LONG CHAPTER!!
The next morning your owl brought your letter from your parents, you smiled at your owl and patted its head. You teared opened the letter and began to read. As you coutined to read, your smile slowly faded. The letter had said;
To: Y/n
I hope you're doing well at. Hogwarts, we have gotten your first letter, and we are glad that you have your friends are with you. Anyways, we have some news, and it's not very good. Your cat has passed away. (Cats name) was old, and it was time. We are dearly sorry that you weren't here at her/his last moments. We will see you again at Christmas. We love you.

-Mom & Dad
You Instantly broke into tears. Your pet that you have had since you were a baby had died. Tears splashed on the letter. Hermione ran up to you as soon as she saw you crying.
"Y/n? What happend?" She said worried, she was rubbing your back.
"M-my cat.." you said. You could barley talk. "It..died" You finally said.
Hermione frowned. "Get dressed, class starts soon." She said softly.
"Im not..going to go to c-class today." You said rubbing your eyes.
"Alright fine." Hermione said softly.
If the other boys would have stayed in their dorms Hermione would have been furious.
You nodded as Hermione went to the door. She gave you a quick glance and walked out. For a couple hours you said in bed. You just wanted to be alone.
Hermiones POV:
Hermione caught up with the boys.
"Where's Y/n?" Harry asked.
"Her cat died. She wouldn't get out of bed." Hermione explained with her books in her hand. The two boys nodded. "I feel awful. Her eyes were extremely red." Hermione said.
"Also did you two finish the homework?" Hermione asked. Of course she was already done. She finished it the day she got it.
"Wait, what homework?" Ron asked.
Hermione face palmed. "Astronomy?"
Hermione said. Harry and Ron looked at each other. They obviously didn't do it. "Gosh you two seriously need to take studying more serious!" The two boys rolled their eyes.
The trio got to defense against the dark arts class and sat down. Their was an empty seat next to Hermione. It was were Y/n was supposed to sit.
"Mud-blood! Where's L/n?" Draco said glaring at Hermione.
"Non of your business!" She said.
"It is my business since I have detention with her and I need to know where she is." Draco demanded.
"She's in our dorm."
"Why"
"Because something happend. That's all you need to know."
Draco of course rolled his eyes.
Your POV:
You got out of bed rubbing your eyes, you got changed into your robes and walked towards your favorite place, the tree. You sat down under it and quietly sobbed into the sleeve of your robe. You leaned your back on the trunk of the tree when someone sat next to you. You execpted it to be Hermione, or even Harry.
"Y/n.." Someone said softly towards you. You looked at the person. It was Draco Malfoy.
"Draco!?" You said rubbing your eyes, you felt embarrassed because you were crying.
"How do you know where I was?" You asked him. "I dunno. I overheard Hermione talking about you and your uh cat, and she mentioned how this tree is your favorite spot. So I figured you'll be here." Draco smiled at you.
"Well uh, thanks." You said. "Wait.." you replied. "Its Snapes class right now? Why aren't you there?" You asked. "I'll rather be here then be in Snapes class." Draco replied rubbing your back. You two continued to make small talk.
Eventually Snapes class was over and Hermione came running towards you with Harry and Ron.
"There you ar-" Hermione started, then she laid her eyes on Malfoy.
"Why is he with you? Was he bugging you?" She asked crossing her arms.
"No, he was just comforting me, dont worry." You said. Draco stood up and stood behind you. "We have to go to detention now Y/n." Draco said, he was awfully defensive. "I gotta go- Bye guys I'll see you later!" You said walking with Draco towards Snapes classroom.
The walk to the classroom was awkward. Nobody talked and you two just walked.
Once you got into the class you cleaned up some stuff, it was boring.
You sighed. "Don't worry. It's only a week of detention left." Draco muttered. "Good. I miss hanging out with Hermione after classes." You said. Draco didn't seem to like you mentioning Hermione.
"Would you shut up about that Mud-blood!" Draco spat. "Don't call her that Draco." You said. "Whatever. Y/n L/n you need new friends anyways." He said to you.
"Im not sure why you care about who im friends with." "I don't know either." He said fixing his messy hair with his hand.
