As Zhang Hao's in class, he looks at Hanbin, who's sitting all the way in the front of the classroom. How is he supposed to get close to him when they sit so far apart in every class they have together?
Hanbin did say he liked being alone and didn't want to be Zhang Hao's friend, but Zhang Hao has a mission to complete and he will not give up this easily.
Zhang Hao raises his hand, trying to get the teachers attention.
"Yes, Zhang Hao?" The teacher asks him.
"Could I please sit in the front? I forgot my contacts today and I can't see the board." He lies.
The teacher looks at the front seats and sees there's an empty spot next to Hanbin. "Yeah, sure. Just sit next to Hanbin."
"Perfect." Zhang Hao whispers. That's exactly what he wanted. "Thank you, sir." He picks up his things and makes his way to sit next to Hanbin. "Hey." He says to him. "I guess we're desk mates now."
"Yeah..." Hanbin just nods and keeps looking down at his book. This really is harder than Zhang Hao thought. They'll never be friends if Hanbin keeps answering like this.
"How was your first day of school yesterday?"
"Good." He says and Zhang Hao gives up for the day.
Usually, it wasn't so hard for Zhang Hao to make friends... or so he thinks. He doubts he ever had such a hard time making friends when he was fully alive.
But he understands why Hanbin is so closed off to making new friends. It's understandable, considering everything he's been through.
Zhang Hao doesn't want to pressure him into becoming friends with him, so he'll give some time. There's no rush.
He glances at Hanbin and sees him looking straight ahead at the board. He has no expression on his face, and yet, he seems sad.
At least it doesn't look like anyone's bothering him anymore, so that's good.
"Class, you're dismissed. Don't forget your homework tomorrow." The teacher says and everyone rushes out of the classroom.
As Zhang Hao's walking towards the school exit, he ends up bumping into someone. "Matthew?" He asks and mentally facepalms himself.
"Do I know you? How do you know my name?" Matthew asks, confused.
"Oh... you're in my math class." Zhang Hao lies. He'll make sure to ask Jiwoong to change his class later.
"Really? Are you sure?" Matthew takes a step closer to him, making Zhang Hao's eyes widen. "I think I would've remembered a cutie like you."
