This is crazy. I'm on my way to find Ulysses Klaue with the Avengers. I don't know who Ulysses is, but apparently he's a bad man. We're also hoping to find Ultron and the twins. You know, get in a fight. All that "hero" stuff.
I walked down the halls, avoiding anyone that might pass. As I trudged on and got closer to the conversation happening between Ultron and Ulysses, I could start to make out what they were saying.
"Stark," a voice said. I'm guessing it's Ulysses.
"What," now that's Ultron.
"Tony Stark used to say that... to me. You're one of his," uh oh. Bad move Ulysses S. Grant.
"What!? I'm not... I'm not. You think I'm one of Stark's puppets, his hollow men? I mean, look at me, do I look like Iron Man," right then I heard a loud thud noise. "I'm sorry. I'm sor- Ooh. I'm Sure that's going to be okay. I'm sorry, I just don't understand. Don't compare me with Stark," he got aggravated fast. "It's a thing with me. Stark is, he is a sickness."
"Listen, I agree with you on this. He is a sickness, but you don't see me cutting off people's arms," I walked out of my hiding spot, as Thor and Steve followed. Tony appeared in his Iron Man suit.
"Ahh. Junior. You're gonna break your old man's heart," Tony imitated a disappointed voice, completely ignoring what I said.
"If I have to," Ultron responded.
"We don't have to break anything," Thor tried to reckon with the robot man thing.
"Clearly you've never made an omelet," Ultron quickly replied.
"He beat me by one second," Tony sounded defeated. Which was stupid. This literally isn't the time.
"Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable? Like old times?" Pietro spoke up.
"This was never my life," Tony put his head down.
"You two can still walk away from this," Steve spoke to the twins.
"Oh we will," Wanda responded. When did she become so sassy?
"I did," I interrupted what Cap was going to say. I stepped forward and took off my face cover. "I walked away. From all of it. Please, you know me," I was surprised Ultron let me speak, but then again, I guess he wanted the twins to decide for themselves.
"Dj?" Pietro sounded disappointed.
"Ahh, Diola. I heard about you. And of course, we can't forget about your father," Ultron remarked.
"Yes, we can forget about him. But that's not the point. Wanda? Pietro? You can become bette-"
"Better?" I was cut off by Wanda. "You really think you're becoming better? After everything you did. Everyone you've killed. All those poor people. You think coming along with the Avengers is going to fix all of it. All of your problems with no solutions. Joining the Avengers isn't going to get you what you're looking for, Diola. You could never find the family you want and you never will. And this, most definitely, isn't going to get your dad back, so I'd suggest you give up before you get hurt," I didn't know what to say. I was left shocked by this.
I was mad. Out of everyone in this room, she should get me. I was filled with anger. What the hell!? How does she have the right to talk to me that way? Oh, that's right she doesn't. She had no right to do that in front of everybody. Now I have to forget everything about finally having a family.
All of a sudden, my head started hurting. It was pounding. I could hear the thoughts of a young woman. It was Wanda. She tried to read my mind. But I can hear her thoughts too.
"Anybody ever tell you, it's rude to read people's minds?" I asked her telepathically. A smirk grew on her face.
"You really think they're going to accept you?" Once they find out what you've done, you think they're going to want you?" Wanda was really getting on my nerves.
"I don't give a shit if they accept me. It's too late to try to be someone good in this world," I responded.
"Then why are you here?"
"It's the next fastest way to die," I replied and tilted my head towards her.
"You want to die with all those people you killed on your conscience?" She asked, but this tume aloud. This must be confusing for everyone else.
My eyes glowed blue as a blue mist radiated from my body.
"I know you've suffered," Steve lifted his hands and moved them up and down, telling us to calm down. He was trying to dial down the tension between Wanda and I.
"Uughh! Captain America. God's righteous man, pretending you could live without war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth but..." Ultron spoke to the very annoyed American flag that stood behind me.
