I groaned and lay back into Logan’s bed. It was just stupid of me to even think twice about his little ‘assignment.’ He had just said it to make me feel uncomfortable. I was sure of it. Not to mention he was deflecting my original question. Why did he do drugs?

Sure, he’d said they felt good. But there had to be more to it. Right? I mean, that couldn’t be the only reason. Something traumatic must have happened to him to make him turn to such drastic means of escaping reality. But what could it be?

The door swung open with a loud whoosh from the force behind it. It slammed against the wall, no doubt leaving a mark where the doorknob was, and rebounded back towards the frame. Before it could make any more noise Logan stuck his hand out forcing it to a stop. A second later his frame filled the doorway as he peered towards me. His blue eyes landed on me, taking in my laying frame.

For a few moments I watched him take me in. His eyes flickered over all of me before finally turning to my face. “Hey,” he started, brushing his wet hair from his eyes as he strode into the room, “I gave you an assignment.” He stopped, eyes narrowed on me as he crooked his head. “Why aren’t you doing it?”

I rolled my eyes as I sat back up on the bed. “I’d never accept you as a mentor,” I scoffed.

He shook his head, heaving an overdramatic sigh. “This is exactly why you’ve ended up how you have,” he responded. With a little smirk he stepped closer towards the bed. “So misguided,” his voice came out soft and almost whistful as he closed the gap between us. My breath stuck in my lungs as he stepped up and bent towards me, his arm outstretched as he reached towards me. “So inexpierenced,” he added in a gentle whisper.

I hesitated, my eyes locked in his, as I tried to process what he was saying. I was so caught up in the proximity of our bodies and his fingers brushing my cheek. It was then that I realized it; he was mocking me. “Oh bite me,” I muttered, reaching up to push his hand away.

“Gladly,” he shot back, leaning forward so quickly I couldn’t help but flinch and inch backwards in surprise.

This caused his smirk to grow and my grimace to as well. “You’re obnoxious,” I muttered looking away.

“That may be so,” he responded, obviously amused by my response as he leaned in closer, setting his hands on the edge of the bed as I scooted away from him until my back pressed against the headboard, “but you love me for it.”

“Love is an extremely strong word,” I responded, rolling my eyes as my heartbeat picked up. “Heck, even like would be-“

“You look cute,” he interrupted, lifting his knee up on the bed as he shifted closer yet.

This time my stomach did a little flip as I blinked in surprise. “You’re impossible, you know that?” I asked, trying to move the conversation elsewhere. Attention being on me wasn’t so bad in itself. But throw in Logan being shirtless and currently crawling across the bed on his hands and knees toward me and even the most outgoing girl would cease up.

“I like you in my clothes. They do you justice,” he breathed, a coy smile playing his lips as he realized I’d frozen stiff. With my knees to my chest, my arms wrapped around them holding them as if they were about to jump off and run away, I’d cornered myself against the headboard and the wall.

My eyes flashed to his broad muscular chest as he stopped just a few inches away from me, his hands on the bed on either side of my legs, his face hovering over my knees as he stared me in the eyes. I instantly regretted meeting his eyes. They shone so intensely that I thought I could die of embarrassment. “I think I should change now,” I muttered looking away.

Logan shook his head. “Not unless I’m helping,” he mused, obviously enjoying my nervousness.

“You know uh-“ I muttered, my cheeks flushing deep red. I didn’t get to finish my thought though. Logan reached out and cupped my chin as he turned my head so I was forced to face him.

“I saw your lips moving but didn’t hear anything,” he teased, “come again?”

I was saved the embarrassment of trying to form a coherent sentence as a voice cut through the air. “Hey uh, you done with the shower?”

Logan never broke eye contact with me as he nodded. “It’s all yours bro.”

For me the spell had been broken and I peered around Logan to see Maver. Thankfully he was wearing clothes this time. “Have a dirty night?” I teased, a little smile crossing my lips. The sight of my best friend had definitely relaxed me.

The sight of me had the opposite effect on Maver however. His eyes went wide, blinking a few times as he took me in. “Kara?” he asked, bewildered. It wasn’t until his eyes turned to Logan and narrowed as he said, “What the fuck is going on here?” that I noticed the problem.

I was on Logan’s bed, in his clothes, looking like I’d just woken up. . . and Logan was on his hands and knees a short distance from me.

