I was guessing we weren't going anywhere fancy since Michael didn't take us home to change. I sat back in my seat and look out the window. It wasn't dark out yet. I looked back at Michael.
"Can we get a dog, Mikey? I've always wanted a dog."
He kept his eyes on the road, "Sure why not."
I smiled. I wanted to get a really big dog, they're the best kind. Michael would probably want a smaller one though. We talked about work and such until we pulled into the parking lot. The restaurant wasn't fancy and the name doesn't come to mind. One of the waiters sat us at a booth in the middle of the room. He gave us menus and silverware then left to tend to another table. I opened my menu and immediately spotted what I wanted. A bacon cheeseburger. Michael ordered one of their newest items, I don't remember what it was. We ordered and waited for our meal.
"Do you think anyone will recognize us?" I remembered the time Gavin and I went out somewhere and got tackled by fans.
"Probably not."
I leaned back and looked around the room. I spotted a table on the other side of the building. Two teenage girls, one of the girls was blonde and had Achievement Hunter bracelets covering her left arm. The other girl had no bracelets. I thought about how we still haven't told any of our fans that we were married. When I told them in a video that Michael asked me out, some didn't take it too well. I didn't take those girls to be the type to jump at us so I continued to talk to Michael.
"Can we get a big dog? Like a really big one?" I asked Michael.
"If we do, it'll break all our expensive shit."
"Michaellllll~. Come on! It won't break anything. Pleaseeee~?" I made a pouty face, making him sigh.
"Fine, but if it breaks anything you're going to clean it up."
I smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. Just a few minutes later, we got out food. After we finished, Michael took out his wallet and gave the waiter the bill, along with the money. We stood up to leave, but were confronted by the teenagers I saw earlier. The blonde one seemed nervous and the other seemed slightly annoyed. I smiled at them and the blonde girl smiled back. Her friend spoke up for her.
"Sorry about Katie, she's shy." Her friend lightly hit her shoulder, but she continued to speak. "She wants to know if you guys will take a picture with her?"
I looked at Michael and he seemed mad, but I said yes anyways. Katie's friend took out her phone and Katie stood beside me. I put and arm around her and smiled. I could feel Michael put an arm around my waist. After the girl took the picture, Katie turned to look at us.
"Are you guys married now?" She seemed slightly disappointed.
"Hell yeah we are." Michael said.
I smiled at him and looked at the girl. She just mouthed 'oh' and the girls went back to the table. I intertwined my hand with Michael's and we went back to our car. I shut my door and put on my seatbelt. Michael started up the car.
"Michael. She was clearly pissed at us."
"We didn't do anything wrong, Nags. She's just being a bitch."
"Don't call her a bitch! She's just a teenager!" I lightly slapped his arm.
"Do you want to head over to the shelter? It doesn't close until 10." He looked over at me.
I nodded, maybe getting a dog will get my mind off this. The ride to the shelter was quiet. We pulled into the shelter just at about 7:30. I walked in, my hand in Michael's, and was immediately happy. We walked up to the front desk and asked to look around. The lady let us through to the puppy area. I looked around with Michael and stopped at one of the pins. Michael didn't know I stopped and accidentally jerked my arm forwards when he couldn't walk anymore.
He came beside me and we looked at the puppy in the pin. It was a red-orangey color and was said to get to be big. It was a girl and her name was Cherry. I bent down and stuck my hand in and Cherry came prancing over and licking my hand. I looked up at Michael and he knew what I was thinking. He called one of the workers over and they had us fill out paperwork. The lady from the front desk came over with a box of all the things we would need, dog food, pee pads to train with, a leash, bowls for food and water, and a dog bed.
Michael took the box and I picked up Cherry. He put the box in the back and I brought Cherry to the front with me. This time on our way home, it wasn't quiet. It was filled with talk, tiny barks, and laughs. I looked over at Michael.
"Can we bring her to work tomorrow? Everyone else brings their pets." I asked, petting Cherry who was now asleep in my lap.
Michael shrugged, "I don't see why not. They can't fire us for bringing a puppy right?"
I nodded. Michael pulled into the driveway and we brought Cherry and her things into the house. Michael put the puppy bed and pee pads in our bedroom on my command. I laid Cherry in the dog bed and put on some more comfortable clothes. It was around 9:30 so I decided to go to sleep. Michael laid down beside me and put his arm around me. We fell asleep just moments later.
