Chapter One - A Major League Hunk

Monday, May 30, 1988
Alice Johnson lives in a regular sized two story family friendly house in Springwood, Ohio. A thin, beautiful, and very shy redheaded seventeen year old girl who attends Springwood High alongside her older brother, Rick. Also an avid daydreamer, Alice has been spending most of this school year fantasizing about the football hunk that also attends her school. His name is Daniel "Dan" Jordan, and Alice has the world's hugest crush on him. Her three best friends Kristen, Debbie, and Sheila have all told Alice to step outside of her comfort zone and, "Tap that!" Debbie would say. All Alice's friends acted a lot like her whenever Dan Jordan was in the same room as any of them. They just stared lustfully with their mouths wide open and the drool falling from the corners of their lips. Alice found it pretty great that her brother Rick was good friends with Dan.
Rick on the other hand is dating Alice's best friend, Kristen Parker. Kristen is also somewhat of a shy teenage girl with big blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She always wore long skirts and sweaters and white stockings to school. Some of the Springwood High girls picked at Kristen and teased her for her funny clothing, but she never minded it. Kristen was one to push through the drama and then find a place that was somewhat private on the school grounds and light up a cigarette. Rick had always nudged Kristen not to smoke, but she says she can't help it. It's been a terrible habit for her ever since she was committed to the Psychiatric Ward called Westin Hills located on Elm Street just one year ago. Apparently Kristen had been suffering from night terrors that got out of hand, she had slept walked to the bathroom and slit her wrists in her sleep. Thankfully her mother got her to a hospital in time, but decided it was best for Kristen to heal her brain. So she threw her in an insane asylum. Once Kristen had returned to school, people had given her all of the That's her! looks. But Alice, her brother Rick, Sheila, Debbie, Kincaid, and Joey were all still there for her. The only group of people that never looked at Kristen Parker any differently. They resumed their friendship and relationship with Kristen even after she got out of the looney bin. Alice always said it was nothing for her to be so ashamed of, nobody is perfect and everyone can break if pushed far enough. Rick reassured Kristen as her boyfriend that her mental breakdown was just her way of trying to deal with her controlling mother. But at the end of the day, everyone could tell Kristen was simply happy to still have such loyal friends.
Sheila on the other hand is a tech nerd! She's super smart and handy with all sorts of technological devices. She made a special device for Debbie that would make any insect flea instantly from her vicinity. Debbie hates bugs and insects of any kind! It's her all time fear! Just last week, Sheila and Rick had watched Debbie squash a Beatle that was on one of her potato wedges to a flat pulp. "Hey, super girl! He's dead okay, give a bug a break" Rick said as he patted Deb on the back to relax her. Alice had finished gathering her things from Kristen's car and joined in with Rick, Sheila, Kristen, and Debbie in the parking lot of Springwood High.
Debbie was a tough girl! She was always working out and lifting weights and wearing all those spiked bracelets and chokers. She had brown eyes and big puffy curly long hair that went just below her shoulders. As Debbie shuddered after squashing the beatle that invaded her bag of potato wedges, the gang hears the roar of a pickup truck engine. Alice began to form a smile as she watched the large bright red pickup speed into a parking space. Debbie grins and keeps her eyes on the truck as well as the handsome stud who stepped out of it, "Mmm, there's Dan Jordan! Mmm-Mmm! We are talking one major league hunk!" She said.
At this moment, Alice took Debbie's words and used them in a daydream she instantly thrust herself into. As Dan Jordan began slowly approaching Alice with a straight face, she grinned and caressed the side of his face with the palm of her hand. Staring deep into his eyes, Alice smiles warmly and tunes her voice to a seducing tone, "You know, you are one major league hunk" she says. Dan chuckles and briefly looks at the ground before reconnecting his eyes with Alice's, "Thanks, Alice!" he says flattered. Now Rick was waving his hand in front of Alice's eyes, snapping her out of her daydream, "Earth to Alice! Earth to Alice!" he says again and again. Finally pulling herself back to reality, Alice looks over at her brother and then back over at Dan Jordan, who was still on the other side of the parking lot giving high fives to his football jocks. Rick, clearly able to read Alice's face, chuckles and wraps his arm around her, "Well look he's a friend of mine - I'll introduce you!" He says cheerfully. However, the thought of Rick introducing Alice to a hot stud like Dan didn't sit well with Kristen, "Rick!" she gasps. Rick instantly jerks his head to Kristen and wraps his arm around her instead, "I'm just kidding...but I would introduce her". As the chit chat ended and the bell to the school rang, Alice continued to eyeball Dan from across the lot as the sun made his wavy light brown hair glow with beauty. Alice wanted to make it a mission to make contact with Dan before school let's out in a few days.
