Chapter 3: Face to Face

An exhausting day of training made Lyn tired. She goes and hits the showers but couldn't get Smoke off of her mind. After her shower, she trains in her room in order to be ready for tomorrow's training, "I have to be on the top of my game and not let the others get the upper hand." she stops her training and stands in the middle of her room to look out the window to admire the night sky, "It's so beautiful I have to be ready to see Smoke." she lays down in her bed and goes to sleep. The next morning Lyn starts to learn the ways of the Shirai Ryu. The Grandmaster walks in to give them lessons to enhance their training. As each student is standing there listening to the grandmaster, Smoke walks in as Lyn's solemn focus is on him as the Grandmaster orders her, "Lyn face Master Smoke." she stands there in disbelief afraid to fight him as she thinks to herself, "Okay Lyn do not mess this up and don't humiliate yourself you can do this." she walks up and bows to him and the fight begins. She throws knives and uses her staff to defend herself as Smoke dodges her attacks. He gets the upper hand eventually laying a hit on her by punching her across the face, "What? How did he do that? He slid so fast I couldn't keep up."  she said left speechless. She beats him and wins the match until he uses his puff of smoke to teleport and sneak up behind her to take her down, "A little word of advice: Never turn your back on you enemy regardless if you win or lose. They would have an opportunity to take you down and you will lose." Kuai Liang looks at the two, "That's enough you two are dismissed." Lyn looks at the remaining initiates including Hanzo Hashashi with humiliation and embarrassment. She gets up from the floor and goes with the other initiates to pay attention to what the Grandmaster had to say next, "Tomas is correct. What you just witnessed should not happen when you fighting your opponent. Take a water break." The initiates go into the break room to have a water break while Lyn sits there feeling ashamed for what everyone witnessed
