You were feeling kinda nervous right now. Why?
You were about to introduce yourself to the volleyball team of your school, because you decided to be the manager. You really hoped you would get along with them, and that your autism won't get too much in the way of socializing with them.
As you stepped in the gym you found the Nohebi team all lined up in front of their coach and another girl, their heads all turned to you.
You smiled and bowed down at them, still really anxious.
The coach spoke up for you "Guys, this will be your new manager, (Y/F/N), she has autism, but treat her well okay?"
"Why does he have to specify that? Oh well, it's fine I guess" you thought to yourself.
As soon as the coach said that though you could see the team members and the other manager hiding their giggles, but you just shrugged it off thinking nothing of it.
Practice was going fine, you were doing your job perfectly, and as you were handing the guys their water bottles along with (H/N), Daishou walked up to you, followed by two players.
"Yo Y/N, do the teachers give you higher grades out of pity?"
You tilted your head confused at the sudden question. "Huh? Higher grades? What do you mean? I study the same things as you guys".
"Oh really? And if I ask you to do 7x8 you'd be able to?"
"It's 56 obviously? Guys I'm not less smarter than you, do you think that autism works like that?"
"Doesn't it?" Adds the other manager.
"No? I personally just need a few minutes to get some jokes sometimes, and it can be a bit hard for me to socialize with others, but I'm perfectly normal, just like all of you" you smiled at them, hoping that now you cleared things.
They just rolled their eyes at you chuckling, and then walked away.
That's pretty much how the following weeks were like, they'd always pick on you, asking you obvious cultural questions, or making inside jokes that only them could understand.
You'd always reply at their questions, or kindly ask to someone if you didn't understand the joke, but their answers were always filled with sarcasm.
You often didn't know if you should take them seriously or not.
And when you weren't at the gym that other manager would pick on you in class.
You just couldn't have a moment for yourself anymore, and so you just decided to transfer into another school.
This is how you ended up into Aoba Johsai High School.
And again you decided to sign yourself for the volleyball's team manager position, and this time there wasn't anyone else besides you.
You stepped in noticing all eyes on you instantly.
You bowed down at them and at the coach as well. "Hello, nice to meet you guys. My name is (Y/F/N). I transferred here from Nohebi High School for..well uhm some problems. I have autism, but I really hope we can get along."
To your surprise they all flashed their smiles at you and excitedly introduced themselves.
During practice you didn't have any problem with the guys, they all spoke to you with kindness and respect about random stuff, not even questioning your autism.
After it was over Iwaizumi and Oikawa walked up to you. The captain asked you "Hey Y/N, can we walk you home? We can chat for a bit in the meantime, where do you live?"
As you answered his question you saw their eyes lit up.
"We're basically all neighbours!" Said Oikawa.
And so that night you went home with them.
On your way home Iwaizumi started a conversation.
"Hey, tell me..why did you transfer in this school? You didn't like Nohebi?"
"Well..I was the manager of the volleyball team in that school as well and let's just say I had..uhm some problems with the players and the other manager.."
"Wait..can you tell me the name of that other manager?" Asked Iwaizumi hesitantly.
"It's (H/N)"
The guys both looked at each other annoyed.
"That's my dumb ex-girlfriend. I'm sorry if she treated you badly, that was the main reason I broke up with her. I couldn't stand her attitude anymore'' explained the spiker.
"It's okay, it's not your fault. It's just that people sometimes think that autism is some kind of desease that makes me dumb or something" you said rolling your eyes a bit.
"But I'm happy I found you guys! You're so kind to me!" You added as they both smiled at you.
The next day you went to the gym after the lessons, as you entered everybody happily greeted you.
Since coach didn't arrive yet, the team was just talking and joking around.
As you walked up to them Iwaizumi moved to stand besides you, without saying a word.
Kindaichi was telling them a joke, as they all laughed you stood there for a few seconds to think about it.