Thor interrupted him. "If you believe in peace, then let us keep it."
"I think you're confusing peace with quiet."
"Yuh huh. What's the vibranium for?" Tony asked.
"I'm glad you asked that," this was when I got a feeling in my stomach and could hear something I could not recognize. Something was about to happen. I put my face cover on.
"because I was going to take this time to explain my evil plan," Ultron let out all of his drones and flew after Tony. As they flew up in the air and began fighting, the drones came after us. They began fighting Steve and Thor. The feeling I had earlier, predicted this would happen.
"Diola! No fighting!" Tony reminded me on the coms.
"Uhh," that was my response. I saw a drone coming after me. I used my powers to lift the drone in the air. I held the body still, as the neck began to twist, popping its head off. "Oops. I think I broke your robo boy, Ultron," I looked down at the head.
"Diola, what did I just say?"
"You said I can fight if I get attacked. It attacked me!" I yelled into my earpiece, as a drone fired his blaster at me. I quickly moved away, used my powers to grab the blast and threw it back at the robot. "Yeah. No. I'll just let them kill me next time, Tony. That's my fault, " I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes.
"Diola?!" Tony yelled at me.
"What?!" I yelled back and lifted my hands up.
"Get out of here. We can't have you dying right now," Tony told me.
"No offense, but I actually don't care."
"Dj, I agree with Tony. You need to make your way out of here," I heard Steve behind me fighting the drones.
I groaned and rolled my eyes. I ultimately decided on teleporting to the hallway out of here, leave, and never come back. My body flickered in and out and flickered back. Now I was in the hallway I once snuck through and was so ready to give up on everything. Even getting revenge on Tony. I was just done.
I was just about ready to leave, but I felt that feeling in my stomach. I heard breathing I could not hear before. I got goosebumps, the breathing got louder and my stomach made me feel like I was falling. This all happened in a few seconds. I got a feeling someone was behind me. I got my powers ready and quickly turned around. It was Wanda... again. She moved her hand to my forehead. It felt like she was forcing something through my mind.
I made a wall of blue and pushed it back towards her, forcing her out of the room. I groaned at the pain piercing through my head. I couldn't think straight. Everything in the room was multiplying, all the thoughts in my head jumbled all together, making none of them decipherable. I could hear the voices of the Avengers trying to make sense of it all. I stumbled to the floor, sitting against the wall. I started hearing voices in my head.
"You will become a weapon."
"You are important to Hydra."
"You must now go on missions. You will be partnered with an advanced soldier. Do not disappoint me."
"Do not let them live Diola!"
"You're useless here."
"I am very disappointed in you. If you cannot kill these people, you will no longer be an asset here."
"Sit here. How old are you? And what is your name?"
"Nine. Diola James. What am I sitting in?" a younger voice asked.
"An electric chair. You made a mistake. You cost us a lot. This is how you are going to repay. You will always pay for your mistakes,"
"Yes sir."
Screams filled my ears, as tears did in my eyes.
"Please. I have a family."
"I can't make any more mistakes."
A gunshot. A memory. They were mistakes I could never repay.
The screams went on. I tried to cover my ears to make it stop. I buried my head into my knees. All the screaming. They continued and wouldn't stop. I sobbed into my knees.
"Dj," I heard a whisper. This time it wasn't in my head.
I looked up. Clint was trying to get me to stand. I looked at my hands, there was blood. I felt behind my ears and there were deep scratches from my nails. I had tried so hard to not hear what was going on, I scratched all along the back of my ears.
Clint held my hand and quickly led us out of the building.
"I'm sorry." Was a whisper of guilt I let out.

Hey besties, I really like this chapter and I hope you did too. Just a heads up, Dj, in the next chapter, will be explaining how she feels about everything and will ultimately try to hurt herself, so if you don't want to read that then you really don't have to read the next chapter. The next chapter doesn't really change the plot much, so if you want to skip to the chapter after then that's fine. 😘😘
