"Thank you, Alpha Colton for allowing us into your territory." a haunting voice addressed Colton.
"It's not a problem but I feel as I should correct you as to say it isn't just a territory; it's a home. My Luna and I's home if I could be so bold as to call it so." I could detect the anger in Colton's voice and I smiled.
There was a moment of silence before the reply came, "Luna? Does that mean you found your second mate?" his voice was shocked.
"Yes, I did and she's absolutely perfect." Colton's voice sounded polite but I knew what he was doing. Sneaky person.
"That's amazing. Praise to Gaia then." a woman's voice rang out.
"You have no idea." Colton said and I snorted. Ain't that the truth.
"Well, my son isn't far behind us. He should be pulling up soon but shall we go to the meeting room? He can show himself in I assume?" I held back a growl. That man didn't care who's land he was on. He acted as if he was the alpha on it.
Colton practiced control and answered, "Of course. Someone will be here to direct him. Please hold on one minute. My mate tends to take a while to get ready." rolling my eyes I walked to my bedroom door and opened it.
Colton's footsteps became louder as he made his way up the stairs towards me. I walked out the door and towards him. My nerves were causing my stomach to be a bit uneasy. Memories were rushing back and I was finding it a bit hard to breathe. I felt a pair of hands wrap around my upper arms and I flinched.
"Whoa, Ketzia, relax. It's just me. They can't hurt you anymore. You're not the same person you were then." Colton's whole body radiated concern. I nodded my head and took a deep breath.
"Right. They can't hurt me."
"Exactly. And if they tried they would have our jaws on their asses in a blink of an eye." the image snapped me out of my nervous state and I felt like myself again. Colton always knew what to say when I got like this. I hugged him.
"Thank you." his arms wrapped around me and squeezed.
"Just trying to be useful." he smiled. I pulled out of his arms and spun around.
"Well be useful and tell me what you think?" his eyes darkened a considerable amount when his eyes registered the all black suit I was wearing. The outfit consisted of just a blazer, skinny pants, black heels, and gold necklace. My hair was straightened but in a high ponytail. My make up was a neutral smokey eye with dark red lipstick. To say the outfit was a formal sexy was an understatement. The bra Cassie had picked out couldn't be seen but made my breasts look extremely good. The outfit was tailored for my body which means my curves were showing in the right way. I had to admit shopping with those crazy girls paid off.
"I think...That you're going to make this meeting seriously hard for me to concentrate." his voice was low and dangerously sexy. I could feel my hormones rising. I smiled.
"Thanks. You're not too bad yourself." Oh he was glorious in a navy blue suit with no tie and a black shirt and shoes. His hair was slicked back and his facial features were prominent. I wanted to run my finger along his jaw but I kept my hands to myself.
"Your eyes are saying something different." He whispered. I smiled.
"So are yours but let's go." I grabbed his hand and he made his way downstairs. When we got to the bottom we looked around in confusion.
"Where the hell did they go?" I asked and Colton let out a frustrated growl.
"That man probably found someone to lead him to the meeting room." I shook my head.
"He thinks he's king of the world. I swear I wouldn't mind knocking him of his throne." I spat out and walked towards the room. Colton chuckled and squeezed my hand. I let out a laugh to let him know that I was still in control of myself. The entire gang would be in the meeting tonight as a safety precaution. They were there to keep me in check. No one could predict how tonight would go.
After a few twists and turns we finally made it to the meeting room. It was a large room with a long table in the middle. It was a plain room since I didn't have time to upgrade it which meant the walls were a dark grey with white trimmings. Hardly any other furnishings except a table with two jugs of ice water.
We walked into the room and everyone stood up as we entered. As soon as I saw my old pack members no emotions hit me and that surprised me. I was so use to having panic attacks when I thought about them but now it was just...nothing. I was able to breathe normally and my heartbeat was under control. And it was in that moment I knew that I was passed what they had done to me. Because as I looked at my pack mates glaring at them I knew that if I hadn't gone through what I had I wouldn't have the family and memories I had now.
All eyes were on me as I walked to my seat. Cassie and Shila gave me a thumbs up and cheeky smiles and I winked at them.
"Please sit down." Colton announced and we all sat down. I looked at my ex-mate and my heart did a 180 degree flip when I saw Alex sitting on Colton's right side. Since he was the alpha he had to sit next to the alpha leading the meeting, followed by his beta, then his parents. There were a couple body guards standing behind them. One look at them I knew that Erik still hadn't changed the way the training was carried out. I silently snorted at the bad methods used.
