"You could still change your mind you know?"vivienne sat on her bed as she watched leah get dressed for her date
"Why are you so against this?"
"I just don't want you to get hurt"
"I am a big girl v "leah said and vivienne fell silent.leah turned to look at her"buuutt. ..If you don't want me to go that bad , I could stay" leah said sitting on the bed
"No you should go....you look really pretty by the way"
"Thanks"leah smiled.she wore a blue dress that was just above her knee, a white cotton cover up and flats. She did a twirl for vivienne then winked which made vivienne smile more.
"So where is he?"
"Should be in his room or something. I don't know" leah played with her bracelets.they heard the door bell
"I'll go answer that "vivienne ran downstairs few seconds later she called for leah
"What is it? "Leah came down the stairs and went to stand by vivienne's side by the door .Ashton was by the door holding flowers "what are you doing?"she laughed
"We kind of live together but I still wanted to make it traditional by coming to your doorstep"
"How sweet"she stretched out her hands and he gave her the flowers" they are beautiful" she sniffed them
"Shall we?" He asked
"Yeah" she handed vivienne the flower , held his arm and walked outside with him.
They drove to a diner for their date, now they had taken their seat and they were ready to order.
"You look really beautiful"he commented
"Thanks "she smiled"you clean up pretty nicely too"she touched his beards .she was so obsessed with it and he chuckled at the light touch.
"So what would you like to eat?"he stared at his menu
"They all look really great" she smiled "this place is really great"
"Their food is amazing.my friends and I come here to hang out most of the time"
"Which means you are familiar with their food?"she closed her menu
"Yeah"
"Then order for me"she smiled
"Okay"he smirked.before he could signal for a waitress to come two already rushed to his side.
"Hey Ashton"they both flipped their hair and bat their lashes , trying to out do each other.
"Hey girls"he smiled at them "we would like today's special"
"We?"they both chorused then they turned and finally saw leah like she was invisible all along "oh"they rolled their eyes before walking away
"They are really friendly"she said to him and he chuckled
"So tell me about yourself leah"
"Um there is not much to tell, I don't have much friends because I change schools a lot, um my mom died some years back so it's only my dad and I....and my sister, but she left a long time ago"
"Why?"
"My dad isn't exactly an attentive father so I guess she got tired of his lack of ...love, attention, care...so she went away to go find someone who would give her those things"
"And did she find it?"
"Uh yeah" she gave a half smile she is getting married pretty soon.i am not invited but she can finally get the family she always wanted"
"What about you?"
"What about me?"
"When are you going to get the family you deserve? "
"I ask myself that everyday"she faked a smile
"Are you ever going to to do what your sister did?"
"I don't know for sure.i guess if I ever find someone that wants me, maybe that would happen.but for now my dad is the only one I have so I have to hold on to him" she was beginning to feel uncomfortable with the topic so she decided to change it "so what are you studying right now?"
"Computer engineering and software programming"
"Wow.why 2"
"I co-authored the book they use in the computer engineering department so there really isn't much that I am learning"
"I bet it would have been different in Mit"
"it would have....I am actually thinking about reapplying for Mit"
"Really?"
"Yeah. .but i haven't really told anyone about it yet.you are the first person I am telling"
"I think it would be really good if you go there .your worries make sense but when you get there you'll figure it all out.no need to put your life on hold because of problems that havn't come up yet" the bell at the door rung signalling someone had just entered the diner
"That actually...."
"......Ashton! !"a girl yelled.she ran towards him escorted by some group of people, she was about to kiss him but he was fast enough and immediately avoided it.a boy behind missy dragged her away from Ashton like it was a normal thing
"Hey man"the tall cute guy that held missy back said to Ashton
"Hey" Ashton smiled back "this is leah" he introduced
"Leah this is my very good friend adam"
"Hi, nice to meet you" leah smiled up at him.
"So what's your major?"
"Actually I ...."
"She is a psychology student" Ashton cut in
"Nice" adam smiled "anyway let me leave you two.missy is getting frisky.bye guys" adam walked away and just as he did the waitress brought their meals
" enjoy" she smiled at Ashton before walking away
"Psych major huh?"
"I didn't. ..what are you doing? "He asked her when she started picking up her purse "whoa leah, hold on" he held her back "what's wrong?"
"You are on a date with leah the psych student so let leah the high school student get out of your way" she stood up
"Don't be upset.i am sorry"
"Don't be upset?"she hit his hand away" you are embarrassed to be seen with me"
"No I am not"
"Take me home Ashton" she walked out of the diner .He quickly placed the money on the table and ran out to meet her.
"leah please" he held her back
"Psych student? Really? You might as well have said 'you are too young for me leah"
"That's the thing you aren't too young for me"
"I just want to go home.i am tired" she took her hand away from his grip. The drive home was quiet he kept trying to talk to her but she just ignored him, immediately he parked she got down from the car and ran into the house.
"Leah hold up"he ran after her
"Do you know how embarrassing what you did there was"
"I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I just..."
"You never mean to do it Ashton but you always do"
"You are right, it's kind of new for me being with you because you are like my sister-eww that came out wrong..."
"Vivienne was right you are an ass"
"Vivienne? I thought we agreed not to involve vivienne in our business "
"No,You said that I never agreed. incase you haven't noticed she is my best friend"
"Leah.."
"Leave her alone Ashton" vivienne said from the top of the stairs" come on leah" she called on leah and leah ran up the stairs to meet her.
"This night was a disaster"leah said to vivienne but ashton still heard it.
