Narrator: Alright. So, we're gonna be continuing to learn more about countries.
Human: Is it about their culture?
Narrator: Nope.
Human: Their history?
Narrator: Not yet but soon.
Human: Their cuisine?
Narrator: Maybe later.
Common Raccoon: Just tell us already nanoda!
Narrator: Alright alright. It's........
Narrator: Their national anthem!
Human: Damn. That was gonna be my next guess.
Narrator: Sure buddy. Sure.
Kaban: National..... what?
Narrator: National anthem, fellow human.
Ezo Red Fox: What's an 'anthem'?
Narrator: A national anthem is a patriotic musical composition symbolizing and evoking eulogies of the history and traditions of a country or a nation.
Human: In a nutshell, it's a song about the history of a country. It represents the country itself and the people sing them in honor of their country.
Japanese Crested Ibis' eyes widen.
Japanese Crested Ibis: Humans can sing too?
Human: Of course.
Royal Penguin: That's very interesting. I didn't know humans can sing.
Gentoo Penguin: Now I'm excited to hear it!
Narrator: Say no more. First, we'll start off with a famous one. One from Russia. Specifically the USSR/Soviet Union.
Lion: USSR? Soviet Union?
Human: That's what Russia was called during World War 2. It had something to do with Lenin taking over and turning the whole country communist.
Suri Alpaca: Lenin?
Margay: Communist?
Jaguar: There's so many confusing things.
Narrator: All will be explained as we go on. For now, we focus on the national anthem of the USSR. Here it is:
The Friends intensely listen to the national anthem while Human is humming along to the lyrics and instrumental. Japanese Crested Ibis was shocked and dumbfounded at hearing the humans singing, wishing she could be just like them.
After the anthem ends.....
Narrator: Well, what do you guys think?
Serval: It was amazing! Are humans really good at singing?
Narrator: With some practice, yes.
Japanese Crested Ibis: I wish to learn how I can sing like them. Human, can you teach me how?
Human: Ummmm..... I don't know how I can teach you.
Kaban: But Toki, you already sound amazing.
Japanese Crested Ibis: Yes but after hearing the humans sing that song, I want to improve so I can be as good as them.
Human: No need to push yourself so much, Toki. Everyone already loves your singing so there's no reason to try to improve just so you can match a human's vocals.
Japanese Crested Ibis: I guess you're right. I guess it inspired me to practice harder, that's all.
Human: Well, you're perfect just the way you are.
Japanese Crested Ibis: *blushes* Thanks.....
Narrator: If you guys are done, I'm gonna continue now.
Human: Sure.
...
...
Narrator: Alright. Now let's listen to the national anthem of France. Here it is:
Narrator: Well?
Moose: Not bad. I like this one too.
Emperor Penguin: Humans really are excellent singers.
Southern Rockhopper Penguin: Jealous?
Emperor Penguin: What? No!
Gentoo Penguin: I bet they don't faint when they sing.
Emperor Penguin: Stop teasing me please :(
Eurasian Eagle Owl: I must clarify something.
Narrator: Yes?
Eurasian Eagle Owl: Do humans make the music as well?
Narrator: Of course! We're responsible for making the music for our national anthem as well as the lyrics.
Sand Cat: That's incredible.
Black-tailed Prairie Dog: Humans are really talented!
American Beaver: Agreed. They're good at a lot of things!
Human had a small grin on his face as well as Narrator even though you can't see it.
Narrator: Now, Japan, a country that is also located somewhere in Asia.. Japan also had their own song for their march. Here's their current anthem:
Otter: It's quite calming.
Panther Chameleon: I agree. But what about the one with the march?
Narrator: Right. Here it is:
Human: Just to let you guys know, Japan was pretty infamous during the second world war. I'm not gonna go into detail but just know that they were a different country back then compared to now.
Tsuchinoko: I don't think I wanna know what they did.
Human: Trust me. It's better that you don't.
Narrator: Anyways, next up is Italy, another country in Europe. Here it is:
Northern White-Faced Owl: I like this one as well.
Eurasian Eagle Owl: Me too, Professor.
Japanese Crested Ibis: I keep getting impressed at how good these humans sing these anthems.
Kaban: You're right, Toki. If only I can sing.
Serval: What are you talking about, Kaban? You're good at singing!
Kaban: *nervous laughter* Thanks but I don't think it's that good.
Narrator: Alright. One more anthem and it'll be from Australia. Here it is:
Hippo: Another good one.
Fennec Fox: I would sing that too if I know how to sing.
...
...
...
Narrator: Alright. Which one do you guys like?
Kaban: I like Russia's.
Serval: Me too but I also like Italy's.
Hippo: For me, it's between Australia and Japan.
Jaguar: Otter and I like France's. There's something about the voices and music that we like very much.
American Beaver: I might go for Italy's too.
Black-tailed Prairie Dog: Really? For me, it's USSR or Russia.
Sand Cat: I can't choose. They're all good.
Tsuchinoko: I guess Japan's.
Human: Is it because it sounds calm and you can sleep to it?
Tsuchinoko: N-no! O-of course not!
Human: Suuuuure.
Tsuchinoko: *angry snek noises*
Lion: Well, my group prefer Japan's march. It feels powerful.
Moose: I agree, my rival! This song will be perfect as both our teams charge at each other head on!
Human: More fitting for a show of intimidation but I guess that could work.
Northern White-Faced Owl: My assistant and I choose all of them.
Eurasian Eagle Owl: Correct. They are all very good to listen to.
Royal Penguin: Well, we like all of them.
Gentoo Penguin: So much that we want to try to sing them too!
Emperor Penguin: But it will be difficult because we can't understand the lyrics.
Southern Rockhopper Penguin: That's ok! We'll just mimic the humans' vocals! We'll get the hang of it!
Humboldt Penguin: Wait, what were we talking about again?
The other penguins: Bruh. Really, Hululu?
Campo Flicker: I'm surprised that no one picked Australia's.
Reticulated Giraffe: I know, right? But I prefer Japan's because it sounds calm and soothing.
Gray Wolf: Well, I like Japan's march. It's the kind where you know you're in danger when you hear it.
Serval: You like it because you can get some good reactions for your manga, am I right?
Gray Wolf: Bingo.
Silver Fox: Well, I don't know what to choose so I guess I'll go with Russia's. What about you, Ezo?
Ezo Red Fox: Maybe...... Italy's.
Common Raccoon: Arai-san chooses all of them nanoda!
Fennec Fox: I'm with Arai-san. I can't choose either.
Narrator: What about you, Human?
Human: Me? Can I choose ones that weren't shown?
Narrator: No. It would be unfair for everyone else.
Human: Then I guess Japan's imperial march and France's for the memes.
Narrator: Understandable.
Serval: What's a 'meme'?
Narrator: You're too uncultured to understand.
Serval: What?
Narrator: Anyways, with the anthems out of the way, time for the next one. And as always, it's a surprise.
Human: It's gonna be one of my guesses from earlier, isn't it?
Narrator: Sorry! No spoilers!
Human: Bruh.
To be continued....
Narrator: Hello, it's me, the Narrator. For those that are reading this, first off, you're a chad. And second, try to guess which one is next based on the guesses at the start of the chapter but I think it's obvious. Have a nice day and goodbye!
