Back at stars hollow the twins were finally back at home. Rory awake early as usual and Rachel awake but only because of her stupid sisters alarm clock, Since they shared a room together which looked like a public library with how many books were in it.
The twins arose out of their room joining sookie and Lorelai in the kitchen.
"Good morning."
Rory said with a chirpy attitude. Whilst Rachel slumped down onto a chair, groaning, matching her mothers energy.
"Morning, you guys want some pancakes?"
Sookie offered as she ruffled up Rachel's hair.
"No, thank you though, I've gotta get going."
Rory replied.
"Where?"
Lorelai asked confused on where she would need to be so early in the morning.
"The college fair is today."
"So you're going to get yet another Harvard brochure?"
"I just want to see if they've changed the pictures, Bye!"
Rory shouted as she left through the front door leaving, Lorelai, Sookie and Rachel in the kitchen.
"Too early, Want bed, Tired."
Rachel mumbled as she was nearly falling asleep on the kitchen table surrounded by Sookie's Dooses grocery bags.
"See thats how one is supposed to be so early in the morning."
"Mother like daughter."
Sookie said chuckling at the two who looked beyond exhausted.
"I have to go work at Luke's, I'm already late."
"Im sure Luke would let you off this one time."
"No, it's fine, I'll just find an ice cold lake to jump into on the way to wake me up."
"Okay, well make sure you don't get frostbite dont wanna loose any toes before your party."
"Ill try, bye Sookie, bye mom."
•——————————•
The bell rang as Rachel entered Luke's which seemed to be somewhat empty.
"Hey Luke, sorry I'm late."
Rachel swung round to the back of the counter apologising to Luke.
"It's fine, not many people here anyway, How was your party?"
"Awful, Imagine 80 condescending rich people judging your every move and then add some disgusting slimey food."
"Sounds like you had a great time."
"I don't appreciate your sarcasm Lucas."
"Sorry."
Luke went over to serve an old couple that had come in, as Rachel leant against the counter and began to draw in a notebook of hers.
A couple minutes later, Dion entered with a spring in her step.
"Heyy Gilmore!"
"Hey Prescott, What's got you all excited?"
Rachel shut her notebook giving Dion her full attention.
"A guy asked me out."
"A guy from stars hollow high asked you out?"
"Yep!"
"Oh I'm sorry."
"Rachel, seriously! He's really cute, You remember Dylan right?"
"Do I remember Dylan?.. Of course not, Sorry."
"Oh my god, He sat next to us in French, Brown hair, Always says "Dude"
"Oh my god, Dylan the dude?"
"Yes! We're going to the movies this week."
At this point Taylor had entered the Diner and sat down a seat away from Dion trying to get Rachel's attention to be served by subtly coughing or putting his hand up.
"I can't believe it, Do you think your kids first words will be dude?"
"Ahem! Rachel, I dont wanna interrupt your girls very important conversation but I'm very hungry here."
Taylor finally spoke up, very irritated at this point.
"Okay then don't. So this week huh?"
"Luke!"
Taylor shouted to get Luke which forced Rachel to actually serve Taylor.
"Fine Taylor, what do you want?"
"Finally. Why can't you be more like your sister? A bacon and egg cheese sandwich young lady."
"Okay old man. coming up."
Rachel loved to tease Taylor even since she was a toddler she would stick her tongue out at him and yank his coat and then hide. She mostly learnt it from Luke, But neither Luke or Lorelai told her to stop since they both found it extremely amusing.
After serving Taylor, Rachel went back to talking to her friend.
"How was your party? You said you would fill me in on the details when I see you."
"Crazy honestly, Rory shouted at our grandmother infront of everybody, sadly I wasn't there to witness it though.
"Oh. My. God. Im so sad I missed that. How come you missed it?"
"Um...Well, You know Tristan."
"Yes, I know Tristan, not personally."
"We may have kissed."
"YOU MAY HAVE KISSED?"
"Twice."
"TWICE?!
"Shh! I don't need the whole town knowing."
Rachel said trying to be discreet about her gossip.
"I can't believe it. You finally have a boyfriend. I thought you was never gonna get over Alex."
"Okay hang on. He's not my boyfriend we just kissed and let's not talk about Alex."
