A h a d’ s P O V:
I nuzzled my face into the soft pillow and let out a contented sigh.
“Uggh, Ahad, hateinnn bhains kahin ke”
I frowned and lifted my head up to look at my wife struggling to get rid of my hold on her waist. I smirked and tightened my hold on her waist and went back to sleeping on her chest.
I heard her sigh and she eventually gave up.
“Aapne mujhe kyu nahi bulaya lunch pe?” Not being able to keep it to myself, I questioned her. She smiled at me and leant forward to kiss my cheek.
I could practically feel my ears turning hot and blood rushing to my neck and cheeks.
“Kyunki mujhe laga aap busy honge” I frowned and shook my head at her reply.
“I'm never busy for you, baby” I said softly and looked at her cheeks turning red.
“It's time-” Before she could complete her sentence, the door burst open and I saw Yusuf standing there with a rolling pin in his hand.
“You-” He pointed his rolling pin at me and continued “-stay away from my sister!” He yelled and walked towards us.
I sat up straight and pulled Safira onto my lap, looking straight into his eyes.
“She's my wife, so no, I won't stay away from her” I yelled back and he glared at me harder.
“Ahad, kya kar rahein hain aap, chodein mujhe” Safira whispered to me and tried to wriggle herself but I kept my hold stern on her.
“How did you even come here? Who let you in?”
Koi iss aadmi ko bolega ki chill’lana band kare?
“I let myself in,” I said back.
We argued back and forth until Safira yelled at us and walked away saying how childish we are.
It was Yusuf's fault. Who told him to come barging in anyway?

After 4 days:
My wife is so precious to me. Very precious actually. I can do anything and everything to keep her happy and keep her with me.
Ever since I found out that she only and solely collects pictures of the people who are close to her, I wish to be one of those close persons.
I've been so eagerly waiting for her to take our pictures together. Call me silly but all I wish for is to consider me as her own.
I've already surrendered myself to her the moment I realised I loved her.
I've been hers all the time and she isn't even aware of it.
I grinned to myself as I scribbled on the blank page kept on my table.
A sudden knock on the door startled me and I flinched.
I came out of my dream land and cleared my throat before letting the person in.
It was my secretary.
“Yes, Mr. Kabir?”
“Sir, the boardroom is prepared for your meeting with Bluestone Projects. They’re expecting you to discuss the upcoming collaboration proposal.”
Oh, the meeting. I completely forgot about it.
I gave him a nod and straightened up from my desk, my posture shifting to one of composed authority. I smoothed out my coat with a practised motion, ensuring it looked perfect.
I walked into the boardroom, feeling the weight of responsibility in every step.
The room was neatly arranged, the polished wood of the table reflecting the light from the overhead fixtures.
Seated across from me were representatives from Bluestone Projects, a company renowned for its innovative approach to urban development.
I took my seat at the head of the table, ready to delve into what promised to be a significant discussion.
As I settled in, my thoughts wandered momentarily. Safira’s image flashed in my mind—her smile, her laughter, the way she could make everything feel right even on the busiest days.
I had to suppress a smile, reminding myself to stay focused.“Thank you for joining us,” I said, my voice steady despite the distracting warmth in my chest. “Let’s begin.”
The representative from Bluestone Projects, a sharp and confident woman named Elena Mitchell, cleared her throat.
“Mr. Rahal, we’ve been impressed by your company’s recent developments and believe there’s a strong synergy between our goals. Bluestone Projects is excited about the possibility of collaborating with Rahal Estates & Co. on future urban projects.”
I nodded, intrigued. “I’ve looked over your initial proposal. Let’s explore how we can integrate your innovative designs with our real estate ventures.”
Ms. Mitchell outlined their vision—modern, sustainable urban spaces that could transform city landscapes. She spoke about cutting-edge designs and smart city technologies that Bluestone Projects was known for. Her passion for the project was evident, and it was clear that their expertise could greatly complement our goals
As the meeting ended, I found myself thinking about my wife, my distraction. I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of her, even as I wrapped up the discussion with Ms. Mitchell and her team.
