I had wanted to hate Leo. This was the man who had neglected his family, specially Chris for years.
I couldn't though. Not with the way he was caring for my cousin, how he was keeping me company so I wouldn't fall asleep. I knew that if I did, my defenses would lower and Jake's potion would finally do its work easily.
My side felt numb. Sweat covered my forehead and I dabbed a towel in it to wipe the sweat, Leo doing the same with Chris and I watched intently at the concern in his eyes.
This was a father worrying. Did he know? Or at least sense that familiarity between them? He couldn't, right? He was still suspicious of us. But maybe subconsciously?
Or was I hallucinating right now?
I wasn't aware that I had dozen of until I felt gentle taps on my cheeks, opening my eyes, seeing Leo kneeling in front of me, giving me a worried look.
"Bree" Leo called, softly
"I'm awake" I mumbled, tiredly. Leo sighed, leaning back. I flickered my eyes to my cousin, "How's he doing?"
"I think you know" Leo said, grabbing my hand and placing Chris' engagement ring in it. I focused. Heartbreak. I sucked in a deep breath. Leo nodded slightly, seeing my reaction. "The girls have the potion and already worked on a spell for Jake"
Paige patted my head, smiling down at me. "Don't worry Bree-Bree, we're going to help you both"
Bree-Bree... Aunt Paige used to call me like that too.
Phoebe perked. "Don't feel sad, Bree. We're doing this for you" she said with furrowed eyebrows as if confused.
Right. She now was able to feel me and Chris.
Paige tilted her head, then shook her head. "Okay then. This is the plan, after we orb there, I'm gonna-"
I frowned slightly at the sudden shift on the sisters.
"You're gonna what?" Leo asked, seeing that she didn't finish.
Paige smiled, "I'm gonna move into Richard's house"
Piper stared at her sister, "Are you? Good for you"
"That's a great idea" Phoebe agreed. Leo and I exchanged a look, however I had the feeling what this was about, closing my eyes in dread. Now, the question was who cast the spell to lower their inhibitions? "And I think I'm gonna go check out what's going on in Hong Kong"
Paige grinned in support "Cool"
Leo frowned at them, "Hang on a second, this isn't you guys. You must be under some kind of spell, you have to fight this"
Phoebe sighed softly, dreamily "How can you fight your heart?"
Piper chuckled "Or your hormones"
Paige nodded in agreement "Yeah"
Phoebe turned to her sister "Will you drop me off on the way to Richard's?"
Paige held a hand to Phoebe "I would love to"
Phoebe grabbed her hands.
I watched silently and dread.
Leo wouldn't stay silent like I would "Paige, Phoebe, listen to me-"
Phoebe mocked saluted at us "Zay jen"
Paige orbed out with Phoebe
Piper hummed impressed, giving us a slight smile before walking out of the room.
Leo watched her go.
I spoke up. "If Chris and I knew a lot about you, so did Bianca and Jake" Leo turned to face me. "This spell? To get them out of the way. I'm truly sorry Leo. I guess they really are to get to us. I only wish to know why they'd become evil"
"You said they weren't" Leo reminded, "Look at what they did to you and Chris"
I half smiled, bitter and sadly. "My best guest is that someone doesn't want us to change the future"
Leo looked down thoughtfully.
I looked away and toward Chris.

~ 22 years or so in the future ~
The four of us stood outside the attic, Bianca reminding us what we had to do.
They shared one last kiss as Jake turned me to him, pressing a kiss on my cheek.
"I know you hold back because of your cupid side" He murmured. "And I understand" he pressed a small jar in my hand. "Here, take this. It'll hide your other half from everyone else. My way to protect you, gorgeous"
I glanced down at the potion and I wrapped my arms around Jake in a hug. "Thank you"
We pulled away, looking toward where Chris was staring at me with a expression I couldn't figure out.
