Even though they got split apart, Elijah, Mindy, and Ethan was five minutes behind from the others. But Mindy got stabbed on the subway and Ethan...he's probably headed his way to the theater just like Elijah was right now.
He entered the theater, not knowing what to expect when it was all about to come down.
There was a text he just sent to Sam and Kirby that he was close to the theater. Kirby texted him back that she would still have the door open for him to get in.
When he texted her that he finally arrived, she let him into the theater.
"Hey, Eli," Kirby greeted. "Where's Ethan and Mindy? I thought they were with you."
"We got caught up," Elijah answered. "The killer followed us to the subway and stabbed Mindy."
"What? Are you serious?" She was shocked.
"Yeah," He sighed, nodding his head. "I thought Ethan would be here by now. I don't know where he is."
"Well, I can't have this door open forever for him. I have to lock it," Kirby said, doing just that. "I'm going to be on the look out. Be on alert for the killer, Eli. You two stay safe." Then she walked away.
Elijah didn't know she meant by the two of them staying safe. He didn't know the other person she referred to. Until he turned around and saw Sam in the shrine with him.
"Oh, hey, Sam." He spotted her.
"So, the killer just happened to stab Mindy, but not you?" She asked suspiciously, narrowing her eyes down at him.
"He tried to, but I fought him off," Then he realized why the eldest Carpenter sister was so critical of him. "I am not the killer, Sam. I have no reason to be one. You know me."
"You're right, I'm sorry," Sam apologized. "It's just hard to trust anyone right now, you know?"
"Yeah, I do," He agreed. "I wish I could've done something to help Mindy to avoid getting stabbed. It was too late when I found out what happened to her."
"Well, you got rid of the killer for now." Sam pointed out.
"And he might be here as we speak." He sighed, shaking his head. It was a stupid idea to have the killer trapped in the theater.
Suddenly, Elijah's cellphone started to ring. He had an annoyed feeling that it was the killer. Ghostface. But he was using Dewey's number to call Elijah. He never deleted Dewey from his contact because the pain of losing him was still fresh.
Elijah reluctantly answered the phone.
"Alright, let's get this talk over with." He said in a bored tone. Already done with the killer's shit. It was only a matter of time when he was going to have a call of his own.
"Impatient, are we?" The modulated voice chuckled.
"More like fed up with your bullshit!" Elijah spat.
He was walking to the cases, hoping to find a weapon. Despite what Kirby said about being the only one legal to carry a gun, he didn't care and knew he needed to have something to defend himself. His eyes spotted his uncle's case with the knife still inside. There wasn't any way he would take his psychotic and fame whore cousin's knife. Not that his uncle was any better, but at least Elijah had a weapon on him now. He had a tight grip on the handle.
"You should've been like a good little boy, Eli, and stayed on the subway. So my knife can carve your skin into pieces!" The voice threatened.
"Well, you tried to do that, but I fought you off. That was the most pathetic thing I've seen that you guys did." Elijah taunted.
"Watch your mouth before I cut your tongue off, Kincaid!" He angrily exclaimed. "Or I'll kill your slut right in front of you!"
Elijah knew the killer meant Quinn. That one ticked him off and got on his nerves, but he knew better than to make a strong reaction. He tried to think logically because that was how the killer wanted him to react. Get mad and pissed off. Elijah didn't want to cave in that easily.
"Are scary promises all you have?" He got very annoyed and irritated with this caller.
"No, Eli, there's so much more to the third act. Just wait and see. You're not safe here, you're trapped. None of you are going to make it out alive. I'll make sure that your mother won't either."
Then Ghostface hung up on him, leaving Elijah filled with fear and anger.
"Who was that?" Sam asked curiously.
"The killer." He spat, putting his phone back inside his jeans pocket.
"What did he want?" She scowled.
"You know, the usual. Threatening to kill me and my loved ones," Elijah casually answered as if he went through the same thing many times. "He's here in the theater with us by the way."
"Figures." She muttered then her own phone rang, making them jump. A lot of mixed emotions was on her face and her eyes widened in fear. Then she had hung up on the person.
"What's wrong?" Elijah asked with worry and concern.
