The suite was just a straight journey up from the dorm rooms. There was an announcement for the whole academy to report upstairs in case anyone missed it. My only focus was to retrieve any information I could from the Principle’s room. It was easy, right? Stealth was definitely not an Arien thing. We were the ones that would just head right in to the battle. I took the elevator as quickly as I could.
When I entered the suite I couldn’t help but drop my mouth at how different it was from the dorms. Everything was so surreal.
Of course though, it was a formal party. There were some instrumentals going on in the background and the room was lighted up in a yellow tint.
“Alek Carter, son of Adrian Carter?”
“Mr. Frederick! It is nice to meet you.” I shook the principle’s hand firmly and looked at his eyes. It certainly was a pleasure to meet the person who oversaw all my studies and training, but I was not going to get friendly at a time like this.
“I heard that your father has come back from his little exploration. Did you get to see him before his little visit with the 2nd Commander?” For now, it was better that I just let the time pass. I would need more people to come to cover me anyways.
“Indeed, it was a happy reunion.” I tried to remember how to carry myself as being older. There certainly were the looks to already fake my actual age.
“I bet it was Mr. Carter, excuse me now, I have to attend to the other guests.” The principle just fled away into a brewing crowd coming out from the elevator. I had to locate the main office of the Military Academy. The hallways took me past the bar, the bathroom, the guest rooms, his bedroom, and the kitchen, but I did not find any office. Where could it possibly be?
“Mr. Carter?” What now? Oh! It’s the principle. Has he become suspicious…? “You seem to be very off and fidgety, is everything ok?” I could tell I was just about to stutter, so I calmed myself down and waited for a second.
“Oh, I was just trying to find the bathroom. Perhaps you can tell me where it is?” I already knew where it is.
“Yes, just down the hallway.” Somehow, I felt like he was trying to look through my head. It was obvious he was becoming suspicious of my constant moving around. I turned around and entered the bathroom. It was quite small, but I noticed something peculiar at the bottom of the floor. It was a very small Arien symbol that matched the one I painted on my own face. Curiously, I stepped on it.
The wall in front of me flew out of sight and in front of me all I could see were stairs that led down. Was this it?