"You're staying here" Chris said after a moment. I gaped in disbelief. Bianca and Jake looked at each other. "I'm not going to risk your life"
"Ha, Ha" I said dryly. "You're funny. For a moment there I thought I heard you saying that I was staying back despite of this being my plan in the first place"
Chris looked at me in frustration. "Me playing their whitelighter makes sense. What about you? Hmm?"
"Someone has to loosen up the stick you have up your ass" I replied bluntly.
"Bree" Jake stifled a grin.
Bianca looked away amused.
Chris glared at me. "I don't have-"
I interrupted, glaring back, "If someone is going to get the sisters to trust us, would be someone who can act nice and not neurotic so shut up. If you leave me behind I'm going after you anyway"
"Think about it, Chris" Bianca sided with me. "A witch and a whitelighter from the future saving them. It'll make sense if you think about it"
Chris sighed in frustration.
"Bree's protective shield and her power to skim through information can be of use" Jake said as well. "You two are Halliwells. Halliwells save the world together. Not just one. As family. You two are the only ones who can save us all"
"The spell will work" Bianca said, "And Bree can help you find it faster"
"You three suck" Chris murmured after a moment. I smiled in victory, looking at my best friends gratefully. "Okay. I'll be able to summon the Book but it won't be long before this place swarms with demons"
Jake and Bianca exchanged a look.
"We'll take care of that" Bianca said.
"We probably won't be able to stop them but we will give you enough time for you to go back" Jake told us.
"Remember to protect baby Wyatt at all costs" Bianca told us.
"And the Charmed Ones" Jake added, "Keep them alive for our future"
"No pressure there" I said sarcastically as we entered the attic.
I closed the door behind me, looking at my cousin who seemed to be doubting himself.
"Chris?" I asked, worriedly.
"I can't risk you" Chris said softly, one of the rare moments he showed vulnerability. "I can't let anything happen to you"
My eyes softened before I shook my head, "Wether or not you're letting anything bad happen to me, you know nothing else can be worse than what I've already went through"
Chris stayed quiet, sighing one more time before he turned toward the book would normally be placed.
We scanned the room tensely, exchanging a look as Chris took a deep breath, closing his eyes, chanting to summon the Book. "I call upon the ancient power, to help us in this darkest hour, let the book return to this place, claim refuge in its rightful space."
The Book of Shadows appeared in its original stand and I smiled softly at the familiarity I could feel within in and also proud of Chris because he did summon the book, just like he said he would be able to.
"The spell must be here" Chris reminded, flipping the pages of the book making me frown as I walked to him, standing next to him. "Help me up"
I focused, bringing my palm toward the book a few inches away from it, watching the soft glow glimmering through the pages as I concentrated.
Suddenly the pages started to flip by themselves until they stopped in a certain page.
I brought my hand down, immediately stumbling back. Chris, having expected the action steadied me, placing his hands on my arms, giving me a worried look "Wow, sorry. I still can't get used to so many info"
Chris sighed, rolling his eyes "Glad to know you're okay" he murmured before returning his gaze back to the spell.
A thud sounding from downstairs made us freeze. I looked up, fearfully meeting Chris' calm look. Bianca and Jake were down there.
"We knew this was going to happen" Chris reminded me. I nodded shakily. He gave me a chalk, "They're going to be okay. You know them"
I nodded, looking around toward the wall, walking over there and quickly drawing the symbol that would be useful for our portal.
"CHRIS!"
I gasped, meeting Chris gaze over my shoulder "Keep going" He told me, scribbling down the spell and ripping away the page from the book.
I stepped back, giving Chris space as he stood next to me, staring at the wall.
"BREE! I know you're around here as well! Show yourselves"
Chris seemed more worried about me, hearing his voice calling to me. That was dangerous.
We had done a lot to make sure he believed I was hiding after what he did to my sister.
We should have known he knew us very well as much as we knew him.
We were family after all.
"There's no time!" I exclaimed, shaking Chris' shoulder "Hurry yo ass!"
