Mono's pov
I could feel my heart rate pick up when the sounds of distress and anger coming from (y/n) bounced off the walls in the now empty and very quiet hallway. Even through the metal of the locker Six and I were trapped in, fear was easily heard in her muffled voice. Six and I shared a look of concern and assurance, and we both knew what our next move was.
The two of us used our combined strength to lift the locker up, enough for us to slide under and out from the temporary trap. The first thing we saw, was one of those stupid porcelain kids. It's back was facing towards us as it poked its head into the doorway for the next corridor. I instantly could feel the red hot anger swelling in my chest, my hands instinctively clenched hard into fists; nails digging into my palms leaving harsh marks in my skin.
Just behind the soulless creature, laid a sledge hammer. It practically called out to me as I felt my feet move forward and found myself creeping carefully over to the soon-to-be living doll destroying weapon. I gripped the handle of the hammer tightly to the point my knuckles were turning white. Carefully and quietly as I could, I dragged the hammer over to the porcelain doll kid. I gritted my teeth as I lifted the weapon up and swung it forward onto the doll's head, putting all my weight into the swing. With the loud sound of porcelain cracking, the head of the doll was shattered into small pieces.
A few pieces of the shards flew up and cut my hands and arms a little from the force of how hard I hit the doll with the hammer. I allowed the tight grip I had on the hammer relax as I felt the built up energy leave my body in a wave, leaving me feeling a bit breathless. A soft whistle rang from behind me. "Damn Mono, you really didn't hold back" Six commented from behind me, observing the scene in front of her. "Can you blame me?. These jerks took our friend away for who knows what twisted reason. I'm mad, so very mad" I grunted out, another wave of anger washes over me. This time, I didn't let it control me so I calmed back down quickly.
"Well... they took MY friend and YOUR lover away~ but yeah I can't blame you for being angry. I'm upset too" Six teased me lightly, my cheeks flushing with heat under my bag mask from Six calling (Y/n) my 'lover.' "But next time, I get to swing an object onto a doll's head. I gotta let out my anger too you know" Six adds on, cracking her knuckles menacingly. I subconsciously shivered from the death-like aura practically glowing off of Six. "Right. Let's get going then" I quickly say, bringing the girl from her murderous thoughts.
I peeked into the next area and saw a room with a bunch of tables and other junk stacked into a huge pile in the centre of the room. And across the room, near the doorway for us to continue on our rescue mission, sat another freak doll. Seeing it, I handed the hammer over to Six while saying "it's your time to shine my dear friend." The girl eagerly took the weapon and made her way over, me following in tow.
Though Six's foot stepped on a returning trap triggering raised wood board, which caused a heavily filled bucket to fall from somewhere on the ceiling and instantly crushed the dolls head before Six could do anything. A snort of amusement left my mouth as Six yelled out in frustration. "Oh come on!" She groaned lowly. "Don't worry, you can still smash in some doll heads the next time the opportunity arises. I won't take that away from you" I say with a unseeing grin.
"Yeah yeah" Six dismissively waves me off. Turning to the door that we now noticed was closed but had the top half of it broken. Luckily, a chair was placed ever so conveniently against the door so we could climb through the opening, and dropping down into the next corridor. This hall had an elevator that hopefully works which would take us to a different floor so we can continue our search. Though we quickly saw a freaking lock that we'll need a key for in order to even get on the elevator.
The two of us walked down the hall, and up ahead was a classroom that was clearly being used. The sound of chalk being scraped and dragged across a chalkboard eerily cut through the deafening silence. We crept closer to the doorway of the room, being careful not to get caught by whatever was in the room. Inside the room was filled with about 9 or so empty headed students, and across the room was a supply closet of sorts. Hopefully a key was somewhere in there, but we first had to get passed the demon children and the teacher we saw glimpses of just past the corner of a shelf Six and I hid behind.
I looked at Six and leaned in closer to carefully whisper to the girl. "I'm gonna head into the closet, I want you to wait by the elevator. If we both go in there, there's a better chance of us getting caught and I don't want another friend taken away from me" I whispered in a serious voice. And from the look on Six's face, she was hesitant on allowing me to go sneak through a classroom of monsters by myself. But eventually nodded and agreed to the plan before turning around and carefully creeped away and back towards the locked elevator.
I moved to face back towards the classroom, my heart steadily beating faster in my chest. I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves as I waited and listened for the sound of chalk squeaking on the board to continue. Once it did, I quietly and quickly as I could crawled forward until I was behind the first kid's chair and stopped there. And as soon as I stopped moving, the room went silent for a moment, followed by a few clicking heels and a page turning. If I wanted to make out of this alive, I'm going to have to take my time here.
