded. "I'm following you now. I'm just gonna follow you everywhere. I'm just gonna follow you the rest of my life," I nodded as I laughs a little. "They got crime there, in England," I nodded again.
"They got tons of crime, it seems," he said to me and I nodded. "Tons," I replied to him. "They got uh. . . Jack the Ripper," he said and I laugh. I forgot this boy is an idiot. "What? They haven't caught Jack the Ripper yet. You didn't know?"
"I sometimes forgot how much of an idiot you are," I say to him as I shook my head and laugh a little. "How's your date?" he asks me. "It was actually a pretty good date. But. . ."
"But?" he asks. "But he's not you. No one could ever replace you," I tell him and he has the widest smile ever. "Hah! I knew it," he responded making me rolled my eyes. "So, that's a no to being friends?"
"Who are we kidding? We can never be just friends," I tell him and he kissed me. I like kissing him. The feeling that will never get replaced. Never.
"Kara, you are my home," he said to me and I just smile at him. He never says that. I was the one who said that. To me it's like saying I love you to him without actually saying the word. "And you are mine,"
Then there's a sound of energy going down making us pulled away. Then we see city lights go down. "What the hell is that?" Peter asks as we both look to this tiny blue light in the power grid. "I don't know," I answer him. "Is that Max? He must've cut the power to the whole city,"
"There's gotta be some kind of black out plan, right? Some kind of backup?" Peter asks as we see city lights go down one by one. "Gwen told me about this. Um, there's some kind of um an emergency reset at the uh power plant. If he cuts the transmission line, they're never gonna get this back up,"
"How am I gonna stop him? We tried everything," Peter said to me and I remember the conversation that I had with Gwen. "How about magnetizing them?" I ask him. "Magnetizing them?"
"Yeah, Gwen said that in both of your 8 grade science class, the teacher magnetize a nail with a battery then it," I was about to tell him but he cut me off. "It holds an electrical charge," Peter finish and I nodded. "Yes,"
We land next to Gwen and Dave. Dave is just speechless to see Peter. I mean Spider-Man. "It's Max isn't it?" she asks and I nodded. Then I looked at Dave. "Dave, do you have jumper cables? and copper wire?"
"What?" both Gwen and Dave asks me back. "We need to magnetize Pe- Spider-Man's web so he can stop Max," I say to both of them. Almost outing Peter as Spider-Man. That was close. "So, do you have it?" I ask Dave and he nodded.
Then Dave got the jumper cables and copper wire. I don't know why Dave have Jumper cables at the back of his car trunk but thank God he has. Gwen and I put the copper wire to Peter's web. "Your suit will ground you," Gwen said to Peter.
"All right, do it," Peter said to Dave and I attach the cables to the wires. There's a spark of electricity on Peter's web as the engine revving. "Okay, good. Try, try, try, try, try. Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry," Peter said and I get my keys to put it on Peter's web machine. It works. Good.
"Okay, it works, good," Peter said as he gives me the keys back. "And that's why you are number 3 in Midtown," Gwen said to Peter. "Rub it in, okay," Peter replied. "Peter is Spider-Man?" Dave asks. Oh, shit. Gwen quickly walked to Dave and just came up with a lie.
Then one of the shops lights exploded. "I gotta go," Peter said and I look at him. "I'm coming with you," I say to him. "Kara, you're not coming with me," Peter quickly objects. "Yes, I am," I replied to him. "Kara, it's too dangerous,"
"I've seen the grid specs and Gwen can tell me how to reset the entire system," I try to reason with him and he shook his head. "I'm coming with you. You know that you need me," I continue give him a reason but he just covered my mouth with his hand.
"You're coming with me! Shut the thing," he said and I was about to close the car hood, he webs my hand. "Sorry, I love you. Don't hate me," he said as he swings away. "Peter!" I exclaimed and quickly put my hands over my mouth as a reaction. Shit.
"Gwen, can you help me with this?" I ask her and she grab something sharp and cut the web. "Thanks," I said as I closed the car hood. "I have to go to the power plant to reset the system. Can you tell me how?" I ask Gwen.
"You're going there? Alone?" she asks me and I nodded. "Spider-Man needs my help," I answered her. "Then I'm coming with you," She said to me and I shook my head. "Not happening Gwen. Just tell me how," I ask her and she shook her head.
"No, we're either in this together or we don't," she said and I sigh. "Fine, but Dave stays here," I say to her and she nodded. "Absolutely," she agrees but Dave objects. "I'm coming with you guys," he tells us.
"No, we need your car," I say to him. "What? No, Absolutely no-" his sentence was cut off by me knocking him out. "Oh, wow. You do that so easily," Gwen said and I chuckle. "Let's get him to safety then we go to the power plant,"
I drove us to the power plant. "Why does this always happen on my last day in New York. Seriously. Last time it was the lizard and now it's Max," I say and Gwen just laughs. "I know, it's like the universe is telling you not to leave New York,"
"You know, you don't have to do this. You can just tell me," I tell her and she looked at me. "And have you take all the victory? Not gonna happen," she replied to me and I smile at her. "Till the end of the line," I say to her. "Till the end of the line,"
Then I saw Peter was in midair and surrounds by electricity by Max. I push the gas at full speed and hit Max. "I'm never letting you drive ever again," Gwen replied and I open the car door. I quickly go to Peter.
