*CHARLOTTE'S POV*
I wake up and see Kate, Derek and Edward in the room and it is darker now. It might be around 7 p.m.
"Hey. For how long have I been out?" I ask looking at both of them in my sleepy voice. Kate leaves before any one of them replies. She might be here to clean everything up.
"Well, you slept just before Edward got here; around 5pm. And now it's 7, so not that long." I was right I think to myself as Derek replied.
"I am sorry Edward. You came and I was asleep." I say sadly. I don't like wasting any second I have with him because I have a feeling there won't be many more.
"Hey it's okay. I liked watching you sleep. You look so peaceful. And it's good seeing you this quiet once in a while." He loves teasing me. I hit him playfully.
"I see you have all your strength back." He says rubbing the area where I hit him.
"Who said I ever lost it?" I raise my eyebrows at him and he throws off one of his playful smirk at me, making me smile.
"Should I leave?" Derek asks looking between us.
"No of course not." I say as I feel sorry for Derek. He has to listen to us talk like this all day which might be very awkward for him.
"Well that depends. Would you be okay with seeing me naked?" Edward asks Derek in a fake serious tone.
I click my tongue and open my mouth to say something but Derek cuts me off. "I wouldn't mind." Edward looks at him in horror as his joke back fired.
"I am kidding. Calm your balls. I am straight, and even if I wasn't, you wouldn't be my choice."
I burst out laughing at their banter. Edward just looks at him with a nasty look on his face, "Not that funny, Charlotte."
"It was see." I say pointing at my face. Derek joins me and Edward just stares at us but then his smirk is back.
"Well I got you something but since you won't stop laughing on me I will take it back." He says with a sigh and starts walking towards the door. Oh no. I know he'll give it to me anyways and is just doing this to keep his leftover pride but I need to see what he got me. I stop laughing and gesture towards Derek to make him stop laughing, which he somehow does.
"Hey!! Come back and show me what you got me, drama king." He does as I said and heads back stand beside my bed. He starts to unbutton his pants and I giggle as Derek shouts and covers his eyes.
"Well it's nothing I haven't seen before and might I say I absolutely love this gift." I say as lust fills both our eyes.
"As much as I love naughty you, this isn't the gift for right now. Let's save this gift for later, when you are perfectly fine."
A frown appears on my face but I recover soon as I realize he has another gift for me. Derek drops his hand from his eyes at this and throws a pillow at Edward, which he catches easily.
"You guys are so horny," he says as he fake retches.
"Can't disagree." I say through giggles. Edward sits beside me on the bed, reaches into his pocket and pulls out a little jewelry box.
OMG. What did he get me? He hands me the box as I look at him with shock. I open the box with shaky hands. In the box is a shining silver chain with a pendant. The pendant is a silver test tube with little shimmer all over it which makes it shine like it's diamond.
"Wow. I love it so fucking much, Edward. It's so beautiful and the pendant is just too cute. It shows how we met. And also our chemistry of lust." I say looking up at him and he smiles at the last words.
"Yeah it does. Now let me fasten it up for you, please?" He says as maroon rushes into his cheek.
"Of course, here." I hand the chain to him and he helps me to sit up on the bed. I turn towards my right and pull my hair aside. He ties it around my neck and I touch it. I am pretty sure it looks absolutely amazing around my neck.
"Here it's done. Now show it to me," he says and I can hear the happiness but nervousness in his voice.
I turn around to show it to him. "It looks so fucking gorgeous on your perfect neck. Doesn't it?" He asks as he touches the pendant and trails a finger around it. I shiver at his touch, for which I am yearning right now. Before I know what I am doing I smash my lips against his and he kisses me back passionately and deeply.
But the moment doesn't last longer than 10 seconds as Derek coughs making his presence reminded while Edward and I make out on my hospital bed. Edward and I pull back breathless, gasping for air. I smile at him like he is the only thing on this planet and he flashes his hot boy grin.
"Derek, you got me my favorite flowers with a very lovely note which I will preserve forever and you Edward, got me the perfect necklace. I don't know how much my heart can handle." I say grinning like an idiot.
"Well babe, it was nothing. Just a gesture from your sweet best friend and the boyfriend with BDE."
Edward looks at Derek like he might just kill him. There was so much in that one line which might make Edward do so. First, Derek called me 'babe'. Second, he called me Edward's girlfriend, which I am not sure I am, yet. Last but not the least; he talked about Edward's BDE.