Instantly I realized what it must have looked like. “Oh nothing,” I gushed with a fake smile, setting my hands on Logan’s shoulders as I pushed off of him. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, doing my best to ignore Logan’s peeved look. “Just couldn’t stay in your room since you were having a sleepover and this was the only other option.” I set my feet on the ground and got to them as quickly as possible. “Speaking of which, who was that?”

Changing the subject worked well enough, though Maver’s eyes stayed skeptical as I walked up to him and out the door. It was best I get away from Logan anyways. The way he messed with my head just didn’t make sense. No one could make me as nervous as he did. Or maybe it was just his approach. His no hesitation strictly bold Logan approach.

“That was the girl I was talking about,” he responded, tailing me closely as he followed me towards his bedroom. “Hey, why are you in my brother’s clothes?”

“I needed something to sleep in,” I responded nonchalantly before changing topics. “So that’s the girl? The one you weren’t sure if she liked you?” I asked, pushing through his door into his bedroom. “Seems like you got your answer.”

He shrugged, watching me closely as I sat on the edge of his futon and pulled my bag of clothes out from under them. “Yeah, guess so,” he answered with a shrug. For a moment he stayed quite as he watched me search through my clothes. I tried to find something but it was too hard to think with his eyes on me so intently. “I didn’t think you were coming over last night.”

I avoided his eyes as best I could. “You invited me,” I flat out lied, picking up the brown tanktop for the fifth time without even realizing it, “must have forgotten.”

Maver stood in the doorway silently. I didn’t dare look up to him. I was worried what his expression would be. Did he suspect something? Nothing happened. So I spent a night with his brother, big deal? It’s not like we did anything. I mean sure, he forced me into cuddling with him, but that was it. It’s not like I felt anything for the jerk.

“I do that a lot, don’t I?” he asked, finally breaking the silence. “Forget things I mean.” I looked to him, confused by his tone of voice. Maver stood, scratching his head as he looked away , now the guilty one. “We’ll hang out, just you and me today, all right?”

A wave of guilt me as I nodded. Sure, he’d backed out on me a few times the last week alone, but now wasn’t one of them. Telling him that would mean explaining myself however. Explaining last night would have been as difficult to explain as it was for me to understand. I didn’t even know what exactly I’d let happen. So instead I gave a little nod. “Sounds like a great idea Maver.”

His smile met mine as he nodded in agreement. “All right, cool. Well I’m taking a shower.”

“Good idea,” I smiled brighter, “I’ll be here when you get out.”

“Better be,” he shot back before closing the door behind him.

I waited a few moments before looking down to the clothes I’d been holding. A bra and a sock. Just great Kara, that’ll get you far.  I shook my head with a little sigh. Even when Logan wasn’t around he was determined to get me into trouble it seemed like.

I set some more clothes on the bed and laid back, glancing behind me to make sure it was clean even after Maver’s escapades last night first. With a shimmy I pulled myself out of Logan’s boxers. For a moment I stared down at them before tossing them across the room. I didn’t need to think about last night. He’d only cuddled me to get a rise out of me. That was it.

Before I could help it my eyes drifted down to my empty hands. Was it really that weird I’d never had an orgasm? I bit my lip nervously, looking back up towards the door. Maver was taking a shower. I had a little time on my hands.

Closing my eyes I reached down, taking a deep breath. It couldn’t be that hard. People did it every day after all. All I had to do was rub and I’d be fine. Easy peasy. No one had to know.

Even as I coaxed myself along in my head, my hand rubbing up and down on myself, I couldn’t help but feel nervous. Just what was I doing? I definitely wasn’t going to tell Logan even if I did manage to give myself one. Which I totally could. I mean, it couldn’t be that hard right?

Again my mind ran over the same thoughts as my hand moved. Sure, it felt good, but not good enough.

“Kara?”

My eyes snapped to the door, my heart jumping from my chest and nearly flying across the room. There in the doorway was Maver; topless and wide eyed. “Maver!” I exclaimed, sitting up as I pulled the sheet up over my lap. For a second there I’d been scared it’d been his brother. “I thought you were taking a shower?”

He nodded, looking more embarrassed than I was as he closed the door behind him and stepped into the room. “I forgot to grab clean clothes,” he muttered, crossing the floor to his drawers. He turned his back to me, searching through them for something to wear.

I lay back down on the bed, placing a hand over my heart. It’d been much too close of a call. Had that been Logan I would have died. But Maver. . . Maver was my best friend. We’d laugh about this later.

