At Fisk's underground lab, Allistair had just returned, keeping his injury contained to the best if his abilities. The pain practically burned his skin, and it felt harder to move than it should normally. As he walked further in the lab, the lights would slowly come on further and further, until at long last, Allistair was staring at both of the Fisks in the lab, one looking disappointed, and the other trying to not lose himself to his sheer anger. "Fisk, let me explain-"
"You have failed to defeat Spider-Man....he humiliated you, threw you around like garbage, and was able to damage you more than ever before.... give me one good reason to not have you shut down permanently?" Wilson asked with a cold look in his eyes.
"Because I have a way to defeat him next time......." Allistair answered quickly, fear resignating in his eyes. Thankfully, he could tell the corrupt mayor of New York was intrigued by what he was saying and waited for him to continue. "Even if I fail the next time, I learn more about him as we fight or I watch him fight. I always be upgraded to be better and more durable..... However all I require is an upgrade in my body. Grant me that, and the next time he and I meet, he will be squashed like the small insignificant bug he is." He then promised, praying he could continue his pursuit.
Richard glares at Allistair, grabbing him by his shoulder blasters with his claws out, struggling to maintain control. "Do you honestly expect us to believe that you will truly succeed in killing off the bug?! You failed horribly last time so what are the odds you won't this time?!" He shouted, trying to not completely snap.
Wilson grabbed his son and did his best to relax him so he wouldn't transform into that reptile beast again. "Patience my son.... should he fail, then we shall find a new way to defeat him.....one that will show that pest his true place." He assured him before looking at Smythe. "You shall get as you have requested .....I can upgrade you more to have even more weapons and better armor than you ever had before. However, it will take time for that to truly work." He warned his assistant gone machine. "However, should you fail me .....you will never be allowed to leave this place.....you will stay until you have completely obliterated Spider-Man....." H then said coldly, showing Smythe he wasn't messing around with this.
After five minutes walking into the lab, Smythe finds himself in a containment unit, stepping inside it and feeling himself getting sprayed with gas and passing out. Inside the pod, machines started working on him, immediately upgrading his weapons, adding several more weapons in his arsenal and soon making his skin more thick, more durable to attacks, and more powerful so he could truly crush the web head. This was a process though, that would take a full day, maybe longer to fully see it completed, a process Wilson was willing to wait for.
Meanwhile, at the Parker house, Will was in the kitchen, eating an apple while trying to formulate a plan. Peter however, was watching Will, being sure he didn't do anything rash and hoping he wouldn't beat himself up too much. "Look kid, don't best yourself up over this. He's going to get captured and brought in." Parker promised.
The curly haired boy looks up at his mentor, still a little annoyed by the fact he didn't beat him the first time. "It's more than that .... you've seen what Fisk is doing. Upgrading supervillains, giving them weapons and that super soldier serum that's transforming them into these crazy things, and basically covering his tracks by any means necessary." He states with half frustration, and half a calmer tone.
Parker looked away for a few seconds, understanding where Will was coming from. "You want to be more prepared for what they throw at you.... become stronger with your powers....."
"It's more than stronger....I want to be faster, more agile....and more....hyper-aware.... I guess is the term I'm looking for." Will explained calmly. "Like.....use my spider sense for more than just danger, use it to detect more, and be ready to face anything that comes my way...." He added on, trying to explain it in a way that would make sense for both of them.
The retired her nodded in understanding, showing he got the jist of what he was trying to explain. "Then I think I can help you with that....but you'll have to trust me entirely with this." Parker requested with a calm and composed expression. "I have a method to help you with it .... but it's something we both have to agree on."
Will looked at his mentor, knowing he was telling the truth. Though he wasn't entirely sure how they would achieve this, he knew that he could count on Peter. "Alright....I'm in. What do you have in mind?" He asked with curiosity.
Peter sat next to his student, hands folded together on table. "First step in all this....... combining your superpower with your average everyday trait...what's one thing you were able to do even before you got your powers?" He asked, trying to give the curly haired boy a hint. Unfortunately it was obvious he wasn't catching on quite yet. "Your adaptability, your ability to learn on the fly. Your talent comes from recognizing patterns and your senses are enhanced because of your spider sense. Let both of those work together in sync, and you'll be able to see and sense even more than you ever have before." He then explained, showing Will he was paying attention to his strengths.