"No!" Chris snapped, looking back at me, going back on his word. I gave him a frustrated look. "I can't do it with you"
"There's no time to be all protective with me, Christopher!" I snapped back. "Chant the damn spell before I do it myself!"
Chris pursed his lips for a second before looking down and starting to chant the spell, grabbing my hand. Mid spell, I began to chant too so it'd be stronger the spell "Hear these words, hear the rhyme, heed the hope within my mind, send me back to where I'll find, what I wish in place and time"
My curious and fearful eyes watched the symbol's outlines starting to shine and suddenly the portal toward the past was opening in front of our own eyes.
I intertwined my fingers with Chris, both of us not saying a word as we ran toward the past.
This was it.
Our only chance to save our future.

~Present Time
I knew it was just a matter of time before Jake and Bianca came here to collect us. I simply closed my eyes, because there was no point to fight back with how weak I was, clenching tightly Chris' engagement ring in my hand.
I could hear Leo scolding the sisters to come back, but only I opened my eyes when a well dressed and pretty Piper walked in.
Good thing Chris wasn't conscious or he'd be hurt knowing his mom was heading out to see the firefighter Greg.
I gently and weakly waved because I didn't know what to do to stop her and considering she was under a spell, anything we said would be a waste of time.
Leo sighed in defeat when Piper walked away, leaving.
Just as the Charmed One left, Bianca and Jake shimmered in and I could only feel disgust at seeing the teleporting power Jake didn't use to have.
Bianca kicked off Leo in the head and seeing the scowl in her face I was certain that was for Chris.
Jake knelt at my side as Bianca reached Chris.
"Hey, gorgeous" Jake murmured softly, and I closed my eyes because that sounded so suspiciously like the Jake I knew.
"We're going home" Bianca announced.
I opened my eyes, seeing her shimmer out with my cousin and I widened my eyes, trying to reach out to them, but Jake intercepted my hand, pulling my closer to him in an embrace, feeling a wave of nausea for the shimmering.
It was worse than Chris' orbing for sure.
~8~
Bianca and Jake took us to a familiar apartment, if the portraits hanging around the walls didn't say much.
It was Blanca's family home.
"Just let us finish what we started" Bianca told us as she held her hand inside Chris' chest, draining him of his powers.
Jake had a hand over where he stabbed me, it was glowing slightly and I could feel the energy draining from me.
Jake had now a kind smile playing on his lips, though I knew it was fake. "There. You'll feel better soon, I promise"
I heard Chris take in a sharp deep breath, Bianca softly shushing him. "That's it. Easy does it" Jake pulled his hand back and I felt like crying. No more I could sense the world around me like I used to. I couldn't sense Chris. I couldn't feel our bond. I flickered my eyes to him, seeing him already looking back at me instead of Bianca, a crease in his eyebrows and I knew he was thinking the same way. Bianca pulled her hand out of his chest. "Slow breaths"
Chris reached out and I met his hand mid way, both of us holding each other tightly as we turned to face them. Bianca and Jake were already watching our interactions.
"What'd you do to us?" Chris demanded. He sounded better than earlier. He no longer looked pale, I didn't either feel weak, just... Different.
Bianca gave a little shrug of her shoulders. "We just saved your lives"
I scoffed. "By taking away our powers?"
Jake gave a little innocent smile as Bianca walked toward the wall, pulling off a picture frame, starting to draw on the wall with chalk.
Chris and I looked at each other.
"How are you gonna bring us back anyway?" Chris asked, his hand tense around mine. I squeezed, nervously watching Jake pull out a paper from his pocket. "That spell's a one-way door. It only goes backwards in time"
"He created a new spell because of you" Jake answered, looking up, waving the paper. "One that works both ways"
I smiled without humor, "I'm touched. Chris?"
"Yup" Chris smiled sarcastically, "Me too"
Bianca turned her head over her shoulder to talk to us, "You should be. He's gone to a lot of trouble to get you two back"
I glanced between the two of them, smiling sarcastically.