"That was Bailey," Sam answered in slight panic. "He said Kirby had been fired two months ago because she was mentally unstable from last year's murders."
"What?! Are you serious?!" Elijah nearly yelled from shock. He really didn't want to believe that was true about Kirby. But it's been a long time since he had seen her. They had to be cautious about who to trust.
Without thinking, Elijah and Sam ran to open the door for an escape, but it was locked much to their vexation. Kirby locked it earlier when she got impatient that Ethan wouldn't show up.
The electricity had turned off all of a sudden.
The sound of the projection screen was coming to life and was playing a bad and terribly cheesy homemade Stab movie.
"What the fuck...?" Elijah breathed, being very disturbed as watched what was on the screen. Sam turned around as well to watch.
There was a girl who looked almost similar to Casey Becker who got murdered twenty seven years ago by the infamous serial killer, Billy Loomis. Elijah's mother's ex-boyfriend who tried to kill her twenty seven years ago. Ghostface was stabbing the Casey look alike and her horribly acted screams echoed in the shrine.
"Oh, shit..." Sam muttered under her breath, having her knife out as well as Elijah.
Both of them were on guard to kill any Ghostface who might pop out.
"Who in their right mind would make this crap?" Elijah asked. He looked away from it, having enough. He thought about his mother's horrifying past and what she went through. He didn't know how she could have survived all of that. His mother was the strongest woman he knows.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle was with Chad and Tara, hanging out by the concession stand. Tara was about to reach for an old box of candy until her fingers brushed against Chad's and they chuckled.
"Oh, sorry, you can have them." Chad apologized.
"No, you can," Tara insisted. "I think you touched them first anyway."
"But I felt your fingers touched mine first." He playfully argued.
"Then I do have quicker reflexes than you." Tara giggled, making him smile.
Gabrielle noticed the flirtatious interaction and she felt her jealousy boiling.
"You guys do know they're probably, like, a hundred years old or something?" She asked, causing their heads to turn to her, as if remembering she was in the same room with them.
"You're right," Chad agreed, and walked over to his girlfriend. "Maybe I'm just hungry."
"Not surprised," Gabrielle rolled her eyes, knowing her boyfriend's appetite. "You can eat anything."
"Well, just not old candy," He smirked. His eyes trailed down to her mouth. "But I would like a taste of those lips."
"Who's? Mine or Tara's?" She hissed with a tight lipped smile, catching Chad off guard. Tara heard her name and turned around to look at her.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" Chad asked, being very confused.
"Oh, don't play dumb, Chad!" Gabrielle exclaimed angrily. "I know you and Tara have a thing for each other! I realized that when you took her out of the apartment while Ghostface attacked us and you didn't bother to get me! I guess I don't really blame you for not wanting to be with a psycho killer's sister."
"Gabrielle, it's not like that!" Chad argued.
"You two were basically flirting right in front of me!"
"I really didn't mean to come across like that. I'm sorry-" Tara tried to apologize, but Gabrielle cut her off.
"Yeah, right!" She snapped. Hurt was written across her face as anger clouds her eyes when they look at her so-called boyfriend. "Maybe I was just fooling myself that you actually liked me. Amber was right that I shouldn't be with you." She remembered when her sister was alive, that Amber never really liked the idea of Gabrielle and Chad being together. Amber thought that the jock wasn't good enough for her sister. Turns out she was actually right.
"Gabrielle..." Chad frowned, hoping that they wouldn't break up. He really didn't mean to give wrong signals to Gabrielle or to lead Tara on.
As soon as Gabrielle was about to open her mouth for a response, Tara painfully screamed when Ghostface stabbed her in the back.
What immediately got Elijah and Sam's attention was screaming from the lobby. Ghostface must be attacking them. The screams sounded familiar to Elijah and Sam. They both knew who the voices belong to.
"Chad and Gabrielle." Elijah recognized.
"Tara." Sam dreaded and they ran to the door. Almost nearly running into them.
Chad, Gabrielle, and Tara hurriedly followed after them to escape from Ghostface and closed the door.
"It's Kirby! She's the killer." Sam said.