"Right sorry, But oh my god, Have you told anyone?"
Dion replies giddily, failing at her attempt to somewhat whisper.
"No, And I beg of you don't tell anybody. I dont need people knowing my buisness. When I was with Alex, everybody was in our buisness and we were 13. A whole town sticking their noses into a 13 year olds relationship it was hell, I dont want a repeat of it."
"I thought we wasn't talking about Alex."
The two got cut off as Luke came behind the counter silencing them. The two stared at Luke unable to continue their discreet conversation.
"What?"
"Nothing."
They said in unison.
"You two are weird."
Luke walks into the kitchen feeling weirded out by the two teens.
"Is he coming to your party tonight?"
"No, I didn't invite him."
"You- oh my god you have no game you're like Luke. Gonna be alone and a hermit working here your whole life."
" Shut up."
Rachel shoved her friends arm at her remark.
"I gotta go help my mum with her bake sale for school, I'll see you at your party."
"Bye."
•———————————•
The Stars Hollow Party was way better to the Gilmore's liking, Fun music blaring, everybody they loved and cared about was there. The vibes were nice colourful and lit up, Way better than the one the day before.
Rachel was sat on the sofa as Rory was sat on the foot stool opening presents from their friends.
"This one's for Rory, Open it, open it."
Lorelai pointed over to a leopard print covered box, As Rory excitedly unwrapped her present she unveiled an IBook Laptop that she had been asking for, for ages.
"Do you like it?"
Rory showed her gratitude by pouncing on her mother, wrapping her in a hug.
"I love it. Its perfect!"
"Its blue and it has a handle."
"It's way too expensive!"
"I know that's what I told the guy at the store. Rachel this one's for you!"
Lorelai handed the older twin a smaller box also covered in leopard print wrapping paper. The teen instantly starts unwrapping it and her face lighting up as she sees a Polaroid camera she had been wanting forever.
"Oh my god! Thank you!"
She copies her sister as she hugs her mother showing her gratitude for her awesome gift.
"You've been talking about it forever so here it is."
"Okay! On three cause I'm gonna drop it!"
Sookie rushes in with the twins joint birthday cake, which had a drawn photo of the twins as kids drawn in fondant on the top which the twins thought was really cute.
"One two.."
"Happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to you,
happy birthday dear Rachel and Rory,
Happy birthday to you."
Everybody sang in unison whilst miss patty went over the top with it as expected.
Each twin took a row of candles and blew them all out whilst making seperate wishes as everybody clapped.
"Alright everybody, I need your attention! Attention please! This is a very serious moment, Two priests a rabbi and a duck-"
Everybody cuts Lorelai off by laughing at her ridiculous joke.
"Alright I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I would like to propose a toast to the two things in my life that is always good, that's always sweet, and without whom, I would have no reason to get up in the morning, my pals, Rachel and Rory, Cheers."
Everybody awed at Lorelai's sweet speech to the girls and toasted to the twins.
"And in honour of these very special girls, I now invite you all to help me eat their faces."
Sookie comes over and hands Rachel and Rory knives to do the first cuts of their cake.
"And you two may have the first cut."
"There's something very strange about slicing into mine and my sisters face."
Rachel said whilst taking the first slice as she's one and a half minute older.
"Jeez, who the hells ringing the bell, it's a party get your ass in here!"
Lorelai shouted at the sound of a doorbell ringing, Everything went silent when she realised who it was, Her parents had actually come due to Rory's invite.
"Or asses, I guess."
"Grandma grandpa! I cant believe you're here!"
Rory got up and rushed over to them hugging them.
"Hey grandma, hey grandpa, no tie?"
Rachel came over to welcome them aswell.
"I thought I'd mix it up a little."
Richard chuckled at Rachel's comment.
"Grandma look."
Rory said as she lifted her wrist showing Grandma that she was wearing her gift from her. Rachel had also received some brackets aswell so she joined her sister by throwing her wrist up.
"They look lovely."
Emily compliments them as she seemed to ease up a little.
"I want you to meet everyone, everyone these are our grandparents."
Rachel introduces everybody to their grandparents as they had never been to the house or even stars hollow before so this was completely new territory for them.
"Hi, hi!"
Everybody waved back at them.
"Lorelai..."
