The 1st story I posted on Wattpad. This is a boy x boy story. Please enjoy and do comment. :D
SCENE I
“All classes have started. Students, please return to your respective rooms,” the voice from the speakers announced out loud.
The students, as expected, snagged seats next to their friends. I just sat wherever I felt like it, somewhere not too close to the teacher. They made me feel anxious all the time.
I’m Michael Summers, a junior high school student. I’m famous for my good looks, tall height, perfect posture and captivating smile. I always keep my black hair slicked back to look clean for the girls. What most don’t know is how my previous classmates turned me into a pervert. My previous school was something you would not want to enroll into. I originally lived here but we had to move to that troublesome place filled with thugs because of my dad’s work. I studied there before I moved to this academy. In order to survive, you needed skill and wit. I hated how they would tease the girls I liked. I hate how they abused even the inferior living things that could make the animal welfare rage with anger. How I liked to move away from those stupid, insolent, girl-deprived suckers! Then, a beacon of light came to me. “We’re moving”. Those enlightening words came from my mom. I thought that she actually saw the real face of the place. So, we came back here and I started living a normal life once again.
In the classroom, I caught sight of a person I didn’t want to see on the first day of class. It was Matt Clyde, my old friend. We were really close before I moved out. When I came back, my attitude and behavior changed. I wasn’t even able to talk to girls properly. Because of my changed behavior, he told me that I didn’t seem like a friend to him anymore. I disliked him for his ability to make girls get close to him, unlike me. Our relationship drifted apart and that caused me to chagrin about the past.
Next to him was Nicolle Parker, a sexy tomboyish girl with pink hot lips that sparkled like the sun’s rays touching the sea. Her hazel eyes radiated with glory just like a goddess. She had an Asian look but I didn’t know if she really was. She looked like a boy because of her short black hair. I wondered why she chose that length. She’d look prettier with longer hair, though.
Moments later, the teacher arrived. He was different from the other normal teachers. He didn’t look cranky or enthusiastic. He was alarming with that kind of smile painted across his face but I could sense that he cared for his students a lot. “Children, my name is Nathan Crest.” He half smirked while writing his name on the blackboard. It was messy but readable. The teacher was about in his early twenties, slick, thin and tall as most of the students in his class. He wore glasses and would make any girl who has a glasses fetish fall for him. His voice was deep, a tempting sensation for women. He didn't actually quite fit the “terror teacher” bill like the others. He actually looked pretty cute. I noticed lots of girls blushing and ogling at him. I wished I was in his shoes.
All of a sudden, he literally quickly turned his face to us which surprised some of us a bit and he said, “I will be this class’s homeroom teacher. But, I can also be a friend, a foe or a second parent.” And he ended his sentence with a tilt of his head and a smile. “By the way, I love cats,” he happily declared. All the other girls shrieked and giggled silently. The guys just stared at him indifferently. This guy had such a quirky character yet he managed to get the attention of the female students. Anyway, I didn't know if I can be his friend or whatever, he’s just too different for me.
I told him out loud, “Sorry, Mr. Crest. I don’t think I can be your friend. You’re a weird teacher, you know that?” It’d be expected that he’d retaliate or kick me out of the room but he only made a simple reply, “Of course I’m weird just like everyone else. If we weren’t, nobody would be unique at all. Don’t take this the wrong way but I personally think that being normal is boring. Everybody is weird, everyone is special and so are you. All of humanity is.”
I didn’t expect that he’d say something like that so I said nothing more. I was embarrassed and pissed. That wasn’t the reaction I wanted from him. Nobody else spoke another word until Nicolle roared, “You’re so cool!” Her smile engulfed the whole room and most of the class agreed yet it didn’t have any effect on me. I was too embarrassed to have said that statement in front of Mr. Crest.
“Okay, that’s enough! Today, we’re going to do something cliché!”. Mr. Crest smirked leaving us dumbfounded. Then that Matt asked while he stood up from his seat, “Nathan Crest, I mean Mr. Crest, what do you mean?”
Mr. Crest then stopped smiling and said, “I’m going to arrange your seating plan.” Some cheered, some sighed and sulked but I didn’t care as long as I didn’t end up being next to Matt.