"This meeting has been called because Moonstone Pack has a mission for us. There has been an influx of rogues on their land. They have been stirring trouble but haven't done much damage. However, they fear that there might be a war. We are being deployed to update their training and fight if need be. I believe this decision will be accepted or declined by my mate." my head snapped in Colton's direction and I wanted to kick him. He just brought the attention to me. I narrowed my eyes at him but he just nodded.
"As one of the head fighters I will personally look over whatever information that has been given-"
"Who are you?" Erik cut me off and I glared at him. My entire group just went stiff. Everybody knew you didn't cut me off while I was talking business.
I cleared my throat. "If you could wait until I finished my sentence I will address the question and any more after that." I opened my mouth to carry on but he cut me off again.
"No, I'd like to know now." he pressed.
"Father." Alex warned and shook his head. Oh look! The pup learned some manners. I looked at Alex and saw he was giving me a look that said he was trying to figure out the question himself. I ignored it and tried to speak again.
"I should warn you, Erik, that cutting me off while I am explaining can be a very dangerous thing. You are here on my territory asking for our help. Coming in here with an air of superiority over us is a bad move on your part as I could gladly prove you wrong on that account. If you keep disturbing me you can leave and face those rogues on your own as I am doubly sure that there weren't any other packs willing to answer your call for help. So keep your mouth shut." silence lasted for 5 seconds before Erik shot of his chair.
"How dare you speak to me like that! You may be a luna but you are not an official luna since I don't see a mate mark on you nor do I see a ring. You have no right to address me as you did!"
"Erik, you will respect my mate." Colton stood up slowly and menacingly.
"Tonight was suppose to be the unification ceremony but as a alpha couple we decided the need to protect innocent kappa was more of a priority. Despite not having my mark she has every right to address you as she wishes. You will show her the same respect you show me despite it being little." I sent a smug look his way. Daring him to try something.
"That's it we're leaving. We can handle the rogues on our own." Erik said getting ready to leave by pulling his wife up off her chair. I saw by the whimper she tried to hide that he gripped a spot on her that was bruised. Judging by the long sleeved top despite it being hot it meant he beat her recently. That got my anger boiling.
"You selfish, arrogant, blinded, ungrateful, abusive bastard!" I shouted and stood up. Wide eyes shot to me. My body was starting to vibrate with anger, "You would leave innocent kappa defenseless against a rogue attack all because your ego can't take the truth?" Erik was livid with anger.
"I am not leaving them defenseless! I will find help somewhere else!"
I snorted, "No one wants to help yo because of who you are. You are someone who wouldn't mind kicking people to the ground so that you can stay on top. You took an oath as an alpha. To protect, to love, to care, to provide for your pack. I don't see any love or care for your pack. All of that is reserved for you and your money!"
"I want to know who the hell you are, right now!" he shouted at me. The alpha in him was coming out to challenge me and my wolf wasn't liking it one bit. There was a small pop in my ear and I felt a presence exude from me with a loud growl. Everyone was standing on their guard. My pack ready to fight theirs.
"You want to know who I am? Let me tell you. I was that girl who your pack decided wasn't worthy enough to be called a wolf. I was that girl who ran away and started a life of her own. I am the new luna of the Black River Pack. I am a Telikos Epsilon . I am Ketzia Jacob and you will respect me and my pack or so help me Gaia you will face the consequences."
One by one people dropped to their knees. My alpha presence was out in huge amounts. The last to stand was Alex and Colton. Alex was shaking uncontrollably; fighting the need to bow in submission but he gave out and fell to his knee.
"Ketzia." Colton ground out and I looked at him. He was shaking too. The muscle in his jaw was jumping indicating he was grinding his teeth while trying to fight it. He wasn't going to last much longer. I reigned the alpha presence in with surprising ease and Colton let out a sigh of relief and gave me a questioning look.
"I'll explain later." I mouthed and he nodded. Everybody slowly got to their feet. My pack had looks of awe on their faces while our guests had looks of shock on theirs.
"Ketzia?" a voice I've never heard in a while softly called out and I looked towards the end of the table. There standing was my old parents Olivia and Nathaniel Hutchinson along with my brother Kairo. They had tears in their eyes. I felt happy to see my parents but Kairo was another story. I felt nothing. So,I nodded and sat down again.
"Yes. Now let's get this meeting started again."
