Prologue
From THE TREATY OF PENANCE:
As a punishment for their vital role in the Last War, each male and female between the ages of thirteen and eighteen shall be transferred to Enferme.
Each of these offenders shall be provided with caretakers. These caretakers shall be known as Guardians. Disobedience to the Guardians can be punishable by Death or any other treatments the Guardian deem fits.
Henceforth, and forever, this custom shall be known as The Keeping.
