We walked back into our room when everything went quiet. We stepped on down when Clagger said, "Vi. Y/n?"
"Where's the.." Vi started till Powder ran over to her.
"You're back." Powder said happily. My eyes started to tear up again at this. Powder then looked up at us realizing something was wrong. Vi walked away going to grab Vanders old metal fists.
"Hey, those are Vander's. Slow down what's going on?" Mylo asked.
"Be- Benzo h-he's dead." I stuttered as tears started running down my face.
"Dead." Clagger repeated.
"They took Vander." Vi told them.
"Who took Vander?" Mylo asked us both.
"Sil-" I was about to say when vi started talking
"We don't know but I need to help him." Vi said
"We're going with you." I said, placing my hand on her shoulder.
"Cupcake, you can't because whatever killed Benzo.. was nothing like I had ever seen." Vi said as she squeezed my hand. It hurt a little but I didn't mind it as long as it helped her. My cheeks also became flushed at the nickname she game me. "It tore him apart." Vi cried. I then went in to hug her and so did mylo and clagger.
"You're not doing this alone vi." Clagger comforted her.
"Yeah he's our father too." Mylo replied.
"I'm sure we will be able to get him back." I told her as I squeezed her hand.
"Do you know where they took him?" Mylo asked.
"Echo followed them. The old cannery next to the docks." Vi said, picking up the metal fists. "He said..." Vi stopped when she looked over at Powder. "I need you to sit this one out, Powder." Vi sighed.
"What?" Powder asked with a confused look on her face.
"You're not coming." Vi told her.
"I'm not afraid." Powder argued.
"Powder, it is way too dangerous." I told her.
"But families stick together. You said that yourself." Powder argued back at me.
"I know but this isn't-" I was saying till Powder started speaking again.
"I want to fight. I can help."
"You're not ready." Vi raised her voice. "You and y/n are all I have left. I can't lose either of you." Vi calming spoke. "Here. If they come for you, take this and run." Vi said handing Powder a flare. "Wherever you are, light it up, and I'll find you. I promise." Vi then hugged her sister before walking out with me right behind her.
Eventually we made it to the place Echo had seen them go. We then climbed up the building looking for a way to get in. Sliding down the side Vi found an entrance.
"Let's get Vander and get out." She whispered to us as she climbed in. Following behind her we made our way down the hall looking for Vander. Looking over I see him in a small room chained to a chair. Vi then signals us to move in. Running we made it across to the room. Looking I saw Vander cough up blood as he awoke.
"Y/n. Vi." Vander was able to spit out. Both vi and I ran over to him and gave him a big hug. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"We're getting you out of here dad." I told him with a smile.
"Mylo." Vi said
"On it." Mylo replied as he started lock picking the cuffs.
"H- how did you get in?" Vander asked. "There's guards everywhere."
"It was easy found an open window and.." Vi stop what she was saying realizing...
"It's a trap! For fucks sake." I shouted.
"You need to get out." Vander told us, but it was too late a voice came from behind.
"Welcome." Said a man. Everyone turned around to see where it came from. "You have my congratulations. But I'm afraid this will be a very short reunion." The man that you figure was Silco said walking up with his goons. I grabbed my knives out of my bag gripping them tightly. "Have you heard the rumor? Vander the coward fled town with his children. And they were never seen again."
"Clagger, see if you can find another way out of here." Vi said as she put on the metal fists getting ready to fight. Both of us stood in front of Vander ready to fight.
"You don't have to do this." Vander pleaded.
"Yes we do." I replied.
Vi walked up ready to face the large goon in front of her. I stayed back, ready to fling my knives at people. The battle began. I started chucking knives at any of the goons. Bang! I looked over to see Vi punch the guy right in the jaw. The man then being knocked out the rest of the goons came to play. Fling! fling! Went two knives straight to the head of two goons.
"Thanks!" Vi shouted to me.
"Yeah no problem." I replied back. Vi was beginning to lose her strength after fighting so many goons. She finally knocked what we thought to be the last one till I looked over. I saw Deckard start to drink something purple. Quickly I threw my knife at the bottle in hopes that he didn't drink it all. It was too late though. The man started growing bigger and his gains turned purple.
"Vi be careful! I- I think that thing killed Benzo." I yelled to Vi. She didn't pay any mind to me as she put her fists up ready to fight again. I went to reach in my back for another knife but there were none left. I looked around to see if any might have ended up on the floor. To which I found one, but one wasn't going to be enough. I watched as Vi ran at the thing then jumped ready to land on it. That wasn't what happened though. The thing then grabbed her by the neck holding her up in the air.
"VI!" I screamed. I ran at it when it threw vi right at me which made me throw my knife. I watched as if in slow motion it flying, hitting the thing right in the heart. The thing paused for a second looking down at its wound. This was my chance I thought as I helped Vi up and set her in the room. Quickly I closed the door, locking it behind us.