"Emily, dad"
Lorelai came over to say hi, You could cut the tension with a knife, At this point patty had also come over to introduce herself.
"I'm Patricia Lacosta, We just love your daughter and granddaughters."
"Thank you."
"My god you're a tall specimen of a man, Must be all that good air in Hartford, Haha.."
Rachel couldn't contain her laughter as miss patty flirted with her grandfather.
"Mom, dad, can i get you a drink?"
"Stoli on the rocks with a twist."
"Right."
Lorelai went to fetch her mother a drink from the kitchen leaving the twins and their grandparents in the living room.
•————————•
Everybody had dispersed through out the house. Rachel had gone to talk to Dion in her bedroom.
"I cant believe your grandparents are here! I didn't expect them to look like that."
"Me neither, And what did you expect them to look like?"
"I don't know, the way your mother describes them I thought they were gonna be wearing a witch hat and devil horns. i'm just surprised they are here i cant believe that miss patty already tried to hit on your grandfather right infront of your grandmother, that was hilarious."
"Oh my god It was so funny I couldn't contain my laughter, my grandmother looked like she was gonna curse miss patty. Im gonna go out there and make sure world war three's not started."
"Ill join you."
•—————————•
Rachel had found her grandfather alone outside so she decided to bring him a newspaper out incase he was bored.
"Grandpa, I brought you something to read. It's not the Wall Street journal but there's a quiz in there that determines whether you're a summer or a fall."
"Well I appreciate this thank you, Lovely party by the way."
"Thank you, I quite like it myself."
"I saw you and Mr. Dugray was talking after the party now I don't like to pry but you seem to be getting along quite nicely."
"Grandpa! We're just friends, You haven't told grandma about this, have you?"
"No, no, I'm not one to gossip. But you two would fit nicely together, I must say."
"Alright grandpa, Im gonna head inside you go ahead and find out which season you are."
Richard chuckles as the teen squirms away from this somewhat invasive conversation.
•—————————•
A group of guests sat round in a circle in the living room sharing embarrassing childhood stories of the twins.
"Oh morey, you remember the time the girls decided that our old tree stump was a fairy ring? How old were they then sugar?"
"I think they was about 10."
Lorelai told Babbette.
"All I know is it matched the description."
Rory defended her childhood actions.
"Oh god they were cute, They used to sit out there with a Nutella sandwich just waiting for the fairies to get hungry."
"Hey, I really wanted to meet tinkerbell, alright."
Rachel confessed.
"Okay new story."
Rory said trying to avoid this embarrassing story.
"Im still crushed beyond belief that they quit their ballet lessons."
Miss patty brought up yet another embarrassing story.
"Oh not me, with Mrs perfect work ethic would prance around this room 24 hours a day with Rachel."
"And I still stunk."
"I can vouch for that."
Rachel said agreeing with her sister.
"That's not true! Dont you listen to her you had a true gift."
Miss patty defended Rory's ballet skills.
"Rachel was pretty good it just wasn't my thing, I only started cause Rachel did."
"Oh yes, a modern Anna Pavola."
Miss patty said agreeing with Rachel's skill for the arts.
"Thank you, thank you."
Rachel said earning a chuckle from everyone. Nobody had noticed except for Lorelai that Emily had went up the stairs mid conversation.
•——————————•
It was time for Emily and Richard to leave so Rachel went out to say goodbye.
"Rachel, We're going to get going now."
"Thank you guys for coming."
"Ah, lovely party."
Richard said putting the newspaper down joining the conversation.
" I enjoyed the reading material immensely."
"So, what's the verdict?"
"I... am an autumn."
"Interesting. I was a summer and Rory was also an autumn."
"Isn't it."
Rory and Lorelai had joined them outside to say their goodbyes as well.
"Hey, You guys leaving? The mud wrestling starts in ten minutes."
"Goodnight Lorelai, we had a lovely time."
"And with a straight face you said that."
"And this is for you two, Rory this is for fez and Rachel this is for... whatever you'd like."
Richard said handing the girls yet another card filled with cash.
"Thank you grandpa."
The girls said in unison.
The three stood there and watched their grandparents drive off.
"So... food fight?"
Rachel said.
"Absolutely."
Lorelai and Rory agreed as they all headed back inside to join the party.