Chris voiced my thoughts out loud. "Yeah, we see that"
Bianca pursed her lips, "You know, you don't have to believe me, guys, but this really is for the best"
"Oh, really?" I asked, sarcastically curious. "How's that?"
"Because this is your only chance to live, gorgeous" Jake was the one to reply. "If we fail, he'll just keep sending more assassins back and all they'll have to bring home are two bodies"
Fabulous.
He sent the sympathetic ones.
Chris sighed, looking at me. "Doesn't matter. There's nothing left in the future anymore, anyway"
Cupid powers or not, I understand that tone, uncurling my hand that held Chris' ring and he nodded at me.
I locked eyes with Bianca as I put her engagement ring on the table.
That's right. Chris not doing it, or even looking at her when he broke up must be hurtful.
Well, at least would be if she had feelings or I was able to sense them.
~8~
Jake paced lazily in front of the wall with the drawing of the symbol, murmuring the spell to bring us back.
With this, I was certain he was the one to cast the spell on the sisters because, after all he was a warlock, unlike Bianca he could actually cast spells.
Chris and I stood side by side in front of the wall while Bianca stood in front of us.
"You really expect us to jump into this thing like before?" Chris asked.
Bianca smirked slightly, shaking her head "Not without a fight, no"
I remained silent, staring at my feet as Chris spoke, sounding slightly hurt.
"How can you be so cold?" Chris asked, but mostly to himself than Bianca "How can you just stand there and pretend like we never meant anything to each other. That you didn't befriend my cousin she considered you as the girl best friend she never had?"
Bianca sighed softly, "I don't have a choice. Neither does Jake"
I looked up at the teary sound that came from my cousin, the pleading, "Bianca, please don't do this. Don't give up on everything that we fought for"
Bianca remained silent for a couple of seconds. "I'm not. I'm just hoping we can find another way. Jake?" Jake nodded, stepping closer to me. "Ready?"
Behind us, I heard the very distinct sound of orbing, glancing behind us to see the sisters orbing into the apartment.
"Hey, future woman" Piper called, throwing a potion towards Bianca.
"Future boy!" Phoebe called mockingly starting a chant.
Bianca and Jake reacted fast.
Jake immediately shimmered behind Phoebe, placing a dagger in her throat, stopping her from chanting while Bianca threw a dagger of her own, destroying the potion mid air, using the shock of the movement to also shimmer behind Piper, while the woman froze the dagger mid air, Bianca grabbing the dagger, putting it on Piper's neck.
I gasped in concern, wanting to step forward but Chris held me back, pulling me to his chest. I grabbed his arm, trying to soothe myself.
"You were saying?" Bianca asked smugly.
"Can you repeat that, please?" Jake asked kindly at Phoebe but his expression was anything but.
I glared at him.
"Wow, they're good" Paige murmured looking at her two in danger sisters, not knowing who to save first, taking a step forward.
"Uh-uh" Bianca tsked, shaking her head
"I can kill her in half the time it takes you to even think about it. The same goes for him"
"Yeah, we still have enough potion to vanquish you" Paige told her, "And I have several spells coming to mind I can use for you"
Jake pulled his lip up, "Maybe. But... Are you really willing to risk destroying the power of three? What use just a Charmed One has to the world, Paige?"
Paige shifted uncomfortably.
Bianca chuckled. "You'd be surprised what's in the history books. Now put the viles down slowly"
"Guys" I called worriedly. "Don't"
"Let them go" Chris asked, softly, worriedly. The sisters looked shocked at the soft tone coming from Chris, this being the first time ever hearing it from him. "Do it and I promise the two of us will go with you"
Paige gaped in disbelief, noticing my nod of agreement. "Chris, Bree, what are you guys doing?"
But we didn't take our eyes from our moms in danger.
"If you kill them, there won't be a future for any of us to go back to and you know it" I told them.
Phoebe furrowed her eyebrows, speaking quietly due to the dagger at her throat. "What are you talking about?"
Bianca and Jake looked at each other, knowing we were right, letting go our moms.