"Oh my God, chill man. Candy didn't tell me anything about you guys' fun time or about your buddy's size..ish. I was just teasing you, which I by the way absolutely love, so get habitual to it." Derek says and shrugs innocently. God this is so embarrassing. This proves I talk about Edward's dick with my friends.
Edward just shakes his head. "Charlotte, have you been bragging about my BDE in front of your friends?" Edward asks smirking at me with pride in his eyes.
I blush at his question at first but then I just reply innocently, "Well, I like to show off what's mine." I wink at him.
"What's yours? A bit possessive, aren't we?" Edward asks as he bites the inside of his mouth. Rarest moment of all; Edward's nervous.
"Well what's mine is only mine. And that's applicable to you too Derek." I say looking at Derek.
"I am absolutely flattered." Derek says batting his eyelashes at me. I throw a pillow at him which hits him right in face. Edward seems to enjoy this a bit as he laughs his contagious laugh. "Wait till your fine again. I won't leave you like that."
"Of course you won't. I will wait." I say as I laugh crazily. I don't care how I act around them both and it absolutely amazes me.
"Just keep your man away or he might get jealous." Derek winks and Edward narrows his eyes at him.
"Hey you guys. I am not that special. Stop fighting over me." I say proudly.
"Well you're not wrong. You aren't that special." I give Derek a nasty look.
"Kiss me Edward." I say with an attempt to tease him.
"Alright alright. No need to be all kissy. You know you are very special." I smirk at him.
"Well, you're back on line."
"Yeah yeah." He says with a baby face which makes me laugh.
*NEXT DAY*
It's 12 in the noon which means I will be discharged now. Just then Kate comes in with Edward and Derek. "Let's change your bandage before you are discharged."
"Yeah Kate, thanks." She smiles at me before taking off my previous bandage. Edward and Derek are talking between themselves, which I can't hear, weird. Soon, they both leave the room, without telling me. Wow.
"Am I still bleeding?" I ask as she disposes the old bandage.
"Only a little which is normal. Now after tomorrow, there shouldn't be any blood so keep track of it. If any problems, report to the hospital immediately." Kate explains as she prepares the new bandage with an ointment.
"Okay I will do." I smile at her as she applies another ointment on my injury. She ties the bandage after rotating it twice around my head which hurts a little but not much. "There you go."
"Thank you for the past two days Kate. You are a lovely person." I thank Kate and I mean it. She really is a nice person.
"It's my duty but thank you Charlotte. You are really nice too. Hope that Edward treats you well." She says and winks as she cleans up the table.
"Yeah he does." I smile at her.
"If you'd like we can have girls' day one day, as friends and not when I am your nurse." She suggests with a hopeful grin on her freckled face.
"Of course we can. Just feed your number into my phone and I will text you." I say as I hand her my phone.
"Yeah sure, but we will only go on one condition." She says looking at me. I nod for her to continue. "You have to let me drive the car." She says.
I laugh at this and she joins, "Yes sure. I will allow that."
We exchange numbers and she heads out to find Edward and Derek so that they can take me home. They both enter, dressed in fresh clothes. They might have got them before I woke up. "Ready to go home, Candy?"
"Yes, more than ready. Take me home." I say as desperation takes over me.
"Why do you always call her 'Candy'? Her name is Charlotte." Derek looks at me as Edward asked him the question. I smile at the memory.
"Charlotte? Where are you?" I heard Derek, coming up as I ate my candies as tears streamed down my face. He walked in my room. "Charlotte? Where are you?" He repeats.
"Here." I said from where I was hiding, in my closet between my clothes.
"Hey, what happened to you?" He asked as he sat on the floor beside me.
"My crush whose name I won't tell you just went out with this new bitchy girl and I got my period so I needed this." I said as I shoved another candy in my mouth. Derek took away the candies from me and stashed them somewhere but I couldn't see where as tears blurred my vision.
"Oh god let me tell you one thing Charlotte. Never cry for a guy, we aren't worth the tears of pretty and awesome girls like you. Especially, don't cry for a guy you have never even talked to. If they don't care about what you're feeling and you have to explain it to them again and again, then just fuck them." He completed and wiped my face with his hands.
"Awww. Thank you so much Derek. I wish he was more like you." I said between ugly laughs and sobs.
"Well you know who is more like me?" I shook my head. "Me?" He answered like it was too obvious.
"Well, I know but I don't think I can ever like my best friend even if he is as nice and caring as you. If I could, life would be a whole lot simpler right now."
"Well, we'll see in future where this crush takes you. Now stop eating candies and come with me. We will miss our movie." He got up and extended his hand for me to take. I took it and got up.