Iwaizumi saw your confused expression, so he whispered into your ear what the joke meant.
As you laughed he smiled at your happy expression.
This kinda became your thing, Iwaizumi always stood by your side, ready to explain things to you when you were confused or defend you if someone ever said something mean.
This was the main reason why the guys started shipping you two, but you just laughed it off thinking they were saying it as a joke.
But deep down you really liked Hajime, he was always so kind to you, and pretty attractive too.
As time passed your friendship with the team grew stronger. But your bond with Oikawa and Iwaizumi was on another level.
You would often have sleepovers together since you three lived so close.
One day you were at your place with the two of them, just hanging out.
You just finished eating your dinner and now you were sitting on the floor of the living room playing truth or dare (it was obviously Oikawa's idea, and you two couldn't say no to him).
"Oikawa, truth or dare?" Asked Iwaizumi.
"Dare, duh" replied the setter.
Iwaizumi smirked
"I dare you to act like a slave for me for the whole day, tomorrow."
You bursted out laughing, already imagining what kind of things Oikawa will have to do.
The setter complained but then he just agreed, a dare is a dare.
Tooru then looked at you.
"Y/N, truth or dare?"
"Mhh..I don't trust you, so truth!"
"Do you like Iwa? Like, romantically?"
You thought for a few seconds, debating if you should just tell the truth or not.
"Yeah, I like Haji"
As Oikawa smirked proudly, Iwaizumi widened his eyes, he was speechless.
He thought it was impossible that you'd say that seriously, and during this game too.
"I-I think we did enough for today" Iwaizumi got up and rushed to your door, going back to his house.
You looked at Tooru confused. "Is he mad? Maybe I shouldn't have said that.."
Oikawa's gaze softened "You didn't say anything wrong Y/N, it's just that Iwa has some problems facing his feelings sometimes.."
"Then what should I do now?" You asked the setter, looking already upset.
"Go to his house and talk to him about your feelings, just say the truth and everything will be fine, trust me. I know Hajime by now."
And so you thanked Oikawa and ran to Iwaizumi's house.
In two minutes you were already knocking on the door anxiously.
Hajime finally showed up, as soon as he saw you he blushed, panicking a bit.
"Can I come in? I just want to talk to you about this.."
He nodded and guided you towards the couch.
"I'm..I'm sorry for running away like that, it's just a bit overhelming for me but..were you serious about your answer? You weren't just joking around right..?"
"I was 100% serious Iwaizumi, I-I do like you, a lot. I love how you always stood by my side for me, but also treated me with so much respect."
The spiker didn't say anything, instead he hugged you tightly, inhaling your scent.
Without looking at you in the eyes he said those words..
"I really like you too Y/N.."
When you tried to break the hug he just held you there tightly, he didn't want you to see how red his face was.
"H-haji I can't b-breath-"
"Oh I'm sorry!" Iwaizumi immediately let go.
You chuckled at how clumsy he was being, but you found it cute.
You were basically his weak spot.
Iwaizumi then spoke up again.
"I-Is it a bad moment to give you a kiss..?"
"No, not at all.."
He leaned forward, placing his lips on yours in the most gentle way.
Iwaizumi placed his right hand on your cheek, deepening the kiss, while his other hand was on your waist, keeping you close.
It was like he was afraid you'd disappear.
As you broke the kiss for air Hajime smiled at you widely.
"You have no idea how much I've waited for this."
Thanks to Oikawa's question, you two were now a couple.
Iwaizumi was the sweetest boyfriend you could ask for.
He was a really mature person, always taking in consideration your feelings.
He wouldn't force you to do anything you didn't want to do.
He would always make sure you were feeling comfortable wherever you went.
BONUS
Oikawa was currently walking around with his, your and Iwa's bags.
Due to the dare, Iwaizumi was making Oikawa work like a butler.
"I even helped you, you're so evil Iwa-chan.."