"You'll see if you live long enough" Bianca replied as they walked toward us.
We turned to the wall.
"Piper, freeze them" Paige told her sister, "Maybe it won't work on Bree because she's a witch but she won't go if Chris doesn't, right?"
A moment of silent.
"Uh" I heard Piper began, hesitantly. "I get why they didn't freeze but why Chris didn't freeze?"
I looked up at my cousin.
He had a grimace on his face.
Cat out of the bag?
"I don't-" Phoebe began, gasping in sudden realization. She was always a smart one "Unless he's a-"
Chris turned to face them, "I'm a witch too" the revelation shocked them. He nodded, "That's right. Part witch, part Whitelighter. Just like you, Paige"
Paige looked between us, "You lied us?"
"He had to" I spoke up.
Chris nodded. "It was the only way I could get you to trust me. Bree? Well, she's a witch. Witches are easier to trust"
"Trust you?" Phoebe repeated.
"Never mind, it doesn't matter anyway" I told them.
Piper crossed her arms "So that's it? You're just gonna leave?"
"We don't have a choice" Chris told her. "They stripped our powers. Looks like Leo's gonna have to fix that floorboard without me" I frowned up at him. He gave me a pointed, discreet look. Oh. He had plan. He turned to Bianca and Jake "Let's go"
Jake waved a hand, activating the portal.
The four of us walked in.
Back to the world we had so desperately fought to save and we just failed.
~8~
As soon as we stepped out of the portal, right in the place where our trip began. In the attic.
Why was it always the attic?
We weren't alone, six demons were waiting for us.
I stiffened at the voice that rang between them, walking closer, the demons parting to let him walk closer "Welcome home, Chris, Parker"
Chris lifted his chin, holding an arm around my shoulders protectively, "Hello, Wyatt"
~8~
Your plan better work, Chris.
Wyatt looked at the demons surrounding us, walking closer to us. "They're no threat to me" The demons shimmered out. Only the three of us, Jake and Bianca remained. "Et tu, Chris? PB? Of all the people to betray me"
"Don't call me that" I snapped.
Chris placed his hands on mine, squeezing reassuringly. "We didn't go back to betray you, Wyatt. We went back to save you"
Wyatt laughed slightly in disbelief, "Save me? From what?"
"From whatever evil it was that turned you and made you the dick you are right now" I replied, scowling.
Wyatt looked amused at my choice of words. "Really, Bree?" he shook his head, "That's always been your problem, guys. Stuck in the old good versus evil morass. I'm so past that. It's all about power, it's as simple as that"
Chris tilted his head, "And whoever has the most power wins, is that it?"
"That's it" Wyatt nodded, "That's why I keep this museum in tact. To remind everyone the power from which I was born and that which I possess"
"Too bad the rest of the city isn't fairing as well as your little shrine here" I remarked.
Wyatt smiled without humor. "You know if anyone else tried what you tried, I'd kill them on the spot-"
"Or what you did to my sister" I spat.
Wyatt paused, a slight moment of actual regret in his eyes. I didn't believe it. Maybe I would have with my powers. "Prue wasn't always my favorite cousin, like you, P2. But you're right, that was unfair what I did to her. But she's doing well, she's safe from everyone else who'd may want to harm her" I could feel my eyes glimmer with tears. Prue was alive?? After all this time? Chris tensed, holding my shoulders tightly, as if warning me. "And I could take you to her, to see her, of course after I forgive you. I mean... I've forgiven Bianca and Jake, I can forgive the two of you too. If you promise never cross me again"
The offer was tempting.
But no.
This wasn't my cousin. My family would never use my family as a bargaining chip.
I shook slightly my head.
Chris relaxed his tense muscles, as if he was fearful we was going to lose me to see my sister.
I think Chris wouldn't blame me if I had agreed. If it was the other way and he was told his sister was alive after all this time and he could see her, maybe he would be tempted too.