"No shit!" Chad exclaimed and ran to the entrance door to open it.
"That's locked." Elijah informed him.
"We're trapped?!" Chad freaked out.
"She made this theater a kill box," Sam explained. "For us."
"Hey, what about that?!" Tara pointed up at the balcony where there was a door. "There's an exit door. Maybe it leads to the roof or something?"
"There's only one way to find out," Chad replied, and urgently encouraged them to move forward. "Come on, let's go, let's go."
Then Sam said. "Bailey's on the way, but-"
They abruptly halted in their tracks when two Ghostfaces jumped off the stage and one of them roughly pushed Tara and the second had also pushed Gabrielle aside in the same forceful manner. That same Ghostface was swinging its knife toward Elijah in an attempt to stab him, but he was using his uncle's knife to fight back. He managed to cut through the killer's black sleeve and heard a painful grunt from him. Hopefully, Elijah's knife cut some of his skin. Chad had tackled the other Ghostface and hit him in the face with a camera.
Sam quickly grabbed her little sister and they ran while Gabrielle, Elijah, and Chad ran behind them to go past the curtain of the projection screen. The two Ghostfaces were on their tail as they chased the five of them down the narrow hallway. Chad threw the camera he had at the killer and then the popcorn machine when they made a loop around back to the concession stand.
Ghostface was swinging their knife wildly at Chad until Elijah grabbed him by the cloak to slam him against the wall and punch his face. He got shoved by the killer and his back hit the counter. Chad gave him another punch that knocked him down to the floor. Tara gave him a kick to the face for good measure.
Chad was ready to throw an object to the fallen Ghostface until the other had surprised all of them when they stabbed Mindy's twin. Two Ghostfaces were holding Chad as they repeatedly stabbed him, blood was spewing out of his mouth.
"No! Chad!" Tara and Gabrielle cried out in horror for him as tears stream down their faces. Sam was holding her sister back and Elijah was doing the same to Gabrielle.
"R-r-run!" Chad tried to warn as he coughed up more blood. "Go!" He nodded his head at them and slumped to the floor.
The two killers turned around and swiped their blades clean in sync. Chills ran throughout Elijah's spine when he saw that.
They ran back to the shrine area and were about to go on the stage when another Ghostface appeared to block their path. The four of them turned around to see the two that had killed Chad. One was shaking their head and waving their knife at them.
Sam grabbed the bricks on the floor for herself, Tara, and Gabrielle. Elijah tightened his grip on the handle of his uncle's knife as the Ghostface standing across from him was ready to attack. He glared at Ghostface wanting to kill more than anything.
"Sam!" Tara cried as they were surrounded by the three Ghostfaces.
"Ready? I need you to be ready. Ready?" Sam asked them. She heard Tara crying and not responding, so her head turned around to her. "Look at me."
"I'm ready." Tara said, controlling herself more now.
"Me too." Gabrielle had her eyes locked on a Ghostface.
"Same." Elijah replied coldly.
"Come on, motherfucker!" Tara yelled.
Suddenly, gunshots got fired, making Elijah, Sam, Tara, and Gabrielle quickly duck.
"It's okay!" Kirby was walking on the stage and the three Ghostfaces ran away as she came down to them. She had a bleeding wound on the side of her head and looked exhausted.
"Stay the fuck back!" Sam yelled.
"We know it's you, Kirby." Tara glowered at her.
"No. One of them knocked me out." She pointed behind her where one of the Ghostfaces had scurried off to.
"Kirby, stop! Get away from them!" Wayne demanded, pointing his gun at the FBI agent and she did the same to him.
"What are you doing?" Kirby didn't understand why he had his gun on her.
"You stabbed Quinn?" He accused. "Did you almost kill my daughter?!"
"Jesus Christ!" She exclaimed as if he was out of his mind. "Whatever he has been saying to you don't listen to him! He's probably the killer!" Kirby saw a Ghostface appear from a distance, her eyes widening in fear. "Behind you!" She screamed, but Wayne shot at her three times.
Elijah and his friends gaped at what just happened. They were all certain it was Kirby who was the killer, but it turned out to be the detective all along.
"Good job," The three cloaked figures surrounded him. "All of you."
