Idea: Haruto Watanabe has been reincarnating since 1919 due to his desperation on finding his soulmate, Bang Yeri.
In his 5th reincarnation, the unexpected happen. He learned the reason why Kanemoto Yoshinori, a deity who has a goal to help Haruto, has been hiding the truth about his soulmate's existence.

May 1919
Torches and signs flooded the streets. People marched their way to the government's post while chanting, they were vocalizing their thoughts to the Japanese empire. Nothing new. It wasn't supposed to be a huge thing but seeing the scale. The citizens around the area closed their homes.
They knew it was trouble.
The moment they saw the huge banners with hand written text demanding for their freedom. It was clearly gonna end up bad since it has always been bad. The government doesn't know mercy, they were always cruel.
Haruto saw this first hand.
He was Japanese. Although he doesn't agree with the perspective his government has, Haruto kept quiet. Speaking up means death. Criticism means opposing. He will be labeled as a traitor and die in just one shot. That's why he went with the flow. Closing his own doors, shutting his windows, pulling down the blinds and curtains. He barricaded himself inside this small apartment. He knew the military will shoot the protestors. They just don't care. So if some of them make it, since there's not much hiding place within this radius, people with severe injuries might barge in his room anytime and what? If the soldiers find them, Haruto will be suspected as a spy and die, just like that. So yeah no thanks, Haruto is too young to die.
Sitting in his couch, apart from the riot outside, there wasn't any sound filling up the room. It was cold, dark and empty. Peaceful as it should.
He knew outside this box the roads are painted in red. But as an ordinary citizen, what can he do? He didn't have any power to help, he wasn't rich enough to supply them with anything and lastly, he doesn't have the position to meddle. To live as a bystander and hope for the best. That's all he could do. Haruto has more stuff he wants to try. To die this early would be a waste.
Hearing the explosions and guns outside, the screams and wails of the people as they die and run for their lives. It makes Haruto's heart deeply wounded but all he could do was close his eyes and cover his ears.
The question that wanders in his mind was "When will this end?"
The noise outside haven't toned down. Instead, the screams and footsteps were getting louder. The shots were getting closer and the aftershocks from the random explosions became more apparent.
With everything going on outside, Haruto's ears perked up. A sound was heard from his door. A faint knock, the very scenario Haruto tried so hard to avoid. He knew if he opens the door, he will be forced to orbit into something bigger.
He reached the doorknob but didn't open it. He was hesitating. He knew everything will go downhill the moment he opens the door.
"Ple-Please, help" Haruto's hand began trembling, tears started forming in his eyes.
"Please!"

Haruto woke up.
Like every other day, he started his morning routine. Brushing his teeth, washing up then dressing up for school. He is set to go to school.
As he walk pass through his own living room, Haruto's eyes landed on the photograph in the frame. A woman smiling along with the man who looks exactly like him. They were standing close to each other, it indicated their close relationship. Haruto felt his heart ache. He diverted his gaze towards the door and opened it.
Haruto left his home and walked to the streets, heading to his school.
When he arrived at the school grounds, he felt a weight on his shoulders and looked behind.
"Geez, slow down, you know i don't have much stamina" Yoshi panted.
Now on pace with Haruto, Yoshi felt restless seeing Haruto this quiet. Sure it might be a bit normal but there's an eerie aura surrounding the guy. Yoshi could tell something was wrong.
"You're quiet" Yoshi nudged Haruto's elbow, Haruto didn't react from the bump.
Being a nosy guy like he is, Yoshi dramatically sighed and pursed his lips "Can you tell me why you're so bummed out? Like-come on Haruto, I'm not a fortune teller you know"
"It's nothing" Haruto replied
"Oh okay so it's called let's keep this cool guy facade and keep Yoshi up all night till he bursts out and ring your doorbell at 4am route?"
"I'm not asking you to do that" Haruto held his backpack strap tighter.
Kanemoto Yoshinori, a creature from Japan. He is supposedly a god or something but yeah since Haruto did something to summon him out of nowhere, both of them are stuck in this situation. By that he means, Yoshi is linked to Haruto so whenever the guy reincarnates Yoshi will act as his personal cupid (or servant) in order to get his soulmate. Fantastic, isn't? Because these days there's nothing much to do if you are a Tsukuyomi in 21st century. So when Yoshi asked Haruto for a wish, Haruto answered he wanted his soulmate to be with him, he'll do whatever it takes.
Yoshi granted that wish.
And by doing it, there was a consequence. The curse given to Haruto was; he will remember everything from his first life to his current life.
At first Haruto thought it was more of a gift than a curse, but after multiple lives, he came to realize he also brought the pain with him. Haruto gradually realized it is indeed a curse. And somehow Yoshi is forced to watch everything because he's an immortal god with an unfulfilled wish from one of his believers.
Yep. He shouldn't have tried to look cool back then. Most importantly he shouldn't have meddled with a mortal's life.
"Well, Haruto, you know why i'm like this. You are not gonna do another depressive suicide like what you did last 1957"
"I was in a middle of a war, Hyung, they wanted me to die"
"They didn't, you were just an idiot"
"Well what do you want me to do? The generals clearly wanted me dead. Besides she died already" Yoshi got the hint. By 'she', Haruto meant his soulmate. All Yoshi could say is 'kids and their idealogy of love. It's quite pathetic to witness but he can't really do shit because Yoshi promised to grant it. He already promised to the skies, so Yoshi can't leave this situation even though he wants to.
"Ruto, stop being hung up on that person"
"I can't"
"You're acting like a kid"
"I never went past 24" That was enough to make Yoshi shut up.
Haruto walked faster, leaving Yoshi behind.
"Haruto.." Yoshi heavily sighed and followed his hopeless friend.