Heels clicked and the chalk squeaking returned.
With sweat rolling down my face in fear, I crawled over to the next desk, stopping behind the chair and out of sight.
Chalk writing stopped, clicking of heels, page turn.
Damn, this felt like it could go on for hours. And I'm not sure how much longer of this I can take. At least I'm half way through the room, silver linings I guess.
Heels, and chalk again.
I moved on to the last desk, right across from the ajar door of the closet. Almost there, almost there. Calm down and don't get hasty or impatient because that would mean certain death. Damn, I can feel my heart beating through my chest. But the stress will all be worth it once (Y/n) is back and safe in my arms. I mean- when she's back and safe in Six and I's arms; our arms. Yeah.
Silence, Heels, page turn.
F— hurry up already, my heart feels like it's going to pop full on out of my chest. Who turns a page of a book this slow anyways?! A sloth?
Heels, and chalk again.
Finally! I managed to squeeze through the open door and safely arrived inside without getting noticed. That really did feel like hours, yeesh, I really hated that. "Now let's see... where would I be if I was a key" I murmured to myself as I looked around the small room. A turned over drawer that was taken out from the cabinet laid on the floor, and I had a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to need to use it as a hiding spot some time soon. A sense of dread filled me when I stared at the drawer a bit too long, so I quickly teared my gaze away from it. Something shiny caught my eye when I looked at this one, slinky unstable looking, bookshelf.
Looking up, I saw the very key I was looking for was just barely peaking over the edge of a shelf near the top. I just knew my body weight will affect the bookshelf that didn't look like it was the most steady and balanced. But I needed that key, so I was prepared to face the risks head on. I started climbing up the bookshelf, and about a little over half way up the furniture, I felt the shelf begin to tilt. And with an anxiety filled heart, I dropped down and moved out of the way of the now falling bookshelf so I would get crushed. A screech was heard from the classroom after the obnoxiously loud crashing of the bookshelf rang out.
I knew it was time to use that hiding spot so I immediately dashed over to the turned over drawer and crawled in, the darkness of the shadows hiding me well. The sound of mary-Jane shoes clicking against the wood floor echoed through the rooms, filling my heart with more fear. Then I heard an odd cracking sound, glancing upwards I saw the most disturbing thing I've seen yet. The teachers neck freaking stretched ridiculously long to help it look around the room. It? Her? It doesn't matter at this point, not for someone who's long since lost whatever humanity that was left in them.
The Teacher's neck eventually shrank back down when she was done observing the closet, a groan of irritation leaving the creature. Probably irritated that it's oh so important class was interrupted. But I saw a glimpse of that chalkboard, there was no words written on there. Just scribbles of lines and a doodle of the tower that was at the very centre of the pale city. The sound of the closet door being shut with a bit of force snapped me out from my thought. The vibrations of the door closing as hard as it was made a small vent in the corner open up and giving me access to the back of a counter in the classroom.
Which means that was my only exit of the supply closet. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as the adrenaline rushing through my veins died down a bit. But was still present knowing that I had to some how sneak back through that nightmare of a classroom. At least now the key was on the floor and reachable. I crawled out of the hiding spot and and picked up the key off the floor, stashing it away in my coat. Don't ask how that works when the key is pretty much larger than my coat.
After pocketing the key, I crawled into the closed cupboard/counter thing. I pushed open the cabinet door ever so slightly, just enough to get a look at where the teacher was in the room. Her back was towards me as she stared down the students with never blinking eyes. It was also more towards the back of the room so sneaking underneath the desks this time wasn't hard. It walked over to a different student's desk, back still towards me. So I moved to the go under the next desk.
The booming crack of a ruler on the surface of a desk echoed throughout the room, startling the shit out of me. And it apparently startled the porcelain dipshits as well as I saw the legs of one student tense up . And I don't blame them either for being tense, the bish is scary.
The every so present clicking of heels seem yo only give me more of a headache as the Teacher wander over to another desk, which unfortunately had to be the one I was underneath. Can this creature walk any slower?
The teacher moves again. Away from my current desk, to another one with her back towards me. I move to the next desk, just two more to go and then I'd be Scott free. From this situation anyway. More footsteps, and another crack of that ruler. Just enough time to get to the second last desk before the giraffe neck lady started walking again. She moved to a desk I was previously hiding under, facing away from me yet again. Another perfect time to crawl to the last and final desk.
