"Give it to me!" The troll exclaimed about to swing his sword. "Back off!" She exclaimed slamming her fist into the troll's face and knocking him back. "Inu" Kazuki said in surprise. The other men behind him ran away. "You idiot why did you run off?" Inu snapped, Kazuki was about to answer when the troll stood up again. A horrible smell hit their nose "Ew what is that smell?" Kazuki said. Inu covered her nose with the sleeve of her kimono. Suddenly a three eyed crow poked it's head through the troll's chest. "So gross" Kazuki said gagging. "I bet that bird ate that man's heart out and made himself a nest" Inu said. She sharpened her claws "they are not so tough... but they are sure as hell are nasty!" Inu exclaimed charging to it and punching the demon bird out of the man's chest.
The bird flew out of the bandit's hideout. Inu shook the blood off her hands and walked to Kazuki "where's the jewel?" Inu asked "uh... jewel?" Kazuki said "tell you did not just say that" Inu snapped. "Look I had no other choice..." "what do you mean?" Inu snapped "I threw it outside" Kazuki said. "You threw it out..." They heard the caw of the demon crow outside. They both ran to the window. "You idiot! Why would you throw it out" Inu snapped glaring at her. The demon bird flew off. "Don't sit here whining about it. Let's go then" Kazuki snapped. As they rushed of the hideout.
They ran after the bird until they came upon a campground. Most likely one that the bandits had used. There were horses left there but what caught Inu's eye was the bow and arrows. If this guy really was Kaoru's reincarnation then he would be able to shoot those arrows. "Can you use those arrows?" Inu asked suddenly. The blinked and shrugged "I have never tried before..." "it doesn't matter. I may not be able to get to the damn bird in time but if you can shoot it we can stop it from swallowing the jewel" Inu said. Kazuki snapped as he grabbed the bow and arrows. "I will try" Kazuki said. Inu waited "get on my back" she said. "Uhh... shouldn't it be the other way around..." "I'm way faster than you and stronger" Inu snapped. Kazuki hesitated "would you come on" Inu snapped. Kazuki nodded and got on her back. This was really weird.
"Kaoru was a master archer" Inu said as they followed after the bird. "Uhh... I don't know about this" Kazuki said. "If we don't stop that thing it will go to the village and feed on human flesh" Inu said. Kazuki didn't like the sound of that. "Alright I'll do it" Kazuki said. Give me your strength Kaoru. Kazuki snapped as he pointed the arrow at the bird. He let go of the bow string and watched the arrow fly towards the bird. However the arrow did no such thing. "Crap, I'll try again" Kazuki said shooting another arrow. Once again it did not make it to the bird. Third times the charm. Kazuki thought as he aimed one more arrow at the bird and again it did not make it. "Aww come on!" Inu exclaimed she stopped and threw Kazuki off of her back. "Hey..." "I don't care what anyone says you are not Kaoru you go that!" Inu exclaimed angrily pointing at him. "You were the one that said Kaoru was a master archer!" Kazuki exclaimed angrily. "Grrr! He was it's you that is the clutz" Inu snapped. "I'm going on head" Inu snapped as she hopped after the bird.
"Why that stupid little brat... dog... whatever" Kazuki grumbled as he walked after her. Suddenly Kazuki heard a distant scream. It sounded like a child. Kazuki quickly ran towards it. It lead him to a river where he saw a little boy being carried away by the demon bird and Inu chasing after it. "Save the boy!" Kazuki exclaimed out of breath.
Inu looked back in surprise but nodded anyway. "Iron Reaven Soul Stealer!" Inu exclaimed as she cut off the bird's foot in the process causing the little boy to fall into the water. "Ahhh!" He exclaimed.
Kazuki quickly took off his shoes and socks and dived into the water after the little boy. "A demon is saying the boy!" One of the villagers watching exclaimed. "Wow look how fast he is!" Another one exclaimed. Kazuki grabbed the little boy and began to swim back. "What a water demon!" another villager exclaimed."And they call us immature" Kazuki said as they came to shore. "Oh thank you!" the mother said as the little boy ran to his mother. Kazuki straightened "no problem" Kazuki said.
"Hey! Get the jewel stupid!" Inu shouted out. Kazuki turned to him with a cold glare and then turned back to the villagers. "Why you..." she growled. They heard the caw of crow.
"Ahh!" The little boy screamed the crow's foot was trying to get back to the crow. Kazuki had an idea then. He turned to see a man holding a bow and arrow. "Hey can I borrow your bow and arrow?" He asked the man "sure" he said. "It's not like he's going to hit it" Inu grumbled. Kazuki tied the foot to the arrow and aimed it at the crow. The foot couldn't help but be drawn by the jewel that's why he knew it would hit him. Kazuki released the arrow and just as he thought the arrow pierced through the demon crow. Suddenly there was a huge ray of blinding light.
A few minutes later...
"I think I saw it fall over here" Kazuki called out. He sensed the jewel was close by. He walked over to a few bushes "where is it?" Inu snapped. Kazuki reached out and picked up the small fragment. He blinked at it and then realized that it was indeed part of the Sacred Jewel. "It's piece of the jewel" he said. "W...W...WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!" Inu exclaimed angrily.
Later on they met up with Kyoka. "What did YOU do to it?" Inu snapped. "Stop barking Inu" Kyoka said calmly. "Leave it to him to wind up breaking it" Inu snapped. "It wasn't Kazuki that broke the jewel rather it was the foot the arrow was attached to Kazuki's arrow." Kyoka said as he poked the fire. "But either way, now that the jewel is shattered you or Kazuki must come together to find the other shards" Kyoka said. "You don't gotta tell me twice. I'm one of those people you don't want with the jewel" Inu said. Huh! No! He wanted to go back home.