"I think you know us better than that" Chris told him. "And using Prue against Bree like that was a dick move. No surprise there, though"
Wyatt stared at us momentarily before turning to Bianca and Jake "I thought you said you could talk some sense into them?"
"Leave them out of this" Chris and I snapped at him at the same time.
Wyatt scowled, raising his arm toward us.
Immediately, I felt my airwaves closing, a hand shooting up to my throat, choking for air, Chris looking as if he had the same predicament.
We reached out for each other.
Wyatt didn't let us have this moment of comfort between each other, "Pardon me?"
Wyatt flickered his hand, making us fly to different sides of the attic. My back crashed against a table, smashing it. Chris' fall was broken by one of the wooden shelves, falling to the floor.
Bianca turned to Wyatt, worriedly. "You promised you wouldn't hurt them"
"You two promised you'd turn them" Wyatt countered, looking between the two of them, seeing the way Jake was making his way toward me in concern, "It's like I turned you, or at least I thought I had"
Bianca went to Chris, and I wanted to hear what she was saying to him but Jake talking to me, distracted me.
He knelt in front of me, cupping my cheeks as I slowly stood to my knees, my body aching slightly. "B, sweetheart. Come on, darling. I didn't bring you here so he could kill you both"
I grabbed his hands, pulling them down, taking a deep breath. "Don't worry. I know what we're doing" I noticed Wyatt stepping on the squeaky floorboard, snapping my eyes up to meet Chris' gaze on the other side of the room. "I think"
We exchanged pointed looks.
The first one getting to the floorboard wins.
I pushed Jake away from me as Chris nodded at me, running fast towards Wyatt. Wyatt picked him up, throwing him across the room.
I grabbed broken pieces of the table, throwing them towards Wyatt's back.
Wyatt turned to me, incredulously. "Have you two really lost your minds?"
One of the wooden sticks he stopped mid air, throwing it my way.
I ducked, hearing the way the wood got impaled behind me in the wall.
Jake straightened up as Chris ran forward to get Wyatt's attention away from me, being successful, but now Chris was being levitated, a strong telekinetic grip on his throat.
I discreetly made my way toward the squeaky floorboard under Wyatt, missing the nod exchange from Bianca and Jake as Bianca ran past me, jumping into Wyatt's back, making him lose concentration on Chris, dropping him.
"Whatever you're gonna do, do it fast" Bianca exclaimed, restraining Wyatt. "I can't hold him for long"
I dove over for the floorboard, seeing Jake send a energy ball towards the wood in front of me, destroying the floorboard and making it easier for me to grab the piece of paper inside, Chris crawling over my side.
I opened the spell, both of us immediately chanting. "Powers of witches rise, come to me across the skies, return my magic, give me back, all those taken from the attack'."
A blue light washed over us, and suddenly I felt my powers back.
The bond between Chris and I stronger than ever.
Jake and Bianca... They were back.
Hearing us chant, Wyatt turned to face us, kicking Bianca hard, sending her across the room, landing on a broken table leg.
No!
I felt the pull, the pain of a loved one getting hurt.
"No!" Chris cried out, and I touched my heart at his heartbreak as he waved his hand at Wyatt, sending him flying across the room.
"Bi!" Jake exclaimed in horror, following after Chris as he ran to his fiance.
But unlike Chris, Jake couldn't make it over, an energy ball hitting him in the chest.
"Jake!" I exclaimed in pain, seeing him fall down in front of me, smoke raising from his chest and I crawled his way, feeling my eyes burning with tears. "No, no, no, no. Please"
"Detach yourself, gorgeous" Jake managed to gasp as I could see the paleness in his skin. "Don't fall with me"
"Please, you can't die" I cried lowly, seeing through my corner of my eye how Chris stood, running toward the Book of Shadows.
"Save the world, princess" Jake said weakly, in pain. I rested my forehead on his. "We'll see each other again. But only if you and Chris save our world. Go"
I pressed a kiss on his forehead, letting my eyes glow pink so he could feel some of my love, seeing the smile beginning to grow in his face as he closed his eyes.