I was now directly in line of the hall and I could see Six sitting by the elevator, staring over at the classroom and soon making eye contact with me. She gave me a reassuring and motivating thumbs up, and even the 'okay' sign to let me know it was safe to sneak into the hallway. And I wasted no time getting the frick out of there. I caught up to Six while wheezing for air after the adrenaline finally wore off for the time being. And once I caught my breath, I took out the key and pushed it into the key hole.
And once I turned it, the elevator doors opened and Six and I quickly got on. The doors closed shortly after we were both in and it automatically moved up. Which means it probably only has to go between two floors. Six and I took a short break after getting out of the elevator on the next floor, decided it was best to have at least a small rest before continuing on. It was quiet between us for a moment before Six broke the silence. "How are you doing after the classroom break in and break out?" She asked softly, eyes shining with worry.
"I think I'm okay now. But in the moment, my anxiety was through the roof. Felt like I was going to have a panic attack. And good thing i didn't because that probably would've gotten me caught" i reply, chest warm from the concern Six was showing. The girl was silent for a moment longer. "How about I take the lead on the next intense event? Just to give you a break from having to take charge from such a situation" she offered in a surprisingly gentle voice. I took in the offer and decided to agree to it. "Okay, sure. Thanks Six" I smile softly, even though she couldn't see it.
Deep down though, I knew I was going to want to take charge and lead the others to safety when it starts to get dangerous. I'd be damned if I was going to accidentally leave my friends to be closer to danger than they needed to be.
After we decided our break went on long enough, we stood up and made our way into the next room. What was in there was surprising. A student was sat near the back of the room, drawing on the floor with chalk with a thick rope tied around its waist and attached to a nail embedded in the floor. There were drawings and scribbles all over the chalkboard as well. A pointed hat rested on its head, a dunce hat to be specific. It appears to be some sort of punishment from misbehaving in that teacher's 'class'.
Right beside the doll laid another sledge hammer. "It'll probably attack us as soon as we get close so we got to be quick. Maybe one of us draws its attention while the other gets that hammer" I suggested to my friend. Six eagerly nodded in agreement. "I call getting the hammer" she immediately says, getting ready to dash to grab the weapon. I nod my head and moved to be the farthest from the weapon as I could to lure the student. "Hey! Stupid! Over here!" I called out, instantly getting the attention of the doll. It jolted up on its feet and quickly spun around to face me, and upon spotting me, it instantly ran forward.
When it got close enough, it tried to launch itself towards me, but the rope around its body tugged it back and making it fall on its back. Six took that time to sprint and slide over to the hammer, hands grasping the handle and having little issues with lifting it up. The doll's attention was still towards me as it once again tried to launch at me after it stood up. Only to be held back by the rope and fall to floor once again. It made a raspy wheezy sound as it moves to stand up, while it did, Six crept over with hammer in hand and was quick to swing and smash the dolls head into the ground.
The clay-like material shattering and flying across the floor. "Whew! Now that felt good" Six exclaimed, relief sounding in her voice. She dropped the hammer and moved to shake her hands free from the adrenaline coursing through her. "I hope I get to do that again because that was a rush" she grins at me. A soft laugh left me. "I feel you there, don't worry, we'll take turns smashing in those doll's head" i add on, which only further excites the girl. "Anyways, we shouldn't stay any longer and waste more time" Six mentions and then we were off once again.
We smashed through the broken but still intact door with the hammer to continue forward and climbed up a dresser of sorts into a vent. The sound of something being hit with a hard object echoed through the walls, making the both of us feel a pit in our stomachs. But we had to keep going, and thus we kept moving, making our way into a room with a tall ceiling. And our only way forward was up, and towards a vent that was closer up to the ceiling. We dropped down onto a shelf but our combined weight made vibrations shoot through the wood and make a glass vase fall off the shelf.
Dread filled Six and I's whole being as we heard the sound of glass shattering and a screech from a familiar sounding teacher. We both knew it would be bad if we got caught now so we ran to hide in a box that was surprisingly big enough to fit us both in. As soon as we were in the box, the sound of bones popping and something stretching filled the air and the teacher ugly face appeared above the shelf's to inspect where and how the vase could have fallen from. Upon seeing nothing, it slowly shrank its neck back down to normal, hissing lowly while it happened. The sound of something being hit soon returned and Six and I let out a breath of relief.