“Mister, I heard that bad word! What’s your name?!” Mr. Crest made a sudden outburst at Matt. Matt probably said something that was inappropriate for a student.
“M-Matt Clyde,” Matt stuttered looking shocked.
“Leave your seat and transfer here next to the other potty mouth.” Mr. Crest pointed to the seat next to me. Darn it.
The girl who was previously at my left switched seats with Matt. There was a deafening silence between us.
“Very good.” Mr. Crest looked like he was toying with us. “Um … hey,” Matt greeted me but I only turned away.
Mr. Crest then said something strange again, “Children, if you have any requests of whom you want to sit beside, tell me now or else I will pair you up with the most ‘suitable’ person for you.” Nicolle stood up and talked to Mr. Crest. She got her bag from her seat then switched places with the guy to Matt’s left side. I’d rather sit next to the beautiful Nicolle than sit next to Matt. How could this day get any worse?
Mr. Crest continued asking the other students where they would want to sit. Unfortunately, only a few got lucky sitting next to their preferred classmates. He couldn’t obey them all, he must have had his reasons.
He was a very strange man. He stood out among the rest of the faculty members. But, I’d rather prefer a normal teacher than this one. I might have a hard time dealing with this kind of guy. Then, he left saying that he’ll be the new math teacher. Math plus Matt plus Mr. Crest equals Worst Day of my High School Life. Not to mention, they start with the same letter. I thought of hating the letter ‘M’ from now on. Ah. My name starts with M, too.
There was still time before the next subject started. Maybe now’s a chance to get it on with Nicolle. Matt and Nicolle were talking to each other and so I interrupted them both, “Are you two a gay couple? How cute. I wonder how many of you dwindle around here in the goody-goody school of misfits." Then I set my sights on Nicolle. "Hun. If you want to be a girl again, go out with me and let’s have some fun at some place private.”
Nicolle suddenly got mad and glared at me. “It’s obvious that I’m a girl! My hair is like this because of guys like you!”
“Guys like me? What am I, then?”
“You are the same as those scumbags who take advantage of girls! You are one of those jerks who suck in treating a lady! You’re a vile monster, Michael Summers! I don’t know about your past with Matt but I can tell that you’re not friends with him anymore! Aren’t I right?!”
So, Matt told Nicolle about our past. I guess I won’t run away from it anytime soon.
Nicolle was still vexed so I stopped. “Fine, then. I’m sorry for saying those things.”
“Tch. I know your style. You will never lay your filthy hands on me.” The annoyed girl glared.
“If you insist that you know and hate me, I will only stop if you tell me what your type of guy is,” I replied. “Only if you promise to shut the hell up,” she commanded.
“Yes, of course … I just find it really attractive when a guy can act mature. I’m tired of perverted idiots who don’t know how to treat or talk to a girl correctly; calling them hot or sexy and using inappropriate language towards them. I like someone who sees beyond a girl’s appearance and more into her heart. Someone like Matt.” Oh, I will never be somebody like that. Matt stuttered and Nicole smiled while blushing meekly. “Somebody like you. Not necessarily you, Matt,” she said. Maybe both of them actually like each other but neither one of them was aware of that. They looked good together. If only I could take Matt’s place and be him for one day just to get close to Nicolle …
The school bell rang and the next subject started. The students went back to their respective seats then the chemistry teacher came into class. I had to spend the whole morning with Matt next to me. The atmosphere had a tint of tension in it. Lunch break came and I felt relieved. “I know that you’ll be able to relax without me around,” Matt spoke. I made no reply and I ignored him as I headed for the cafeteria. The cafeteria was jam-packed with students but I was able to buy my lunch. I saw Mr. Crest buying lunch as well. Even the cafeteria ladies’ hearts were captured by this pretty man.
“Can I sit here?” I heard a familiar deep voice talking to me. The man then sat in front of me and started eating his lunch. “You can sit anywhere you like. You’re close to the students, anyway,” I muttered.
“Do you still think I’m weird? Don’t you think I’m only eccentric? That word sounds better than calling me weird.”
“Then, I’ll call you crazy.” I laughed.