“So, uh,” Maver’s hesitating voice came from across the room. I looked back to him as he stayed stock still by his dresser. “What were you just doing?”

I blushed a little rolling my eyes to fight off embarrassment. “Nothing. Just, having some alone time, you know?” I responded. I’d caught Maver doing it plenty of times. It shouldn’t be this embarrassing.

He turned to look at me, holding a pair of clothes in his hand. “I didn’t know you did that kind of stuff.”

“Well sure,” I responded with a little shrug, “everyone does it, right?” I closed my eyes and remained as calm as possible on the outside. On the inside my heartbeat had jumped. Maybe it was weird? I shouldn’t have done it. Oh god, what would he think of me now? I’m such a perv! It’s all Logan’s fault! I’d only done it because of him.

“Didn’t sound like you were having much fun,” Maver’s voice came, closer than before.

I looked up, surprised to see he was standing at the edge of the futon looking down at me. My cheeks heated a little at the truth behind the accusation. I was a failure. I could never make myself orgasm. Logan was right again. “Well, I wasn’t,” I answered with another little shrug. “But I don’t care.”

He looked down at me before making a little gesture with his hand to scoot over.  I, of course, obeyed. I moved over a foot or so, watching as he sat on the bed beside me. “Why not?”

“I wasn’t really into it,” I responded, pulling the blanket further up my chest. “Just messing around.”

“You were doing it wrong.”

My eyes snapped to him so fast I was surprised I didn’t burst a blood vessel. “What?”

He took a  little breath before answering. “Well, you were going like this,” he set his hand on my arm and rubbed up and down like I had been.

“So?”

“It works better like this,” he answered, moving his hand instead in small little circles.

I blushed as I realized that I was getting masturbation advice from my best friend. “Oh, okay.”

He nodded a little before meeting my eyes. “Try it.”

“What?” I asked, wondering if I’ heard him wrong. He couldn’t mean-

“You won’t be able to do it alone if you don’t know how to do it.” I opened my mouth to object but he held my gaze captive. “Just do it. I’ve already seen you naked how many times? You can do it under the blanket.”

For a second I hesitated before reaching under the sheet to myself. I don’t know what made me do it. Something about being around Logan had made me more ballsy. But it was more than that. Maver was right. He’d been with me since we were little. We didn’t have any privacy before, why should we now? It was just one little thing. I’d rather have his advice than Logan’s anyways.

I started to rub, closing my eyes out of nervousness. I can’t believe I’m doing this. I can’t believe I’m doing this. I can’t-

“No, like this.”

My eyes darted open as the feeling of Maver’s hand on me made my breath freeze in my lungs. I couldn’t even speak as my eyes traveled up his arm to his face in surprise. Never in a million years would I have expected this from him of all people. But he didn’t meet my eyes. His were focused on his hand which was under the blanket rubbing on me.

I meant to object but instead a surprised moan came out. It actually felt good, I realized as I blushed furiously and covered my mouth. It wasn’t like when I did it. This was different. He way his fingers moved was almost like magic as my nerves woke up.

I moaned again and before I knew it my eyes were closed and I was breathing heavier and heavier. Tingles shot through my body as I began to heat up. I hadn’t felt this before, not like this.

Maver’s hand picked up pace as he shifted beside me, laying alongside me now, His hand remained under the covers as he did his thing. I couldn’t even stop him. I didn’t want to. It felt too good.

I moaned gently as my breaths came in pants and I squirmed a little in pleasure. It was a new sensation to me and I couldn’t seem to snap free from it. Why had I never tried this before?

My hair fell over my closed eyes and Maver quickly moved it aside with his free hand. His face nozzled up against my ear flooding it with warm air. He was breathing just as heavily as I was now. I moaned rhythmically soft and quick as he continued to work. He rubbed in all the right spaces, his fingers doing little circles with just the right amount of firmness. I could feel it coming now. I could feel the warm pressure building in me.

Maver could sense it too from my muscles tightening and releasing and he picked up his pace, his breaths coming heavier as he breathed huskily into my ear. It only aroused me more and I couldn’t stop my voice from growing louder.

Before I could get close it was all ruined with a jolt as the door opened quickly and “I knew you-“ filled the air. Logan’s voic cut off as quickly as it started. Both Maver and I had sat up, eyes wide in surprise at his sudden outburst. “I thought you were showering,” Logan muttered, grabbing the doorknob, “my bad.”

He closed it, leaving as quickly as he’d come.
