Prologue
Esveldza (es-vel-d-za) is a planet larger than Saturn but smaller than Jupiter, with three moons and two suns. It's the ninth plant in Zornada (zor-nar-da). The air is thinner than that of other planets, if an earthling were to step foot onto Esveldza without their polluted oxygen they would suffer a slow and painful death by suffocation lasting two weeks. Their body would turn purple, their eyes red and they would lose all their hair.
Esveldzans however, would find earth's air cloggy and disgusting, causing violent coughing fits until they adapt to the environment an hour or so later.
There are numerous species on Esveldza; such as the dwarves who live in the mountains short, bulky and hairy. Pixies who partake in deadly, sacrificial magic, mermaids that rule the seas and dragons that are second highest to gods, but it is the elves who will be the focus of this story. An average Esveldzan elf is around 8.3ft tall; the ears are pointed and magic flows through their veins. Hair colours range from browns to greens and reds and eye colours are the same in which they can be any colour. Hair and eye colour may change over time; considering Esveldzans live for hundreds of years it's not unusual to occur. Esveldzans can also influence how they look; they do have magic after all.
The planet is divided into lands, each holding an ability which characterises the land. Arveltri (ar-vel-tree)- Land of fire, Charvton (char-ve-ton)- land of ice, Irtlevra (urt-lev-ra)- Land of Water, Darjeva (daar-je-va)- Land of plant life, Eltiri (el-ti-ri)- Land of air and so on. Arveltri and Irtlevra's King and Queen have influence over the other lands but every land has their ruling King and Queen as well as other nobilities. Depending on what land you're born in, the gods and goddesses grant you with extra strength based on the land's power.
The Gods and Goddesses were the first Esveldzans. They each have their own personality and most Esveldzans will pick one God or Goddess who they will mainly worship, usually from their birth land.
Dragons too, are very highly respected. The dragon's name each have a meaning which connects to what their ability is. Offikrin (off-ee-kren)for example, 'The Name-bringer', a great 50 metre wise old dragon who grants certain Esveldzan's with a dragon name.
This story starts in Arveltri, land of fire. The cities are; Casca (cas-ca), Blisly (bliss-ly), Elindaw (elin-daaw), Rannen (ra-nen), Geigan (gee-gan), Forban (for-ban), Tivess (tie-vess) and Marasob (ma-ra-sob). In the city of Tivess, the rulers are King Gaven (gay-ven) and Queen Licibie (li-ci-bie) the Great. They constantly hold festivals, honouring everything they can think of in Esveldza. Most enjoy these festivals and love their compassionate King and Queen but others resent their "carelessness".
Marasob is ruled by King Frajher (fraj-er), who used to be close friends with the previous King. The previous King's son, Gaven was arrogant and naïve. Frajher had believed it would be him taking the King's place but the throne was handed to his son. Frajher was furious but kept his place as the King's loyal guard. Just as Frajher had began to accept the new king a careless move from Gaven caused Frajher to be tortured for ten years by a manic group from Dreadwill. Frajher turned to hate Gaven more and more, blaming his pain on the harm never meant to be put on him. When he escaped he acted normal until one day he couldn't stand the King's "weakness" and abandoned his post, taking over the city Marasob and becoming its ruler. His wife fled him after becoming pregnant, fearing his madness would harm their child.
King Gaven and Queen Licibie have three beautiful daughters; whom they and the kingdom love dearly. They have them be taught a wide range of skills, singing, dancing, war-fare, fighting, textiles, horse-riding, painting, practically every skill you can learn. By this, the princesses' act as role models for the people. Tivess can be seen as perfect in comparison to Marasob which is full of crime, injustice and torture by the cruel and mad king.
Children go to school where they learn the basis of their education before they then join small groups where they're taught by a Master their profession. They finish in early adulthood where they can pursue their profession or go into advanced study.
We begin in the story in Forban, but there is much that happened before. Forban has a grudge against Geigan and rage war on each other every few decades. The grudge goes back to two very influencial Esveldzans named Grage (grey-j) and Felisha (fell-ish-a), they were in love until Grage became obsessed with wanting to kill a great dragon. Felisha was against dragon slaying like many Esveldzans and fought with him. He dropped the obsession but after that their fights continued. They broke up and instead of bringing the two cities together, Felisha and Grage tore them a part.
