After the gang led me to Sora's house, Kairi slammed the door and locked it with a loud click. Then she turned to me with a large grin on her face that shot terror through my veins. But then her grin slowly morphed into a genuine smile and she started talking.
"I'm not too sure if you remember what this island is called."
I shook my head yes; I didn't remember but if I had to guess I'd assume it would be called the Bahamas or something beachy.
"Well it's called Destiny Island and it holds so many memories…" She continued with a long and reeling explanation about Destiny Island, its history, and what it has to offer then sent me on my way to a place called ‘Twilight Town’ all by myself because APPARENTLY I can learn about Destiny Island a lot more if I go out all by myself and possibly get attacked by strangers.
So now here I am in Twilight Town, a town with large, tall buildings and long threatening back alleys. But amidst all the buildings, there was one that stood taller than the rest. It was a beautiful clock tower with intricate designs etched into it. Bells hung off the sides, gently swinging back and forth, tinkling in the breeze.
But then, as I was reminiscing about what happened yesterday and gazing in awe at all of the buildings, a sly and mysterious looking creature suddenly appeared from seemingly nowhere. I watched in awe as the creature rushed towards me and realized it was one of the dark creatures that escaped from the book, back when I was in my room. To my surprise, my keyblades appeared in my hands; they had been summoned without me even thinking about them. I yelped and nearly managed to drop them while trying to wave them around, in order to try and figure out how to use them. Unfortunately, nothing happened and the shadowy creature kept advancing closer and closer to me, cornering me against a wall.
"I got this!" I hear someone yell from behind me. I spun around and muttered, 'What the…' I looked at the person before me and they swung their keyblade out, effortlessly taking out the small creature. Its dark form melted and disappeared into the blades of the grass, not even leaving behind a single hint of residue signifying its presence.
"Are you alright?" I look up to see someone who looks identical to…
"Sora??" He clearly looks upset about how I called him that. Looking closer however, there were a few differences between the strange man and Sora. For one, the strange man’s hair was blonde unlike Sora’s and his face structure was also slightly different. In my mind, I called him the blonde version of Sora.
"I'm not Sora at all, you know this Y/n..." the blonde version of Sora said.
"Again, why does everyone claim to know me!?" I accidentally say in a loud, exasperated voice. He looks at me with an amused look on his face.
“Because we DO know you Y/n.”
“No you don’t.”
“Yes we do,”
“Well if you guys did know me, then how come I don’t remember you?” I huffed.
“Well,” Sora’s clone but not really paused for a moment. “I guess you must’ve lost your memory,”
“But how?”
“I-I don’t know,” he paused again. “Well since you don’t remember me, my name’s Roxas.” He smiled at me shyly.
“Mmm, okay then Roxas. I think I’ll be going now, I don’t want to run into any more weird shadow creatures.”
“Oh you mean the Heartless? Yeah they can be pretty annoying sometimes.”
I nodded, inwardly adding the words ‘spooky’ and ‘disturbing’ to his description.
Then, Roxas mumbled something and I looked at him.
“Repeat that again for me.”
“Would you…” he hesitated a bit and looked back at me shyly. “Would you like an escort..?”
My smile quickly morphed into a bright grin.
“Of course! I don’t think I’d be able to kill those creatures myself anyways.” I said, laughing a little.
We started to walk together, with Roxas slightly ahead of me.
"So what exactly is Twilight Town?" I asked curiously.
“Well, it’s my hometown! It sells the best ice cream in the entire world.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“You’re exaggerating aren’t you?”
“Nope! I can take you there if you want,” he nodded towards one of the buildings.
I grinned.
“Lead the way.”