We silently motioned each other to be careful and we continued our way up the wall shelf's, hiding from the teacher when needed from accidentally making too much noise. We were in no time, finally in the vent we were heading for. And we took out time to relax our breathing and calm our fast beating hearts while we crawled through the vent, the metal under us groaning and bending slightly from our weight.
We soon made our way out of the vent and into a large library. After we jumped down on top of a bookcase, of course we heard the teacher come stomping in. I swear she's just there wherever we go and I don't like it. A sigh left my mouth as i knew this was going to take a while before we no longer have to deal with the teacher. All I want to do right now is save (Y/n) and get the bell out of here for good.
~Timeskip~
After sneaking through the library and finishing a chess themed puzzle and obtaining a key for a door with a padlock on it, Six and I found ourselves in a small hallway right before a cafeteria. I assume that much based on that trolley with little shelf's used to move plates of food around. The two of us moved the trolley against the wall to use it to climb up and through a small vent. On the other side was kitchen/cafeteria area like I thought, and Six and I were in the small kitchen area first, which made sense since there looked to be a walk in freezer of some sort behind us earlier.
We had to climb over a smaller shelf to walk further into the room and stopped when we saw a doll student on the floor messing with something in front of it. A ladle behind it, which would be the next best thing to use as a weapon to fight those gremlins. I grabbed the ladle and used it to break the doll's head, the sound alerting two other doll kids near by to our presence. The sound of muffled yelling from a bunch of other students in the distance prevented any other student from hearing us.
And some how, when attempting to smash the two kid's heads in with the ladle, I managed to pop their heads off instead, and the heads managed to stay intact. But that gave me an idea. "It'll be a death sentence going into a room absolutely filled with those demon kids, but with these heads, we could sneak past them all easily since we'd look like one of them" I tell Six. "Great idea. Oh, does that mean I get to catch a glimpse of your face?" The girl asked with a playful smile. "Pfft, that's not happening" i reply cheekily.
I grab one of the doll's head, quickly turning away from six, and took off my bag and pocketing it. A wave of cooler air hit my face briefly before I quickly covered my face again but with the porcelain head, my hands coming up to keep the head steady. Six followed my lead with the other head and we were walking into the chaotic cafeteria filled with the dolls. Our disguise worked beautifully as we were left alone while walking through the room, trying to ignore all the chaos around us. And once out of the cafeteria, you'd think it'd be safe to take off the heads.
But nope, there were even more students littering the next hall. Some were bullying each other, others keeping to themselves. One was hanging off the lights, and a few were actually playing nicely with each other. Some female appearing students were jumping rope while singing some strange song. Though no actual words were being said. We managed to squeeze into a smaller room with tall shelves covering the walls. Though the small entry way into the room was only just barely able to fit us, causing us to trip and having the head break against the floor.
I quickly covered my head with my paper bag as soon as my head was free from the doll head, fixing it on my head as I noticed we'll need something to throw at the button to open the door in front of us. "We should be able to find something higher up on the shelves" Six spoke up, and then we were climbing up the shelves as carefully as we could. The majority of jars on the shelves were empty so those couldn't be used but we soon found a jar that had something in it that should be good enough to use. Unfortunately that something was a brain floating in some sort of fluid. A brain of what? We didn't know and didn't want to know.
I grabbed the jar and tossed it off the shelf, watching it fall and break on the floor, freeing the brain in the process. There was a hook in front of us that looked like that it may be able to help us get down. I took the risk first and jumped for the hook, gripping the metal tightly. My weight was enough to lower me down to the very bottom of the first shelf we climbed on earlier. It was kind of like a zip line but only when straight down and in a safely manner. Once on the floor, Six followed me down and I took the fall by picking up the brain so she didn't have to. It felt cold and slimy in my hands, squishy like gelatine too with a bumpy texture due to all the ridges the brain had. Just touching it made be feel sick to my stomach, but i tried not to focus too much on it.
I quickly tossed the brain at the button and it was able to open the door for us, it bounced on the floor behind us as we made our way into the next room. Though immediately we heard the fricking teacher again, at this point, I'm just mad. And whatever she was doing, it sounded gross, like a wet gross. She eventually turned and walked into what may be another classroom. We walked out from underneath the table and walked towards the slightly open door. I did end up looking back to see what the teacher was doing a moment ago and all I saw was a jar stuffed full with frogs. Ew.
Moving along in the next classroom turned out to be a kind of science room which kind of explain the frogs, but why did they need to be squished into a jar? I don't even know why I'm questioning the things these monstrous creatures do. In order to get through the room and past the teacher, we had to climb up on the tables and hide behind the countless books and jars filled with various fluids and organs. There even was a foot in a jar, and who even knows why. Luckily for us, sneaking out the room through a small window went smoothly.
