Meanwhile, the ride home was treated as if they were a couple of kids who had shoplifted in the streets.
To which, Chip and Dale were scolded deeply for their actions.
But honestly, Steckler couldn't stay too mad at them for long.
She's just simply tired of having to excuse and cover up for what they have done over similar things like breaking and entering during many of the cases that they all shared together since the beginning of Monetary's disappearance with the bootleg industry.
"Jeez. What a mess. Now I have to report this to the commissioner about some of the trouble going on. And with the 'pony' people for crying out loud. Sigh. You're lucky they didn't press any charges or we'd be talking some serious problems here. I suggest you both just stay away from this case for now on until the whole thing is over." Steckler suggested
"But Ellie...." Dale tried to say before he was cut off, abruptly.
"It's Captain to you. And as an officer of the law, I'm only warning you that if you are to ever step foot on those premises again, you will both be going to jail for trespassing. I know you guys have helped out wonderfully in the past, but these matters are becoming more political now and if we don't figure out something soon, the feds could get involved. And I just don't want anyone else bothered with their time, filling out extra required paperwork along the way. So please, let the cops do their jobs." Steckler informed them sternly but at the same time felt bad that she had to be a little strict with them.
Seeing how these two guys happens to be her heroes, growing up.
But knowing how the system works as a cop, was somehow making it more difficult for her to be flexible with them without facing grim consequences.
"....You're right. We're sorry for causing you much trouble. It won't happen again." Dale agreed, nodding his head, realizing that she was just trying to do her job.
"What?!" Chip yelled out in high alert from the fact that Dale was taking the law's side.
"Chip. Drop it. We'll talk about it later." Dale warned him, hoping to not cause anymore
nuisance for Steckler.

Once they reached to Chip's house, Steckler then pulled over to the side of the driveway
"Alright boys. You're home. Or at least Chip's place until he can recover more easily with that amnesia." Steckler told Dale as Chip immediately jumped out of the car
"Bye Chip. Have a good night." Steckler said, politely.
"Yeah. You too, lady." Chip spoke rudely before storming on over towards the front door of the house.
"Oh boy. I'm sorry you had to hear that Ellie. Once he remembers everything. I'm sure he'll forget all about his attitude." Dale apologized.
"Don't worry about it. He's been through enough for me to even be bothered by it. But anyways, listen. I'm sorry for coming too strong onto you, earlier. I know you wouldn't do anything that could've jeopardize your careers but please just promise me that you'll both be more careful next time. I trust that you will make the right decision." Steckler advised him calmly.
"I promise. For now, we'll simply keep a low profile and wait for his memories to get better." Dale insisted.
"That's good. Then, I guess I'll be seeing you guys later. Call me if you ever need anything." Steckler said.
"Will do. Thanks for the ride home." Dale thanked.
"Anytime. Be safe." Steckler said while they both waved goodbye before Dale walks on over to the front door and unlocks the door for Chip, whose temper blew a fuse once he had entered inside the house.
"Argh! This is a load of cow turd!" Chip yelled out angrily.
"You mean bull..." Dale was going to say before getting interrupted.
"Yes! You know what I mean! And I don't care what that woman or even the royal highness herself says! Twilight Sparkle is our kidnapper!" Chip yelled out.
"Chip, I think you're overthinking this a little...." Dale attempted to say to try to calm him down, but Chip refuses to believe that he is overreacting about the whole thing.
"No. I am not! You may not see the evil in that pony, but I do." Chip protested.
"Sigh. This is serious Chip. It's not just about the case anymore. It's about upholding the law and...." Dale tried to explain before getting cut off again.
"That's not the point! Ugh. Never mind. You wouldn't understand what it's like to be humiliated by the one criminal, who can't even be caught by the law, you sought to put away." Chip said, sadly.
"Actually, I do. But it's not like I can't relate to how you're feeling or anything. I'm just doing this to keep you from getting any more trouble than we're already are." Dale advised him.
"I don't need your protection, I can take care of myself. Sigh. I'll be in my room, if you need me." Chip said before walking over to his room slowly in deep despair.
Leaving Dale alone, who then slumped over on the couch in a heave.
That was rough.
But somebody needed to tell him.
And while I don't want him to get hurt again....
I also didn't want him to feel stupid either for thinking that this 'twilight' girl may or may not be our culprit.
He deserves to know why he had lost his memories.
Just like those families out there needed to know what happened to their loved ones.
If only there was a way to see...
Dale thought until something had popped up in his mind.
"Wait a minute....." Dale mumbled out until he decided to retrace his memories and notices something odd that he didn't see before.
In one of the bookshelves of the house, lies a hidden retractable book that could easily be pulled by a magical elements using basic telekinesis.
Revealing a possible safe room filled with....the very victims of the case!
"They....were in that house this entire time? She just used a block bookshelf as a way to....Oh man. Now, I'm going crazy. But what if it's not just a theory. What if..... I can go back and see to for myself that any of them are actually there. But that would only mean.....I'd have to do this on my own." Dale noted to himself before looking over at the hallway where Chip's room was at and sighed.
It's too risky for us to go there the same way than we did before.
Who knows what she'd be capable of.
I can't lose you again.
I'll have to do this on my own this time.
And see if I can find a way to guide those people out of there when I get the chance.
Dale wondered while he sought an out a plan in mind to undo the mess that he had just now uncovered.
For the victims's sakes....
For Chip's.....
"I'm sorry Chip. I believe you now. I'll be back with all of the victims safely in their homes. And I'll even let the whole state of New York know that you were their hero. After all, you were my hero first and.... I'm very lucky to have you as my best friend. And someone who I....." Dale spoke out in a mumble before hints of blush bloom across his cheeks.
Has he always felt that way about him?
Or was it on the day when he had almost lost him during Chip's memory loss at the back of that alleyway.
Where he had stood there by his side for many hours at that hospital.
Just waiting for him to wake up so that he could take him home.
Either ways, it was something he had wanted to talk about for a long, long time.
As Dale slowly gets up from the couch and writes out a note and places it on a magnet to hang it onto the fridge for Chip so that he wouldn't worry about him too much before getting in his car and drives to the Equestria portal.
Where he will do right for Chip, who was someone that he had deeply cared about enough for him to admit that he had been in love with him all this time.
