Hyunjin's pov
"Phaedera" I thought as I arrived at the temple of Artemis
I stopped in front the big doors and I looked back to Lyria
"You have to stay here, girl" I said and lowered myself to her level
Lyria put her head on my legs and squeaked quietly
"It's okay, girl I won't leave and now they are going to take you away from me and if they do, they will have a big problem" I said while I petted Lyria
"Now stay here and I'll be back soon I promise" I said and Lyria looked up and nodded
"When I am back We are going to play or maybe hunt? How does that sounds?" I asked her
She nodded happily so I got back and I went to the big doors knocked on it. I looked a last time back to Lyria who was laying on the ground waiting for me
"Maybe I didn't tame a weird wolf" I thought and smiled
Then the door got opened
"Phaedera is waiting for you, Hyunjin" A woman said
I sighed
I entered the temple and the doors closed and two womens leaded me to Phaedera
And there she was, walking back to forward praying to Artemis
"Our great leader, Hyunjin has arrived" a woman said and they got on knee with their head down
Phaedera looked up and saw me
"Thank you for bringing Hyunjin to me, Hestia and Pandora. You both may leave" She said
"Ofcourse our great leader and our pleasure great leader" they both said
The womens left Phaedera and me alone
"Hyunjin, come here" she said and she turned her back to me
I walked to her and I could Phaedera quietly praying
I stood beside her in front of the statue of Artemis with a altar
"Do you know why shouldn't join others fight?" She suddenly asked
"No, leader" I said
"Artemis gifted us the same powers as her, archery, talking to wild animals and the most important of all, eternal youth" She said and grabbed a few wildflowers
"But what has that to mean with fight?" I asked her
"If we fell in love or we got slain in battle. We will lose our youth" She said
"Why are you saying this?" I asked her
"I was trying to save you from that mercenary but instead you went after him" she said
"But look what we did, we defeated him and got him captured and we know the truth was he was doing here in our lands. Just look" I said as I grabbed the bounty letter and I gave the letter to Phaedera
"It can't be I thought I killed that man" she said
"What do you mean? Can you tell who are the followers of Ares?" I asked
"The followers of Ares are small group terrorist who worshipped Ares, the god of war. They are terrorising our lands.
Long time ago, I was just a member of the daughters when we got attacked by the followers of Ares. We fought hard against them but they were with many
Eventually we won against them and I killed their leader at least I thought
Not long after I became the leader of Daughters of Artemis" She said and she looked to the statue of Artemis
"We have to end them for always" I said
"We can't and we won't" she said
"Why?" I asked her
"I don't want to lose more sisters. I already lost many, I still can see their lifeless bodies" she said with pain in her voice
"But Phaedera were are stronger then before and we can take revenge for our fallen sisters" I said
"I won't change my mind" she said
"If we don't do anything they will find us and eventually end us one by one then there will no more daughters of Artemis" I said
"Shut it, Hyunjin! Listen to your leader I know what's the best for us" She suddenly raised her voice to me
And that snapped me out of patience
"You don't! You don't know what's the best for us. You only think of yourself" I raised my voice to her
"How dare you to raise your voice in front of Artemis and m-
"Just save your words, Artemis may chose you to be our leader but that doesn't mean we have to follow you! I can even be leader, I only follow a true leader and my true leader is Artemis" I said with anger and I walked away from her and I went back to the doors
"Don't you dare to leave or else" she dared
"Or else what? Cage me up?" I scoffed
"If you do one last thing bad, You will be banished from the Daughters of Artemis and you will be nothing for us anymore" She said
I looked one Time back at her and opened the doors and left
When I was outside I closed the door and I saw Phaedera on ground, on her knees, was she crying?
Lyria barked and came to me and I petted her head
"Come Lyria" I said and Lyria followed me
Few days later
Phaedera and another few sisters went to sanctuary of Artemis. I was left alone with few other sisters
I was currently on my knees in the temple in front of the statue of Artemis
"Oh Artemis please hear me" I whispered
"What should I do? Great huntress of nature" I asked to Artemis and prayed
"May Artemis of the woodland, mistress of beasts, guardian of all innocent and wild be with us. We honor you and praise your might" I said
I last tone bowed for her and I went back to the big doors
"Hyunjin" I suddenly heard someone calling my name but when I looked back I saw nobody only the statue of Artemis and I looked to it
I shrugged it off
"Hyunjin" again I heard someone calling but it didn't bother me anymore maybe it's the wind
I went to the hut where the mercenary was caged
When I came inside I saw him tied up sitting against a wooden pole
He looked up
"You malaka" he cursed
"Shut up, tell me what does the followers of Ares want from us?" I asked
Ofcourse, he didn't answer me
"What does the followers of Ares want from us?" I asked him again a bit annoyed
I pulled out my knife and put against his throat
"Last time, what does the followers of Ares want from us!" I demanded
"Your leader, dumb bitch" he said
"Why?" I asked him
"They want revenge more I don't know, really" he said
I put my knife back
"What do you know more?" I asked
"They know that your people are going to the sanctuary of Artemis" he said and the last few words made my eyes widened