With that sentence, it all clicked in Will's mind. It was so obvious that he couldn't see it. It was practically right in his face. Parker was right, he just had to practice with his spider sense to make it stronger and more instinctual. "Alright....where do we begin?" He asked calmly as he stood up tall, ready to conquer his next step in his hero's training.
About an hour later, Will was on a rooftop with Parker setting something up for him. "This will be an extremely difficult training session for you, but it's going to be worth it." The retired superhero told Will as he typed in specific commands on his computer.
The rookie superhero waited at the very center of the building with his arms folded along his chest. Whatever Peter had in store for him, Will was getting noticably curious and slightly impatient. "I'm fine with difficult I can take it. I just want to get started as soon as possible." He said honestly, trying his best not to move around too much.
"Don't you worry kid, I'm almost done with this. Just a few more things I need to activate....." Parker told Will calmly, finishing up on typing in what he needed for this to fully work. With that, his system was up and running, lights flashing ever so slightly before several holograms of Peter's enemies show up, surrounding Will. Above them were holograms of civilians, including a familiar face to Peter.
The curly haired boy looked around him to see what he was up against. Sure enough, he saw many of Parker's foes from his younger days. Kraven, Sandman, Rhino, Shocker, Doc Ock, Scorpion, Hydroman, just to name a few. "Whoa....." Will muttered with surprise. But he quickly understood what the objective was upon seeing them. He then looked up to see a particular person in hologram form. A familiar red haired girl, with a beautiful smile. "Is that....?"
"Mary Jane.....my wife....yeah it's her......I must've put her in the program by accident...." Parker admitted sadly, feeling the weight of his pain crushing him from within. Memories of him being happy with his wife came to him all at once, and while he couldn't cry, he couldn't help but feel completely hurt seeing her again, wishing she was real so he could hold her in his arms once more. He shook his head, pulling himself out of his funk. For he knew that the two of them had work to do. "But that's enough of that for now. Get ready." He commanded Will with a more serious tone.
Will took a fighting stance as he noticed the villains surrounding him, each seeming to get ready to attack him individually. But as he was getting ready to fight, he could see his eye lenses suddenly close on him. So now, he was basically blind, being forced to use his instincts only. "Alright I see what you're doing...then let's do it." He sHd while getting in a fighting stance, using his spider sense to try and be his eyes and ears. It took a few seconds for him to adjust, but as he did, he could make out the way his spider sense felt as danger came his way, as well as his surroundings. When he felt Scorpion's tail strike for him, he dodged and grabbed his tail, sliding down it to kick him in the face. He didn't have time to relax though, as he immediately jumped to the side and dodged Doc Ock's tentacles that were quickly headed his way. But he was able to dodge each one and get a little closer to his foe.
Parker watched the curly haired superhero evade the Android's attack, seeming to be impressed with his agility and adaptability. He was already showing that he was learning quickly how to use his abilities in sync. There were some things he could do differently in his head, but he was realizing that he was doing things with his own style and finesse, and he was getting even better with it. 'Maybe he will be ready one day.....and make this city safer than it ever was before....' Parker thought to himself as he watched his student.
Meanwhile, Will was getting just a little closer to the android, all while dodging and countering strikes with grace and agility. It wasn't long before he saw that he didn't need his spider sense for every danger needed as long as he knew the patterns of villains attacks. So that was what he did....three seconds. That was about how long it would take for the arms that were used to attack him. They had a time to recover and get closer to him for another strike. That window was 2-3 seconds. But it was just enough for his counter attack he had planned. So with this in mind, he jumped in the air slightly, spinning a little to evade the onslaught of all four mechanical tentacles and webbed Ock to pull himself forward so hit the android. "Can't believe that actually worked..." He mumbled to himself while regaining his composure. He didn't rest long though, dodging backwards to avoid getting hit by Mr. Negative's energy blast.
The retired superhero continued to watch his protege's progress. He couldn't believe he saw Will basically defeat a version of his oldest enemy without taking damage....was he really improving this much???? Was learning that quickly how to adapt to his powers and environment?????? He couldn't imagine it....it was incredible! But he knew this test was only just getting started so far.