I shook my head. Pagal kar rakha hai uss ladki ne mujhe.

“Ahad, bachaein mujhe, please”My heart raced as I saw her—Safira, my Safira—chained, bloodied, and desperate.
She was just out of reach, her eyes wide with terror, pleading with me to save her. "Ahad, please! Help me!" Her voice trembled, thick with fear, as she struggled against the chains that held her.
I ran towards her, but the ground beneath my feet felt like quicksand, slowing my every step. "I'm coming, Safira! Hold on!"
I shouted, my voice hoarse with desperation. But no matter how hard I tried, she seemed to drift further away.
Suddenly, her voice echoed from the other side. I spun around to see her there, the same chains, the same pleading eyes, as if she was in every direction at once. "Please, Ahad... Don't leave me."
I sprinted towards her, but with every step, a piece of her seemed to break away—a drop of blood, a gasp of pain, a tear sliding down her cheek. She called out to me from every corner, each version of her more desperate than the last."Ahad, please... save me!"
Her cries tore at my heart, but the closer I got, the more impossible it became to reach her. The chains tightened, digging into her skin, and I could see the agony on her face.
I wanted to tear those chains apart, to free her from this nightmare, but the chaos around us was overwhelming.
Suddenly, a shot rang out, and I froze. Her body crumpled, her blood staining the ground as she fell limp in my arms.
No no no this can't be happening, I can't lose her. I'll die if something happens to her.
"No... Safira, no!" I screamed, holding her close, my hands shaking as I tried to stop the bleeding. But it was too late. .“I think I..it's time I go, take c..care of yourself, don't f.. forget me” she whispered as her eyes fluttered shut, and I felt her slip away, leaving me hollow and broken
NO!
I jolted awake, my heart racing with fear. My forehead layered with a thick layer of sweat. I looked beside me, only wanting to see Safira. But when she wasn't there, my heart raced yet again.
No, did she leave me alone? Where did she go?
My hands trembled as I picked up my phone. My limbs trembled as I threw the quilt away and stood up from the ground.
My heart was racing with fear. After trying for 3 times, she finally picked the call up.
“Hello?” Her voice came, “S..safira” I uttered, my mind racing with thoughts.
“Ahad, kya hua? Theek ho aap?” Her voice became louder and I shook my head.
“Ahad, mujhe chinta ho rahi hai, kuch toh bolen” She said, her voice laced with panic.
“S..safira, I'm scared” I managed to say, my mind repeating the events that took place in my nightmare.
“shh, it's all okay, I'm here with you, calm down, ok? I'll come to you, please don't be scared” She said and I nodded. I just want to see her, feel her.
I kept the phone away and closed my eyes.
…
Just as I thought of opening my eyes and standing up, two hands wrapped around me.
I immediately figured it was Safira by the sweet smell of strawberry and musk lingering in the air.
I opened my eyes and wrapped my arms around her and pulled her onto my lap, burying my face in her neck.
“Shh, kuch nahi hua, such nahi hua” I closed my eyes and tightened my hold on her, fearing that she would slip away if I loosened my hold.
Just like she did in that nightmare.
“I saw a n.. nightmare”
“What was it about?” She softly spoke as she caressed my hair all the while.
“You..you got shot, I was so scared”
“It's okay, it was just a nightmare, I'm fine” I nodded my head.
“You'll never leave me right?”
“I won't, now, let's go sleep on the bed?” I nodded and stood up with her in my arms and slowly placed her down on the bed.
I, too, got in the bed and held her hand, pulling her to my chest. “I'm sorry for troubling you, it's just..I was panicked and I just wanted to see you, did you come here alone? Ya Allah, I'm the worst husband who let his wife come to him in the middle of the night, I'm sorry, baby”
She pulled my cheeks and hugged me. “aww, you're so cute, and no I was not troubled, and no, you're not the worst husband, in fact you're the husband every one desires for” She said and hugged me tighter.
I sighed and held her close to me as I peacefully slept after 4 sleepless nights.