"Really? You web me to a car? What are you a cavemen?" I ask him as I walk to Peter. "You shouldn't be here," he said to me. "You tie me up to go off to war? I know how to help you," I replied.
"What are you doing here?! And you brought Gwen?" Peter asks me. "I-I know the grid specs and she can reset the system," I answered him. "You can't be here right now. Both of you. I'm not messing around. You can't be here right now. This is insane,"
"Okay, guess what. Nobody makes my decisions for me, all right? Nobody! This is my choice. Okay? Besides we both help you defeat the lizard," I try to reason with him and Gwen runs to us. "How do we stop him?" She asks Peter.
"Okay, so he's electric. he's like a battery. So what happens if you overcharge a battery?" Peter asks as the three if us walks backwards. "It explodes," I answered. "So we use his power against him. Perfect. Okay," Gwen said.
"I think I can reconnect the power lines, But I need you to do, I need you to reset the system. Okay, when I say you turn the power on, no matter what," he said as he holds my hand. "Peter. . ." I was about to object but he cuts me off.
"No matter what," he repeated and I nodded. "Go, go!" he said to the both of us and we went in to the power plant. "Here we go," I say to her and we walk to the control room. "Oh my god, there's a lot of dead bodies everywhere," Gwen reacted.
"Oh, it smells," I replied and we saw a writings that says Master reset but it's locked. "Check this out," I say to her and I get bobby pins from my hair. "You can pick a lock?" she asks me and I look at her. "How do you think I can go to a building undetected?"
"Cool," she said and I started to pick the lock. After some time, the lock is open. "Okay, okay, okay. Wait for Peter's signal," I said to her and we hold the machine together. "I wish I could put "helping Spiderman save New York" twice on my resume,"
"Man, me too," she replied and we both silently laugh. we wait for Peter's signal. We see Peter's connect the power lines with his web and Max attacks Peter with his electricity in Peter's chest. "Peter," I mutter and I almost reset it but Gwen stops me. "Wait for Peter signal,"
"Now, guys, now. Do it now!" Peter said and we turn the machine. Then Max exploded and I quickly get out and run to Peter. I see him standing up and I quickly hug him. "You're okay. Oh my God, you're okay,"
"I'm Spider-Man. Of course, I'm okay," he answered and we both got out of the hug. "Told you, you needed our help. How will you ever survive without us?" I say to him as we walked to Gwen. "Yeah, yeah. gloat away," he said
I got to Gwen and hug her. "We save New York City once again," I say to her as we got out of the hug. "I think we should have our superhero name. So Spider-Man can't take all the credit," Gwen said and I nodded. "Agreed,"
"I think we can still make your flight," Peter said to us. Then there's a sounds of a rocket whoosing and someone's laugh. It's creepy. "Peter," I say to him. "Both of you stay there," he said as he distanced himself from us.
"Okay, I think we should go to the car," I say to Gwen as we intertwined our hands. "Peter literally said to stay here," Gwen replied to me. Then this man, is it a man? a creature? I'm just gonna say it's a man.
Then this man who is flying on this fly thingy look at Peter and Gwen and I. Why do I recognize him? I've seen his face before. "Peter," he said. "When you said Spider-Man said no, you meant you said no!"
Oh my god, that's Harry. Harry, what happen to you? "Harry, what did you do?" Peter asks Harry as he walks closer to Harry. "What you made me do. You were my friend, and you betrayed me!" Harry answers. "No, I was trying to protect you,"
"Okay, on the count of three, we run," I say to Gwen. "What? Peter said to stay here," Gwen said to me and I look at her. "That's the bad guy. He is going to use one of us as leverage. Do you want that? Because I don't," I say to her and she shook her head.
Then Harry turns to us and coming towards us or more like me. "No! Kara, run!" Peter said. I feel my body being pushed to the ground. Gwen must've pushed me. I look up and saw Harry is holding Gwen. Shit.
"Harry," Peter said as he swung toward Harry. "Harry put her down," Peter added and I run following them. "Harry," I scream at him and it got his attention.
He soon realized that he picked up Gwen not me. "Put her down. You want me. So come and get me," I say to him and Harry lets go of Gwen but Peter caught her.
Harry then fly towards me and I grab the gun on my back. I quickly shoot at him but it did nothing. I almost pick me up but I went on my knees and leaned back.
"Harry, you're hurt. You're not thinking straight. Let me help you. Okay," I tell him in a soft voice. "What are you doing?" Peter asks me with Gwen by his side. "Trying to get some sense into him. Just let me do it. Peter, get Gwen to safety,"
I slowly walk closer to Harry. "Harry," I say to him. "Harry's not here anymore," he replied. "I know you're still in there. The first person I consider to be my friend. The boy who is shy but kind. The boy who's driven and determined. The boy who can always bail me out when I'm in trouble at school,"
I can see that him and his hover go down. "That was a fun time," he tells me and I smile. "Yeah, it was," I replied and I was about to hold his hand but he looks at me with that evil smile.
"That was weak Harry," he said and I walk back a little. Startled by his sudden voice change and his demeanor. I keep walking backward. "The Harry that you knew is dead. I'm the new and improved Harry," he said to me as he laughs.
"Talk some sense into him yeah," Gwen said to me and I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, well, I thought I could do something. "You two are perfect with each other. It's so sad that one of you has to die,"
He fly towards me again and Gwen push me out of the way again but this time I feel my head got hit by something and all I see is black.