Will in the meantime, was flipping around, getting closer to Mr. Negative and fired several impact webs which hit him and knock him out. After that, he grabbed Rhino by his horn and shoved him back, dodging Vulture's strike. He then landed on his back and forced him to crash into Rhino to take them both out together. He then fired webs to create two web lines. One that was connected to Vulture, one connected to Electro's blast which he connected. The electric shock hits both of them to fry both androids at once, and Will took this opportunity to kick Electro in the face, which forced his lightning to go out of control and hit both Sandman and Hydroman at the same time to take them both down.
Parker watched on, seeing that Will had successfully defeated the androids. "Very good. Fast, nimble and efficient...." He said calmly as Will got to the hologram of Mary Jane. With that exercise complete, Will's lenses went back to normal and he could see again. "Now I want you to remember that feeling at all times. To know all those feelings your spider sense gives you."
Will nodded his head calmly while taking a deep breath. "I could.... almost see everything is the best way to describe it......I could see my enemies attacking with it, hear their specific movements, feel them getting closer....and I could see my environment getting effected around me in a way....it's hard to explain.....but it's like....."
"Like your spider sense is stronger than mine and stronger than what you felt before, so you can feel everything more clearly than ever before." Peter finished Will's sentence, having an understanding of what he was saying. "What I want for you to do is get used to that in your daily life too. So that you know this feeling 24/7. It will save your life more than you realize." He advised soon after.
"Yes sir. I'll do my best." He said calmly and respectfully. With that, he knew the two of them were done for the night so they both split off to head to their respective homes. As he did, the curly haired boy decided to get started on what he was instructed to do. This time it didn't take nearly as long. Because he has an understanding of this feeling before, he had learned how to do so a little more naturally. Thankfully it didn't feel like it was too much of a strain, or like he needed to concentrate too much on his spider sense. Just a little, but not so much that he wasn't able to walk properly or anything.
The next morning came and Will woke up, still using his senses even in his sleep, and he knew it. Not an ounce of danger came in his room, and he remembered it. As he walked down to get breakfast, he could feel everything around him, as if he was able to physically see them. It felt.... strange, but enlightening at the same time, like he was one with the world around him. 'I think I'm starting to understand how Daredevil perceives the world with his abilities....I can see so much, all with my senses being this enhanced. It's almost overwhelming, but it doesn't feel so bad...it feels.... safer.' He thought to himself as he ate his eggs calmly.
His entire school day wasn't much different either. Sure he had to dodge many objects, but that was part of the training.....right? Of course he had no difficulty doing that with his reflexes, agility and spider sense. When he first entered the school, his spider sense felt overwhelmed because of how close he was to so many chattering children at once, but as time went on for him, it felt less like he was in an extremely small room with multiple screaming children. In fact, it felt....normal somehow. Especially as the day progressed....it felt comforting in a way.....
He continued this for one more day to be sure he had the hang of this. Sure enough, it felt better than it did the day before. His senses felt like they were on 24/7, even when he wasn't trying and it felt as if he was in control. As soon as he got off school, he immediately went to pick up his siblings and walked them home to be prepared for work. As he stepped up to Parker's doorstep, he looks more determined than before, a strong look planted on his face. "I'm ready this time.....Smythe isn't going to have as easy of a time....." He stated to his mentor.
Peter nodded his head, seeing his determination and confidence. He sees Will get in his suit, staring at the mask. "Just remember, you're not invincible. You'll be better than you were previously though." Parker reminded him.
Will nodded as he puts the mask over his head. "I've got it covered." He said calmly as he slides the mask down, now fully in his Spider-Man suit. "I'll see you when I get back." And with that, he swung off into the city's skies to start his search.
Back with Fisk, he had spent the last two days getting Allistair more prepared for the rematch against the web head. As the capsule opened, it revealed Smythe, now even bigger, stronger and seeming to have bigger weapons than before. "Now, you are more than ready to defeat Spider-Man. With your newest upgrades, you shall be unstoppable." He boasted.
The android male stepped out and headed toward the city, a smirk on his face. "He'll be dead tonight. This i can assure you." He said coldly before leaving, flying off by what appeared to be jet boots. This time, both of them were ready for the other, confident they'd both win....
(Editor's note: took a bit but we're so close to our goal now and I hope it continues on! I also hope you're enjoying so far! :3)