"But I love candies." I said with a pout.
"Well, so I will call you 'Candy' from now, which will be our little secret." His words made me smile for the first time in those horrible couple of hours.
"I like that."
"Well she was mad at the guy who was her crush at that time because he went out with some other girl, even though they were just 13. So she was binge eating candies and I found her ugly crying with them and that's how she got that name." I cover my face with my hand with embarrassment as Derek finished.
"That was an interesting story Charlotte." Edward says. I expected him to laugh at me but he didn't, he is smiling.
I peek at Edward through my fingers and blush before looking at Derek. "It was supposed to be our secret, you dick."
"But he deserved to know that." Well I guess he is right.
"I hate it when you're right."
"Wait, who was this crush Charlotte? Was he in our school? And is he still?" I flush at Edward's question as both of them don't know that it was Edward only and he went out with this girl named Danielle, who has moved out now.
Suddenly Derek's face lights up, "Wait. You said you've liked Edward since forever, and you never told me the name of that candy crush of yours. So, I guess it was Edward?" Oh god. How did he connect those dots?
I bury my face in my hands and murmur, "Yeah, it was." They both burst out laughing. I flip them both and stand up from my bed. "Fuck you both."
"Anytime?" They both say in sync yet again.
"Oh God. Let's go home before you guys rip each other's heads off.
"Yeah that's probably a good idea." Derek says and they both help me to the car's back seat. Edward sits with me in the back while Derek drives his car to my place.
We reach in 30 minutes. The car ride was silent and peaceful and i absolutely love it as the wind soothed my soul. I hated being inside for whole two fucking days. it was exhausting on so many levels. "I don't know if my OCD would be able to handle the way the house might be looking right now" I say as Derek parks the car in the driveway.
"Don't worry we kept it clean enough." Derek says as he opens the car door for me and Edward.
They both share a look before unlocking the door to the house. I don't know why they have been acting so sus. The door opens and everything looks different. The living room is decorated with flowers and balloons and a big 'welcome back' sign. I enter inside and take in everything.
"Awww, it's so awesome you guys. You both did this?"
"Yes we did. Hope you liked it." Derek says expectantly.
"I don't just like it. I fucking love it." I engulf both of them in a group hug. They both not only hug me back but also hug each other. They are starting to not hate each other so that's good.
Suddenly someone barges in through the main door making us all look at the door, breaking our hug. It's Ollie, with flowers in her hand. She runs up to me and throws her arms around my shoulder.
"Oh, I really missed you, babe." She says as she pulls back and eyes me.
"I missed you too girl." She hands me the flowers. "Here." I smell them and I love their natural fragrance.
"They are very pretty." I say as I sniff them one more time.
"Just like you." She winks at me making me smile. Oh, I really missed her. She couldn't visit me as she was busy with her cheer leading squad and if she missed it she would be out of it.
She walks over to Edward and Derek and extends her hand towards Edward, "Hey, I am Ollie. We've never officially met but I know everything so you better don't hurt my best friend or you will be dead. Understood?" She warns him and passes him a big smile.
She then extends her hand to Derek and her eyes light up. "Oh you might be that Irish ex neighbor best friend, Derek."
He takes her hand and nods. "Oh yeah that ought to be me. I remember seeing you coming to Candy's house. You grew up to be gorgeous." At this she looks back at me and gives me an evil smile. I smile as I interpret her intentions.
"Well, you're also hotter than I remember. Just your American accent is a disappointment. I was expecting a sexy Irish accent." Edward and I laugh out loud at their little encounter.
"Well, sorry to be a disappointment but I grew up here so I never picked up the Irish accent." Derek says as he narrows his eyes like he's trying to understand her. Oh honey, that isn't easy at all.
"Oh that's okay, I guess I will still like you."
"I am flattered."
Edward comes to me and smile and kisses me on the cheek. "I will see you later okay, you guys can catch up. Cassie might be waiting for me."
"Who is Cassie?" I ask as jealousy takes over me, which doesn't go unnoticed by him as he softens up.
"She is my sister. I live with her." Relief fills my entire body as he completes.
"Okay! I have some questions to ask you. Be here by 5:30, with your books." I wink at him.
"Okay ma'am. I will be here on time. You have my number too now, so you know where to text me." Edward says as he walks over towards the front door.
"Yes I do. See you soon. And thank you for everything." I say grateful of everything.
"It was nothing. Take care. Laters babe." He says and leaves in a hurry.
