In the previous chapter, we discussed about Bonjour meaning "Good day." but common textbook translation of "Good morning" is Bonjour as well. It is because we use this to greet people in the morning and all through out the day.
When saying hello to someone at night we use Bonsoir (Bong swa) meaning "Good evening"
Whenever someone intends to retire for the evening or go to sleep for the night we would say Bonne Nuit (Bon Nwee) meaning "Good night"

The literal translation of "Good morning" is Bon Matin (Bong Matang) but this is not applicable in France. This is rarely used as an informal greeting in Quebec.
The literal translation of "Good Afternoon" is Bon Apresmidi (bona pre medi) and this is not applicable in France as well. This is also used as an informal greeting.
Things to Remember
Bon and Bonne both means "Good" but what is the difference?
Bon is for a masculine use while Bonne is for feminine use. Just like Spanish they have Señor and Señora or in the Philippines Gwapo and Gwapa.
The word Nuit is feminine, therefore we use Bonne.