"You?" Elijah asked in disbelief. It was his girlfriend's own father. Surely, Quinn couldn't have been a part of this too. She wouldn't know.
"Yeah, of course me," He answered as if it should've been obvious. "Frankly, I expected more from the rest of you after what you did to us."
"What do you mean 'us'?" Tara questioned.
The first one to unmask himself was Quinn's brother, Ethan.
"Ta da!" Wayne laughed.
"Mindy was right," Ethan smiled. "It was easy to juke the roommate lottery. I mean, all I had to do to meet you was room in with this conceited, condescending alpha, literally named Chad! Fuck, it felt good to kill him!"
"Are you sure you killed him?" Gabrielle asked.
"Isn't that what you wanted me to do, babe?" Ethan smirked at her.
"Babe?" Elijah and Tara asked in surprise. It was another shocking couple like how Amber and Richie were months ago.
"Yeah, it is." Gabrielle approached to the first revealed killer and kissed him deeply on the mouth much to Elijah, Tara, and Sam's astonishment.
"You two are...together?" Elijah asked, still unable to comprehend that pair.
"Yeah, I guess you can say that," Gabrielle shrugged. "I wasn't a part of what they were doing though, but I did know the killers as Ethan and I got closer. It happened after Lucy died."
"Why didn't you tell any of us?"
"And miss the look on your faces? Why would I?" She scornfully laughed, making Ethan and Wayne join her. "Chad deserved what he got after how he's been treating me lately to go after that whore," Her eyes sent daggers to Tara. Sam narrowed her eyes at the Freeman girl because of what she called her sister. "Not surprised that one of you takes after your mother," She sneered. "Someone had to take the psycho killer genes, might as well be Sam, right?"
The serial killer's daughter glared at her.
"This was your grandmother's, Sam," Ethan held up the mask he wore. His knife pointed at it. "Nancy Loomis. Really runs in your fucking family, doesn't it? Wait for it! My name's not Ethan Landry! Is it, Dad?" He looked over to Wayne who was his...father?
"Dad?" Tara and Elijah asked in disbelief.
"Wait. If it's just you two then that leaves..." Sam trailed off to look at the other two masked killers. "Mindy?" She frowned, hating to think it was her.
"Patrick? Danny?" Elijah wondered.
Their hand took off the mask and it was none other than Elijah's roommate, Oliver Jeffries. He had a minacious demeanor.
"Oliver...?" Elijah was stunned.
"Hey, man," Oliver wickedly smirked at him and looked at the mask he was holding. "I believe this mask belonged to your cousin's, right? Jill was her name? She was my favorite. The only one to almost get away with it."
"And you are the killer because...? Why?" He trailed off to impatiently wait for the response. Oliver must've had to juke the roommate lottery, too. "Fan of the movies? Fan of my mother?"
"No, my motive is less juvenile than that," Oliver carelessly tossed the mask aside. "We're all somehow tied up into this twisted family together. And it all started with your mother, Eli. She was the one who ruined mine."
"How did she ruin your family, exactly?" Elijah asked, being very confused.
"Why don't you ask her who Derek Feldman was?" Oliver scowled, his eyes filled with fury. "Because he was my uncle, my mother's younger brother, and he's dead because of the famous final girl," He said his mother's nickname mockingly. "My mother still misses him to this day and it's your mother's fault that he died. Your mother is not so innocent and a victim like she portrays herself to be, Eli, that bitch has blood on her hands! How's that for a motive?" He asked in a low voice with a raised eyebrow.
Elijah didn't know what else to say because he really didn't know who Derek Feldman was. Never heard of his mother spoke about him before.
"What's behind door number three?" Ethan grinned.
The third masked killer had unveiled itself to be...Quinn.
Elijah felt his heart plummet to his stomach and his face paled that it was his own girlfriend. She was the one who he had cut her arm earlier when the Ghostfaces was trying to kill them. That made him feel sick and terrible that he had hurt her like that, but there was a lot other mixed emotions he felt that the third killer was Quinn. It just couldn't be real.
This must've been what his mother felt like from all those years ago when her own boyfriend was the killer.