"'Hear these words, hear the rhyme, heed the hope within my mind-" I snapped my head up, seeing Chris chanting, holding tightly the spell. That's right. We had to make sure Wyatt wouldn't be able to send more demons after us. I stood as a energy ball went Chris' way, distracting him briefly from the spell, ducking so it wouldn't hit him. I formed my own energy ball, it's pink color pulsing with energy I sent Wyatt's way. Both brothers looked my way, my puffy eyes, tear tracks running down my cheeks glaring at Wyatt. Another energy ball formed in his hand, I pulled up my hand, forming a shield around Chris. He smiled gratefully at me, continuing the spell as the energy ball bounced off from him. "-'Send me back to where I'll find, what I wish in place and time"
The portal opened, glowing brightly.
Chris ripped off the spell from the book, running to me, grasping tightly my wrist, pulling me toward the portal while I protected us with my shield, running into it.
~8~
Back to the past, Chris and I landed hard on the floor, rolling a bit, panting as we relaxed a bit.
"Oh, my God" Paige exclaimed. I flinched slightly, having not expected them to be here, even though they did save our asses. "Are you two okay?"
Chris sighed, in slight pain, "Yeah, we're fine" he stood, walking to me, offering me his hand. I accepted it, letting him pull me up. "Nice spell"
Phoebe sounded confused, "Yeah, but we just put it in there like two seconds ago"
Leo began to explain, "Yeah, well, you see, the way time travel works-"
Phoebe wouldn't have it, hands on her temples "Yeah, I don't wanna know, I already have a little headache. Thanks"
Piper turned to face us, serious though she did seem a little taken back at my expression, softening slightly but not enough to stop her from questioning us, "You have some serious explaining to do, young man. Young Lady"
I licked my lips.
Chris sighed, "I know. Listen, I'm sorry I lied to you. I really am, but-"
"No, no buts" Piper waved a finger at us. "It's about time you tell us the truth, now"
We grimaced.
"We can't" I said softly.
"But not because we don't want to" Chris continued quickly, "But because there's only so much we can tell you without the future being changed too much"
Like the fact if we tell you we're your children, you'd do things differently and we take the risk of not becoming the people we are today.
"Um, isn't that your whole point?" Paige pointed out. "To come and change the future?"
"Well, yeah" I said, scratching the back of my head. "But that was supposed to be more like a surgical strike"
"To save Wyatt" Leo stated, his suspicion of us slowly disappearing, seeing us with new eyes.
We nodded. "To save Wyatt"
Phoebe frowned. "What about Bianca and Jake?"
Pain.
I sucked in a deep breath, looking away.
Chris looked more stoic but my powers were in tune with him I could feel his heartache, "They won't be a threat to anyone anymore"
And if I could sense him, most likely Phoebe could too... And me.
Phoebe looked sympathetic, touching her chest, looking between us, "I'm sorry"
"We are too" Chris told her, slightly nudging my arm. I looked up at him. His lips twitched in a reassuring look. I rested my head on his shoulder. Phoebe watched our interactions, head tilted aside and with a soft smile. Chris looked at them, "So you guys still alright with us hanging around here?"
Leo was the first one to answer, surprisingly "Absolutely" He gave us a warm but serious look. "The next time you're in trouble you gotta tell us. Trust works both ways"
We were still in the game.
We could still save our world.
Chris and I nodded, "Okay"
We held hands, walking out of the attic.
Walking to my room from the attic we had to pass Piper's room where Chris stopped and pulled me back with him.
Inside the room, baby Wyatt was in his playpen, oblivious to our staring.
My hand clenched into my side, glowing slightly as if an energy ball wanted to form.
"If we can't save you-" Chris began, jaw locked tightly, glancing my way and at the fire on my eyes. He gave my hand a squeeze, the glowing stopped and I took a deep breath, "-I swear to God we'll stop you"
And that's a promise, I thought to myself, nodding.