We continued eating our lunch after that conversation. I gazed at Mr. Crest’s face and noticed his long eyelashes and the elegant way his mouth moves while eating the burger. His jade eyes were as admiring as Nicolle’s eyes though Nicolle’s eyes are black. His hair looked nice to touch. I bet that if I touched them, they would feel like silk. I stretched out my hands while aiming to caress Mr. Crest’s hair. Mr. Crest looked at me questionably. “Is there something on my hair?"
“Y-yes. Let me remove it.”
I touched his hair and pretended as if I was removing something. His hair was soft and warm to the touch … Wait!! What was I doing?! Why was I even thinking about the way he looks or acts?! I only loved girls, not guys. Not Mr. Crest. I only loved Nicolle! Maybe this Mr. Crest guy has some sort of trick up his sleeve, like he was controlling my actions or something. This felt disturbing.
After eating lunch, I stood up from my seat without even saying anything to Mr. Crest. He stared at me firmly. “Aren’t you going to say something to your teacher?”
“There’s nothing I should say to you, is there?”
“You certainly have a rude attitude. I wonder how your parents brought you up.”
“It’s not their fault that I’m like this. It’s… something else. I better go now.”
“Wait!” Mr. Crest stopped me. “What is it?” I asked.
“Help me buy a book later. Then, maybe I can help you sort out that attitude of yours. I know that something is troubling you. What do you say?”
I hesitated at first but since I wanted to fix my problem, I thought that maybe I’ll have a chance to make Nicolle notice me. I’ll be able to make her my girlfriend!
“Fine by me. Where do you want to meet up?”
“Wait for me by the faculty room at dismissal.”
I guessed he really knew how to care for his students despite his odd character.
…
Afternoon classes… a time where boring lectures and sleepy students were rampant. “Um," Matt spoke. “What?” I asked.
“Do you have free time after classes?”
“What is this? Are you asking for a date?” I smirked.
“…It’s something else. I want to talk about something.”
“Unfortunately, Mr. Crest wants to talk about something with me too after classes. So, I can’t go with you.”
After I said that, silence befell on the two of us.
“Well,” Matt added. “I wanted to talk about what happened after you moved back here. But, since you have other plans, maybe next time?”
I didn’t say another word and resumed listening to the teacher.
I went by the faculty room when it was time to leave the school. Mr. Crest got out of the room and told me to follow him to his car. His car was a sleek, silver Porsche GT1. It made me wonder why a mere teacher like him had a luxurious car like this. “I know what you’re thinking. Why does a teacher like me have this kind of car? Isn’t that what’s on your mind?” Mr. Crest opened the door for me like a gentleman being polite to a lady. He also got in the car and started its engine. We drove to the commercial district and stopped in front of a bookstore.
We went inside the store and Mr. Crest handed me a piece of paper with a title and a name written on it. “I’m looking for this book. Please help me locate it.”
“This is a fiction book… At first, I thought that you were going to look for something related to your profession.”
“It was one of the best-sellers last year and someone recommended it to me.”
Both of us headed towards the fiction books’ section and looked for it. Mr. Crest was searching for it at the other shelf in the same section. I scanned the spine of the books until I saw the book we were looking for. On its cover was a cute drawing of a cat ... I was curious as to what the story was like. Next to it was a small quote book about love stuff. I wasn’t interested in it but I was curious so I picked it up and skimmed it. It contained cliché lines you would normally see in a quote book but some were remarkable. One grabbed my attention. “The heart has arguments with which the logic of the mind is not acquainted.”
“What was that?” Mr. Crest noticed me muttering about something. I put back the smaller book on the shelf and showed to Mr. Crest the fiction book.
“No. It was nothing. Ah – I found the best-seller book from last year. Here.” I gave it to Mr. Crest and his eyes were filled with joy as he touched it. His smile was endearing as he was filled with excitement. It was the first time I’ve seen that reaction of his. If I was the book, I would be very pleased. ……………. I suddenly began to think about the quote I’ve read. I was getting crazier ever since I was with this man.
He paid for the book and we got out of the store and back into the car. “Thanks for helping me out. Now then, I want to talk to you about yourself.” Mr. Crest had a serious expression on his face and I had no choice but to tell him my real story. “We’ll stop by the park," he said.
It was already sunset when we got to the park. There, we sat by the benches. “Don’t be afraid. Tell me everything. You want to change, don’t you?” Mr. Crest worriedly asked. I replied, “Yes. Then, I shall start.”
