"And he smirked. Ugh, I hate him. Why did the writer have to add him? He's always making things difficult for others. I hate him!" A girl was peacefully cursing someone in the library.
She was lucky that nobody else was present there. Otherwise, she would have been kicked out long ago.
"What happened next?" Just as she was about to turn to the other page, she felt someone's hand on her shoulder and she stood up with a jerk.
Her breathing became uneven. She looked like she had seen a ghost.
"Are you ok, Endora?" Her only friend, Stella asked.
She nodded her head but she didn't seem ok.
"Here, drink a few sips."
With shaky hands, Endora takes the water bottle from Stella's hands.
"I think that you should see a psychologist. Your reactions to touches aren't normal. It seems as if you are afraid that the other person is going to push you off a cliff," Stella's laugh echoes through the empty library.
Endora didn't find it amusing. But she didn't want to upset Stella since she knew that Stella was only trying to lighten up things.
Expect, it ended up making things worse. She started to feel a little dizzy but not enough to collapse.
She gulped down water. It did make her feel better. She thanked Stella and took her book.
Stella linked her arm with Endora's arm.
It has become an everyday thing for them. If someone sees them then they will think that they have known each other for ages but it has only been a few months.
"Who were you cursing?"
"It's an incomplete book written by an unknown author named 'Esmeray'. It has this one character that I really hate. Yet, somehow he's loved by the other readers. I wonder how they managed to love him despite the fact that he always makes things difficult for the main characters."
An annoyed look was covering Endora's face. Stella looked amused. It was their thing.
Endora was the girl who would read lots of books and Stella was the one who would hear her ranting about the books she read.
"From the little fictional heart that has grown in my body after hearing so many stories from your lips, I swear that if this guy was a real-life human, I would think that you are going to fall for him. It has to be an enemy to lovers," she seemed excited.
But Endora looked disgusted. Fall for a guy who tries to kill his own step-sibling? No, thanks.
"Keep on dreaming because he's just a fictional character and I am a real-life human being. We both are never going to meet with each other," Endora chuckled, bringing Stella out of her dreamland.
"Nothing is impossible. What if you both end up meeting? Would you fall for him or continue to hate him?"
"I will forever hate him from the core of my heart, huh."
"Sure, you will. Now, let's go home. I can't wait to relax," Stella said in a singing manner.
Endora's eyes dimmed down a little. Home? She wasn't aware that she had any.
She opened her eyes and found herself directly staring at the white walls of a hospital bed.
The nurse said that she was found near a river. They said that she was all alone.
Despite staying in the hospital for so many days, nobody came to visit her.
She was waiting and waiting and waiting but it never seemed to end.
And, she gave her. She was tired of everything.
She didn't even know whether she actually had any relatives or not. She could have searched for them but destiny played a really cruel game.
She has lost her memory. She doesn't know who she is, or what her name is.
She was in such a hopeless situation that she wanted to die. She didn't have money, a roof over her head, and most importantly, money to pay for the hospital bills.
She was about to fry her brain with overthinking when a nurse said that since nobody had come to visit her and she couldn't remember anything, they would let the bills slide away.
Endora felt like crying. She never thought that these people would be so kind to her yet lots of unexpected things happened to her.
She brushed it off by thinking that it was nothing but their kindness.
Little did she know that one of her kidneys was gone. They checked her during a coma and saw that she was perfectly healthy.
And decided that if she has to live with only one kidney for the rest of her life then she can do that.
She got a job as a waitress to pay off her expenses. The money was just enough.
For some weird reason, her heart would always take her to writing books and she decided to give it a shot.
She got contracted by a company within a month. This money added to the other money was enough to admit her into a college.
She lives in the hostel and only has one friend. But it doesn't matter as long as she's alive.
After all, her survival was a miracle itself since she didn't know how to swim.
Despite having only one friend, she wasn't upset by any means. The reason? She got books to keep her glued to them.
"Whoever wrote this book should get inside this book to feel the character's situation. How can the writer be so cruel to give the characters such pitiful lives?" She started to curse the author.
God and a few angels were watching everything.
"How can someone be this dumb?" God asked. The Angels just gave him a hopeless look.
They couldn't say anything to anger the god.
"Should we fulfill one of her wishes?" He asked. The Angels knew that whenever God said something like this, it was not good news.
But as sinister as this might sound, they wanted to enjoy some drama.