"You did good, both of you." Vander complemented us. Vi sat in front of the door trying to hold the thing back. I ran over to Clagger as I tried helping him break through the wall. Just as we got the wall broken and Vander unchained I heard something. It was the sound of one of Powder's monkeys. Having a bad feeling I ran straight to Vi when BANG! A blue explosion blasted everything and everyone. It hit me really hard but I opened my eyes and looked around. When I looked around what I saw was horrific. It was Clagger and Mylo's lifeless bodies under a pile of rubble. Then you looked in front of you to see Vi stuck under the door. Looking over towards the right of vi I saw Vander my dad. He was also looking around till his eyes landed on me.
"Kill them." Silco said. The goons then began to rise headed straight for us.
"Get Vi out of here." Vander cried out. Quickly I got up rushing over to Vi. I then picked up the metal door on top of her as quickly as possible. I screamed in pain as I picked it all the way up. I leaded it against the wall then grabbing Vi as she cried seeing her friends dead. Vander had gotten up and was fighting the rabid thing when Silco stabbed him in the back. Looking back you saw Silco push Vander making him fall to the next floor.
"Find the girls." Silco told the goon. Soon enough the hideous thing was right in front of us. I was so scared I couldn't move my feet and nor could Vi. Suddenly something jumped up on the railing then grabbed the goon at the throat. This new thing then killed the goon in one quick punch. It then started walking towards us scaring me more than the goon. It came closer and then in the light I could see it was Vander. He was different though. He had drunk that same purple stuff. Shrieking, he suddenly ran away from us, but then he saw Silco which made him mad. Vi and I started to run out the hole when we tripped on something. Vander then saw and ran after us. He quickly picked us up and jumped out of the building. Getting up Vi and you look over at Vander.
"Vander." Vi cried as she looked at his almost lifeless body.
"Take care of Powder." Vander told you both. Tears then began flowing down my face as Vander then died.
"DAD! DAD! NOOOO! PLEASE COME BACKKK!" I screamed so loud it hurt my throat.
"NOOOOO!" Vi screamed in the air. Vi then stood up off of Vander's body. I watched her carefully knowing well she was thinking about revenge. Footsteps, I began hearing footsteps. I looked past Vi to see Powder walking over.
What, what's Powder doing here? I thought to myself. Then I realized the explosion was blue just like when the building blew up. It was Powder. She caused the explosion. For both events.
"Vi, Y/n it worked!" Powder said excitedly.
"What..." Vi asked, turning around with a shocked look.
"My monkey bomb finally worked." Powder replied so proud of herself. Though she hadn't realized what all she did.
"You did this?" Vi asked her. Powder then became confused and concerned. She then looked over to realize that Vander was dead.
"Why? Why did you do this?" Vi asked again.
"I.. I. Didn't.. I was saving you." Powder answered. "I only wanted to help." Powder cried. At first I was upset with her but then realized she didn't know. This made me feel very sorry for her.
"I told you to stay away." Vi said harshly.
"Vi she didn't know!" I yelled at her.
"But she should have listened! She knew to stay away!" Vi yelled back at me.
"Any of us would have come here just like her. Especially you Vi! Even if we told you to stay, you would come just like her!" I yelled as I began to stand up.
"Please. Please. Please." Powder begged.
"I told her to stay away!" Vi yelled so enraged she smacked Powder across the face.
"VI! What the fuck was that!" I shouted walking up to her. She then turned around looking at me face to face.
"She's a jinx! Don't you understand. Mylo was right." Vi spouted.
"No, don't you understand Vi? She is all you have left of your family. You should be fucking happy she made it out of there. I don't have anyone left, not even you." I cried, but kept my head high. Vi's face then changed from anger to sorrow realizing what she did. She looked over at Powder to see her sobbing on the floor begging her not to leave her. Vi then looked back at me but she couldn't take it anymore and she walked off.
"Violet please please come back I need you!" Powder cried out watching her sister walk away. As Powder cried I could hear footsteps coming closer.
"Powder we got to go. They're coming back." I said, trying to pull her away. It was no use though she couldn't hear me over her crying. I could here them coming closer so quickly I ducked out of sight behind some boxes. Silco and his goons then came walking up around the corner.
Once he got up to Powder he crouched down and began to speak, "Hello, little girl. Where are you sisters?"
Powder then looked up at him still sobbing. She then lunged at him giving him a hug. My eyes opened wide at this not realizing she would do that.
"They left me." She replied. "They aren't my sisters anymore." Hearing this broke my heart into even tinier pieces. Silco then coddled her in his arms. Not even thinking anymore I ran off tears flowing down my face
