They were attending just another promotional interview and were tired out of their minds. Another repeat of those same basic questions and silly activities. It felt like people have forgotten that they are not some kids that they would do cutesy stuff all the time.
Ni-ki was bored. First, he was exhausted. Second, he couldn't understand half of what the interviewer was saying. Last, he just couldn't be bothered to pay attention. That's just how he was. He needs to like something to pay attention to it.
"The next segment is 'who is the most...' and all of you have to name one person each..."
Okay, now this was interesting. He likes knowing what they each thought of each other. He was excited now. He was finally having some fun.
"Who pranks others the most?" Dang, everyone's gonna choose him. He just knew it. Let's tease Jay Hyung, he thought and wrote his name.
"Why me? I am a kind person." Jay was irritated. He knew Jay would react like this. His reactions were always funny.
"Who is Jay closest to?" This question made Ni-ki sad for some reason. He knew he wasn't that person. He might have been at one point but he is not anymore. They have drifted apart. Everyone answered Jungwon as expected.
"Who is Ni-ki's favourite hyung?" It was definitely Jay. For God's sake, that man brought him up and made him the person he was today. Everyone wrote their own name except for Jay who wrote Jake.
"It's you hyung."
Everyone started teasing Ni-ki but he was sad. He didn't like the thought that Jay didn't even consider himself. His mood was definitely off now. Luckily it was already evening and he can just excuse his mood for his tiredness and go straight to bed.
It's 1 a.m and he can't sleep. He can't stop thinking about the event that took place at the interview. He decided to go to Jay's room. Thank god for the new dorm that got them their personal rooms.
Jay was sleeping. He went and laid behind him and put an arm around him.
He was lying in silence when Jay asked..
"What happened Ni-ki?"
"How did you know it's me?"
"You are like my kid. I would recognise you anywhere."
"Ohh okay dad."
"Yeah yeah. Now tell me what's bothering you."
"Nothing"
"Is it about the interview?"
"How did you know?"
"Like I said I know everything about you"
"Not everything. You got that question wrong"
"And I apologise for it. I just thought that since you spend so much time with Jake, he would be your favorite. You have similar humour and fashion as well. Or it could be Heeseung. I didn't know it was me."
"Just like you said. I am your kid but i am just their brother and bestfriend. No one can replace you for me. I may tease you a lot but I do it to get your attention."
"I didn't know you were this sweet."
"If you'll spend all your time with Jungwon and Sunoo, you'll never know it."
"You are so petty and cute. You didn't like that question as well."
"The question was fine. Your answer was the problem."
"Hey hey hey kid, i didn't lie. I am the closest to him because he makes me feel appreciated and maybe because he is the leader as well. He is always coming and checking up on me. He is like my little brother. But that wouldn't change the fact that I care the most about you because I raised you up. You make me feel proud and accomplished everyday. I have four little brothers but i just have one kid that is you. So stop being petty and sleep or your parents will scold me for not taking care of you."
"Please, they love you more than me"
"And I wonder why"
"Shut up"
"You too, go to sleep now. Goodnight"
"Goodnight hyung"
After few minutes, Jay turns around and see Ni-ki sleeping. He softly smiles and pats his head.
"You are still the same. Don't ever grow up. I love you kid"
As Jay falls asleep Ni-ki opens his eyes and smiles
"I love you too hyung. You are the best"
Next morning, let's just say every member was surprised by the sight before them. Jay was sleeping in and had a little company all cuddled up to him. They all just smile and take pictures. They are definitely teasing them both when they wake up.