After making into the next room and up another bookcase into a vent, Six and I dropped down onto the floor in another long hallway. In front of us, another hammer and another unsuspecting student with its back towards us. This time, I grabbed the hammer before advancing towards the doll, only to step on a wood board causing a bucket to fall, crushing the doll's head first and headed towards me. I managed to jump out of the way but the sound of the bucket falling caused another doll near by to charge in our direction.
Luckily I was easily able to break its head with the hammer before it could do anything. With a huff, we continued our way down the halls. More dolls proceed to pop up out different places, but we promptly put a stop to them. In the short distance between the sounds of breaking porcelain, I heard a familiar voice yell out angrily, (Y/n). Her distressed voice only fuelled my body to move faster, desperate to save my friend.

Your pov
My head felt fuzzy as I slowly woke up from being knocked out, vision blurry when opening my eyes. My body felt constricted in something wrapped tightly around me as I felt the wood scrape against my skin from being dragged across the floor. My vision soon cleared up and I noticed I was tied up in rope, and I was being dragged by a couple of students towards a room that appeared to be a bathroom.
Weird breathy sounds left the two as if they were laughing that they caught and tied someone up, like they were proud of such an accomplishment. Sick fudgers. I squirmed and wiggled as an attempt to loosen the ropes and free myself, and I could feel it start to work. A couple of students that trailed after us quickly caught on to what I was trying to do and moved to re-tighten the restraints. A groan of discomfort left my mouth from how tight the ropes were digging into my ribs and stomach, making it a bit harder to breathe.
I growl lowly in irritation. "Hey! Hey! You empty headed fucks! Let me go you a-holes!" I chocked out, voice raspy from how dry my throat became. The dolls only ignored the sound of my voice and tugged me further into the bathroom. Another doll sat up on the edge of a stall, it's hands motion to the ones on the floor to toss up the end of the rope keeping me tied up. Once it received the rope, it proceeds to loop it around one of the wood beams on the ceiling before dropping back down to the floor. Their weight as it fell caused me to be lifted up into the air upside down, and the dolls only continued to lift me up higher until I was well above the broken sinks.
Their end of the rope was tied to a board that was nailed across a stall to keep me in place. I could already feel the blood start to rush to my head, making me dizzy. I wiggled and squirmed as I tried to weakly fight against the restraints, my body already getting too weak because there was no blood reaching my limbs, my strength faded fast as well as my energy. Tears filled my eyes as the fear sunk in, threatening to fall. My vision was already starting to fade again, body threatening to pass out, a weaken gasp for Six or Mono to come help leaving my lips.
Suddenly, the sound of something like glass breaking rang out from just outside the room. The noise caused me to look at the open door's direction on instinct, ears perked every so slightly, the best I could do to listen for any more movement. Then Mono came walking in, sledge hammer in hand, the metal dragging along the floor beside him with Six following behind. A soft gasp left my voice when seeing my friends were here, relief starting to flood my weakened body.
I couldn't tell how Mono was feeling upon seeing me dangling from the ceiling upside down, all tied up in ropes, but I did notice the way he seemed to tighten his grip around the hammer's handle. He then turned towards the two dolls that were finishing the last knot on their end of the rope and immediately rushed over to them. He wasted no time breaking in the doll's heads before breaking the board that had me in place. As soon as the board broke into splinters, I immediately felt myself fall, feeling that dropping feeling in my stomach.
Before I could hit the floor head first, Six was quick enough to move to catch me in her arms so I wouldn't suffer a concussion. A small 'oof' left the other girl's lips from my sudden weight as she gently lowered me to the floor before moving to take the ropes off me. The sound of Mono dropping the hammer to the floor came from behind us as he rushed over to help remove the last bits of rope around my body.
I stayed lying on the floor looking up at the ceiling as the room continued to spin, wanting to allow the blood to rush back around my body the way it was supposed to. "Are you alright?" Mono breathed out from beside me. It took a bit for his words to register in my brain but I nodded nonetheless. "Y-yeah, just dizzy and lightheaded from the blood that rushed to my head. Can we just take a break here before moving on?" I asked in a tired voice. "Sure, we could all use a break right now anyway" Six spoke up this time. I hum out a soft 'thank you for saving me' as I allowed my eyes to drift close. Perhaps a small nap will do me good.
