7 years later

"Tomas where are you?" I whisper through the phone.

"Sorry Mia, you have to follow the signs and notes." And with that the line clicks dead.

I sigh with exasperation.

Tomas and I have been together for 8 years, and now I have finished college at the University Of Texas, and Tomas is doing his master's degree at the University Of Texas. We moved in together on the last year of college. Nothing changed between us. The sparks were still there, the love grew stronger and our relationship stayed strongly compacted.

After we had graduated from high school Tomas and I went to Hawaii by ourselves. We spent 2 weeks there, swimming with the fish in the reefs, looking out the window of the helicopter and just spending time with each other. Everything felt perfect. There was nothing that could pull us apart again.

I look at the note again.

Go to the place of where you met Cole when you came back to Texas.

So my house? But I'm already in my house. But I met him outside of my house, so it's probably my front door.

I quickly run down stairs to the door. I'm staying with my parents this weekend, because my parents wanted to spend time with their 'little daughter' even though I'm all grown up.

I open the door to find another note.

To where flowers bloom then bought.

Where flowers bloom? A field? But they're being bought? So it's a store. Then something in my mind clicks. There is a little cute shop a few blocks away that sells flowers.

I quickly think of the best way to get there. Running of course.

I speed down the pedestrian walk way, and while keeping an eye out for the flower shop.

I slowly come to a stop when I find the flower shop.

When I walk in to the store a little chime sounds when I walk through the door. The old lady behind the desk sees me and smiles.

"Are you Mia?" She asks.

"Yes m'am, that's me." I say politely.

"Well I have something for you." She slowly bends down begin the counter and pull out a pink rose with a piece of paper.

"I think there's a special boy waiting for you." She smiles.

I laugh lightly while taking the paper and rose.

I slowly open up the folded paper and read:

Go to the place where you can get jewelry, here's a hint: it has your middle name in it.

Jewelry store? Really?

Middle name? How does it know my middle name?

My middle name is Avery.

So the jewelry store must be James Avery.

I run to the mall where I know there is a James Avery store.

I see the door of the store and I quickly open them. I see a young lady standing next to the rings on display. I slowly walk towards.

"You're Mia, right?" She asks.

"Yes I am." I reply.

"Well in that case I have something for you." She pulls the glass door and retrieves a beautiful silver ring.

She hands me the ring with another piece of paper.

"Here you go. Let me just tell you, that boy of yours is a keeper, don't let him go." She says with a wink.

"I won't." I smile.

I slide the ring on my right hand on the middle finger. The ring is in a heart shape, it really is beautiful.

I open the piece of paper.

This is your last stop. Now you'll find me in a place that has the best food, and is named after you favorite cake.

My favorite cake is cheesecake and its a good restaurant too.

The Cheesecake Factory.

I walk down the street to the Cheesecake Factory. This is where Tomas is going to be.

I walk faster, until I reach the front doors of the restaurant.

I slowly grasp the handle of the door and push it forward.

I'm surprised with rose petals on the ground and the slow music that is playing in the background.

One of the waiters sees me and starts to walk towards me.

"You are Mia? Are you not?" He asks.

"Yeah I'm Mia." I reply.

"So you are the one that he chooses." He talks about Tomas.

I smile and nod.

"Well follow me then." As he starts to walk towards a booth in the corner of the restaurant.

He shows me my seat I sit down slowly. Where's Tomas didn't he say I was going to find him here?

I look through the window to see people walking out of their cars and entering shops and restaurants.

I hear a slight cough behind me and quickly spin around.

"Tomas?" I say surprised.

The thought quickly resisters through my head and I quickly jump up from my seat.

He hugs me tight and I return it.

"What was with the-" I notice Tomas hasn't sat down yet.

I look at him. "Are you alright?" I ask.

"Yeah I'm all good, but I need to tie my shoelace. Just give me a second." And I watch him fall to his knees tying his shoelace.

I grab the menu from the table and start to look what to order.

"C'mon Tomas, how long does it take to tie your shoes?" I turn back around to see Tomas on one knee just looking at me.

"Tomas are you okay?"I ask a little bit worried.

"Mia, I love you, and I know I was lucky when you moved to the house beside me. I couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe what happened between us. I know that we have had a lot of bad times, but I keep on remembering all the great ones we have had. I've enjoyed every minute of us being together. I wouldn't want it any other way. So instead of making this way too long than it should be, I'm going to cut it. Mia I love you, today, tomorrow and any other day. I wouldn't be able to think of any other day when you're not around. I love you with all my heart. So Mia, will you do the greatest honor of my life and marry me?" He says whiling pulling out a gorgeous ring.

I can't speak, I didn't know this was coming. Oh my goodness.

I see the other customers watching us closely, I can see an old lady with her husband smiling at us.

I look back at Tomas and look how much I love him. He is the greatest thing that has happened to me.

I look at him and give him my answer.

"I'll marry you if you marry me." And with that I jump on to him with full speed. I can feel tears dripping down my face, and I know I'm smiling like crazy.

Tomas holds me tight and quickly slips on the engagement ring. He pulls me up off the floor and spins me around.

I hear an applause coming around from the other customers, and I feel my face becoming redder by the minute.

"I was kind of scared you were going to say no at first." He whispers in to my ear.

I pull my head back and smile at him, "I would never say no Tomas."

"Well that's a relief." He chuckles.

I laugh and realize how my life has turned out. How I met Tomas, how we became us. I am grateful for us, and what the stars have done. I am grateful for what the stars have given me, and how they showed me the path with Tomas.

Because I know I'll have everything if I have the stars beside me and Tomas always there for me.
