A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
Leaving the café, (f/n) wished that she could go back already. Instead, Anita was hanging onto her right arm and talking about what she should choose for them tomorrow. (F/n) already knew that she was going to be wearing a dress. At least, it wouldn't be super revealing, though, and she'd make sure that it wasn't short either. Tomorrow wasn't to impress Tristan; it was to send him packing.
Reaching the store, they both walked inside, and Anita practically dragged her over to the dresses. When she finally let go of her arm, Anita bounded off to glance over some dresses that caught her eyes already. (F/n) was tempted to grab the ugliest dress she could find and somehow convince Anita that it'd work for tomorrow. Unfortunately, it seemed like Anita had found some picks for her due to the two dresses that were shoved into her arms.
Examining them, (f/n) sighed and held up the first one. "Anita, what did I say?" Her voice's tone wasn't amused, and an eyebrow of hers twitched. In her hands was a neon orange fishnet hoodie dress.
A giggle left Anita, and she shrugged. "That's not that revealing." She waved a hand dismissively.
"It's see through!" (f/n) exclaimed, pointing to it in the process. "I might as well just wear my underwear at that point," she added, and her eyes rolled.
"Well, you can if you want." Anita winked. "Tristan wouldn't mind."
Eyebrow twitching again, (f/n) tossed the dress at Anita. "Should I leave?"
"No, no." Anita giggled again and grinned. "Sorry." (F/n) hummed in doubt, which only caused Anita to become even more amused. "Anyway, what about the other one?" she asked as a faint, entertained smile remained on her lips.
Goodness, she was so done with the shopping trip, and it only just had begun. Her shoulders sagged a bit, but she looked to the dress nonetheless. Well, it wasn't see through so that was an improvement. Other than that, it was ... Yeah, just no. The dress was strapless and form-fitting. It maybe went to mid-thigh, and the material was grey satin. "Anita, is this a nightgown?" she questioned in a monotone voice with a deadpan expression.
"No!" Anita pouted a bit and pointed to the rack where more of the 'dresses' were placed.
Surprisingly, the label really did say dress on it. "Huh," she muttered out before she walked past Anita and put the dress back. "I wonder," she glanced to Anita with a slightly annoyed look, "did you even listen to me?"
"I did! But, I wanted to try to get you to wear something else." Anita crossed her arms. "You know that I couldn't resist that." (F/n) didn't seem convinced, and Anita huffed before she went back to searching. However, Anita's mood heightened again once she found a couple more dresses, and she tossed the articles of clothing over to (f/n). "Here you go!"
"Gee, thanks," (f/n) muttered, examining them. The first was knee-length and a fit-and-flare. Its fabric was a baby blue, and it had a bow at the waist. Simple and not terrible. Honestly, she might pick it out for herself. It even had butterfly sleeves. As for the second one, it was shorter than the first and a pale yellow with chiffon fabric over cotton. A black belt was around the waist, and it was a sleeveless pencil dress. To her, the choice was easy. "This one," she replied as she held up the blue one.
"Perfect!" Anita clapped her hands together and opened up the dressing room curtain. "Go try it on!"
Sighing, (f/n) stepped into the small room, and she closed the curtain shortly after. She changed out of her current clothes and into the dress. It didn't look bad on her, and she did actually like it. Almost, she was tempted not to get it so that Tristan wouldn't see her in it; she wanted to save it for Lee. But, Lee had chosen a dress for her for their picnic date. Not to mention that she might not get another decent option from Anita.
Stepping out from the dressing room, she called out to Anita since she had been glancing over other dresses, which were see-through again. Yeah, she made the right decision. Anita averted her eyes over to (f/n), and she grinned. "You look great! It'd be even better if it was shorter, but it'll have to do since you don't want it to be revealing." For a moment, Anita shook her head in disapproval, but she soon grinned again. "Well while you change, I'll keep looking for something for myself." (F/n) nodded and headed back inside the dressing room.
