TW// Vomiting.
[Third pov - Wednesday, 7:46pm]
Once he had seen Ranboo's condition, Phil immediately grabbed the first aid kit. After greeting and hugging his adoptive sons, Phil had told them to leave Ranboo, Riley, and him alone. They obeyed and went to their rooms upstairs.
"Hi, mate." Phil's energy gave the two a warm welcome, the light in his eyes couldn't go unnoticed.
Ranboo tilted his head down, keeping his face blank. Meanwhile, the little sister of his had a grin from ear to ear. Phil passed Riley a bright smile before opening the first aid kit.
"Listen," Phil softened his tone, getting an antiseptic wipe from the kit he held. "You don't have to tell me what happened, okay? Let me clean your wounds at least."
Ranboo glanced at Phil, forced a smile before nodding. Ranboo was definitely uncomfortable, but not nearly as scared as he had been a few hours earlier.
Phil made it clear to Ranboo and his sister that they don't have to do or say anything they aren't comfortable with. He treated Ranboo's wounds the best way possible.
"Don't worry about anything for now," Phil said, clicking the first aid kit shut. He squashed the used wipes and band aid wrappers into the palm of his hands. "You're safe here, there's enough room for both of you. For today though, I think it's best you sleep in Tommy's room. I haven't cleaned out the extra room yet, I don't want you two to be sneezing all night from the dust. There's a bunk bed in Tom's room you both can share. Is that okay?"
Ranboo concentrated his eyes on Riley, watching her nod and doing the exact same.
Ranboo cleared his throat. "Thank you, Phil," he said. "I- I'm sorry-"
"No, you don't have to be sorry. We're more than happy to have you here."
With that, Phil got up and walked to the kitchen, which was by the front door. The three-storey house was quite large, two living rooms, five bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor.
"Let me know when any of you want to shower," Phil spoke from the kitchen, "I can bring you extra towels and some clean clothes. Also, dinner will be ready soon, hope you both can join us for that."
Although he wasn't exactly being forced to eat with them, Ranboo felt a wire of nervousness trail down his spine after Phil's statement. Ranboo and Riley talked to each other, trying to make themselves comfortable in this new environment. Almost 10 minutes go by when a tall british gentleman walks through the front door, with a guitar bag behind his back.
"Will, hey," Phil greeted, setting some vegetables on the pan into a glass canister. "How was practice?"
Wilbur put his arms on Phil's shoulders before replying, "it was fun but tiring."
The brunette walked into his room which was the only room downstairs. He had placed his guitar bag on the floor gently, before taking off his beige coloured coat and putting it on his bed.
"By the way," Phil brought up as Wilbur walked back out, "Ranboo and his little sister will be staying with us."
"Little sister," Wilbur repeated curiously, spotting them in the living room. "Well, hello, there."
Ranboo defintely looked less anxious than he was earlier, that the emotions he felt were unnoticeable to Wilbur. He put on a fake smile, getting ready to introduce his sister to a friend. Riley's been like a dog with two tails ever since she got into the SBI house.
"What's your name?" Wilbur asked.
"I'm Riley," she introduced, "and you're Wilbur Soot."
"Why, indeed I am. Nice to meet you, Riley." Wilbur faced his friend and greeted, "hey, Ranboo."
"Hi, Will."
"How long are you guys staying for?"
"Until they get sick of us," Phil muttered sarcastically from the kitchen.
Wilbur let out a light chuckle. "We can be quite annoying and noisy sometimes."
Phil set a few plates on the dining table right by the kitchen. "All right, dinner's ready. Could you call your brothers for me, Will?"
Once Wilbur left to go upstairs, Ranboo checked on Riley.
"Are you okay being here, with everyone?"
Riley smiled happily. "I'm comfortable."
"Tell me if you need anything, okay?"
Riley nodded. "Are you okay? No lying."
"Mentally," Ranboo sighed, "I'm fine. Physically, I feel like throwing up even thinking about food."
"Just eat as much as you can, Brother."
Once all of them were downstairs, they ate dinner. The conversations they had were mainly about Riley, and Ranboo was fine with that since he didn't feel comfortable speaking about his father. Riley told them that she had watched most of their streams and videos, that she watched the horror game Tommy played on Monday with Ranboo.
"Wait, really?" Tommy had questioned many times out of surprise.
Ranboo lets Riley talk to them, feeling glad she's okay with being around his friends. However, this will take a while for Ranboo to get used to. Ranboo ate half of the food on his plate before giving it to Riley. She looked hesitant to eat it, but Ranboo would not budge.
"Please, Rye, if I eat any more I will just throw up."
Riley gave in, switching her empty plate for Ranboo's half eaten one. After dinner, Tommy gave Ranboo and Riley a tour of the house. Then, he opened his room door.
"There's the bunk bed," Tommy spoke before getting cut off by Riley's shout.
"I claim top bunk!" She dashed blissfully to the top bunk of the bed.
Ranboo couldn't refrain himself from smiling at his younger sibling. He walked in defeat to the bottom bunk, eyeing the closed curtain beside it. He saw the view in his imagination even before his fingers touched the fabric, yet those moments of it opening brought a better reality of the view. The night sky was aglow with bright city lights, twinkling stars stretched to infinity. It was almost eerie how he could see so much, so clearly, from behind a glass pane. A warmth of calmness spread through his chest. Ironically, the feeling that things would be okay made him slightly uneasy.
After a shower and a change of clothing, Riley and Ranboo tucked in their beds, opposite to Tommy's. Riley fell asleep within minutes while Ranboo certainly couldn't sleep, even though he knew his body needed it desperately. A sour rot kept creeping into his belly.
You ate too much
The voices. Ranboo had hoped they'd leave when he left the house...but apparently not. It did drastically get better, though. Ranboo knew that. He sat in the darkness for what felt like a few minutes, processing everything that happened in the past 24 hours. Trying to accept it. Checking his phone, the time read '2:00AM'. That couldn't be possible, could it? A burning sensation choked his throat, making him tear up.
Any lingering haze of sleep had already vanished from Ranboo's mind. He got up instantly and sneaked out Tommy's room. He knew Riley was a deep sleeper, that she definitely didn't notice Ranboo going out. He just hoped Tommy was a deep sleeper too.
[Tommy's pov]
I woke up facing the wall next to my bed, the light from outside shone in. Someone went out or came in. I was too tired to wake myself up, but when I heard retching from afar, I couldn't bring myself to fall back asleep. I looked over to the bunk bed and saw that the bottom one was empty. I went out of the room, facing the bathroom door until it opened. Ranboo looked at me.
"Want water?" I asked, he nodded and followed me downstairs.
"Sorry for waking you up," He uttered.
"It's fine," I answered, filling a glass with water.
"I thought I was a good liar," Ranboo brought up. "How did you find out about everything?"
I smiled, giving him the glass. "I'm just so fucking smart."
"Of course," he rolled his eyes playfully, gulping down some water. "No but actually. What gave it away?"
I took a deep breath, really thinking. "Look, I'm no detective, but when I put how weird you were acting into my shoes, I definitely would've been hiding something I never wanted anyone to find out."
"You have to get into the mind of the other person to know their next move..."
I watched Ranboo look into space as if he's figured out the secret to the universe.
"Oddly specific," I stated, "but sort of, yeah."
When Ranboo didn't reply, I broke the silence with a question.
"Does this mean we're brothers now?"