Once she came back out, she saw Anita with several dresses in her hands. "I won't be long," Anita stated before she went into a changing room to try on what looked to be about five dresses. (F/n) simply nodded and went to go pay for her dress, which thankfully wasn't too expensive. It was soon bagged, and she was somewhat tempted just to leave, but she forced herself to stay and seated herself on one of the plush chairs in the establishment.
Honestly, she didn't even know why Anita bothered to ask her opinion on the clothes. Anita wasn't going to take her opinion into account when selecting one. It probably was just to keep up appearances. Besides, Anita didn't even let her speak for too long to let her voice a decent opinion on each dress. Not that she minded; she could care less about what Anita wore tomorrow.
Eventually, Anita selected a strapless, fitted, black and light pink checkered dress, which went to the mid-thighs. Once she paid for it, they left the shop, and (f/n) headed for the café, but she got tugged back in the process. "Where do you think you're going, silly?" she questioned with a giggle.
"The café?" (F/n) furrowed her brows in confusion.
"We go shopping, and you want to go home already?" Anita raised a brow and acted like she hadn't heard (f/n) right.
"... Why?" (F/n) voice was cautious. "... What did you have in mind?"
Shaking her head, Anita rested her free hand on her hip. "Let's enjoy our time together. We don't do this too much anymore."
"That's because you go to the hotel each night," (f/n) reminded, forcing herself to laugh in a teasing manner. "Or, are you going to change that routine from now on?" She chuckled. "Should I cancel tomorrow since you won't be spending time with Kaleb anymore?"
Pout on her lips, Anita shook her head. "No, you know that's not happening." Exactly, which was why tomorrow would happen regardless of her previous words, and she only had felt comfortable suggesting the idea because she knew that Anita would refuse. "But today, I'm spending time with you." Anita grinned. "All night in fact." Wait, what?!
Momentarily, (f/n) was speechless. "I know." Anita smirked proudly. "Pretty great of me, right?" Maybe, it would've been in the past. Now, it was far from that. She had wanted to spend time with Lee, not Anita. Nearly, she sighed out in irritation.
"And, where did you want to go?"
"To the local market." Anita giggled and placed an arm around (f/n)'s shoulders. "We're going to be watching a movie tonight. Several even!" She pulled (f/n) close. "It'll be tons of fun!"
"Sure, I look forward to it." She would've rather had a movie night with Lee. In the past, a movie night with Anita would've been great, but it sounded dreadful now. "So, what snacks are you thinking?"
"Let's just go and see what sounds good as we walk through the aisles," she suggested, walking towards the destination. (F/n) almost tripped, but she caught herself in time and removed Anita's arm from her so that it wouldn't happen again.
As for Lee, he only expected (f/n) to come back to the café. When she did come back, and she was gone for longer than he had anticipated too, he saw that Anita was back too. That was an unpleasant surprise. He had been worried that Anita had dragged (f/n) off to the hotel due to the wait. So at least, it wasn't that, but he would've preferred Anita to be gone for the night.
Lee noticed the bags in their hands. He recognized the clothes bags versus the grocery ones, and he didn't have to wait too long for explanation. As they both walked by, (f/n) mouthed, "Movie night." So, Anita hadn't just come back to change and maybe grab a few things; she was staying the whole evening. How fun. When he reminded himself that tomorrow would be the big reveal, that made him less annoyed. He'd get to spend time with (f/n) after that.
By the time Anita glanced back to (f/n), (f/n) had shifted her focus back to Anita, and she was none the wiser to the brief exchange between the two. An excited grin was on Anita's lips. "So, what kind of movie?" (F/n) was about to suggest something, but Anita cut in, "Or, maybe, episodes from a show." Her eyes lit up. "What about a soap opera?" Truthfully, (f/n) thought that their own lives had become one. Well, a strange one since a living mannequin was involved. So, perhaps, that'd be entertaining to view.
"Sure. We can get in several episodes." (F/n) placed the bags she had down on one of the kitchen counters. "Unless you plan to head to the hotel." Anita shook her head, and (f/n) smiled when in reality she really was disappointed in that news.
