"I don't know Jason, we've built a life here." I hear my mum sigh.
"Look, maybe it's best if we look around, see what new areas we like?" Jason replies.
"Maybe your right, maybe moving is the best thing for us at this point." My mum agrees.
Wait.
What?
Moving?
I sit up in bed, trying to get my head around what I've just heard.
What are they on about moving? Yes is not nice what happened here, and no I don't like my dad knowing where we life- but all my friends are here, this place is all I've ever known.
I grab my phone off the bedside table and check the time. 9am. Thank god it's Saturday, after that long week two days off is defiantly needed.
I push back my covers and climb out of bed, checking my arms in the process. Bruises- just like I thought there would be.
I shuffle downstairs and into the kitchen. My mum is giving Archie some juice and Jason is feeding Leela. It's like they never had the conversation that I heard.
"Morning sweetie!" My mum smiles. "Pancakes?"
"Um, yeah, yes please." I reply, giving a faint smile.
"How are you feeling?" Jason asks turning around to face me.
"As good as I can be." I sigh.
I hope lots of people don't ask me that question. I just want to forget about it and move on, it happened when I was younger and it's happened again- I've just got to live with it now, it can't be undone.
"Are you doing anything today?" Mum asks, passing me a plate with 3 pancakes on.
"Um, nope, haven't got anything planned." I say shaking my head. "I was just going to watch Netflix in bed all day!"
"Sounds like a decent plan!" Jason chuckles, taking Leela out of the high chair.
Once I've finished my breakfast, I trudge back upstairs and change out of my pyjamas and into some adidas joggers and a plain black vest top. I pull on some fluffy socks and tie my hair up into a messy bun.
I cleanse my face and leave it bare- don't need to apply makeup if I'm staying in bed.
"Sophia!" My mum calls from downstairs.
"Yeah?" I call back.
"Me and Jason are going out, we are taking Leela, but Archie didn't want to come. Are you okay to watch him?"
"Yeah, sure! See you soon." I say before heading back into my room.
I get out my MacBook Air and turn it on, clicking onto Netflix. I decide on 'orange is the new black'.
Halfway through the first episode my phone vibrates amongst the covers. It's Perri!

To Perri 🙈: heyy! And yeah I'm okay 💛x
I lock my phone and get back to the episode. It's such a good programme. At around 12 o'clock I minimise Netflix and head downstairs to check on Archie.
"Do you want some food arch?" I ask, popping my head around the living room door.
"Yes please!" His cheeky face says, turning to look at me.
I head into the kitchen and begin making him a sandwich. Ham and cheese- his favourite!
I'm cutting up his sandwich into little triangles when there's a knock at the door. I place down the knife and furrow my eyebrows.
I leave the kitchen and head into the hallway, placing my hand around the handle and pulling it open.
"OMG!" I say jumping into a tight hug. "Why are you here?!" I ask, shocked.
"After last night, I thought you might need some company." Perri says, a bright smile across his face.
"Thankyou." I say gratefully, letting him in.
I close the front door and pull Perri into another hug. I'm so shocked he's here, but I'm glad because I really needed one of his hugs.
"I'm so glad your here." I say kissing him quickly.
"I'm glad I'm here!" He replies, making me chuckle.
We head into the kitchen and I finish making Archie's lunch. I take it into the living room and place it on the coffee table in front of him.
"Me and Perri will be upstairs, call me if you need anything." I say, distracting him from the TV. "Are you going to me okay?"
"Yes sissy!" He nods.
I head upstairs, Perri following me. We going into my bedroom and I flop onto the bed, Perri copying.
"Nice room!" He says looking around.
"Thanks." I chuckle. "I forgot you hadn't seen it!" I say, opening Netflix back up.
"Ooo, what you watching?" He asks, putting his arm around my shoulder.
"I was watching orange is the new black but now I'm thinking a film." I say scanning the recently added films.
We decide on get hard that has Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell in it.
I snuggle closer to Perri and he squeezes me tighter. I look up and plant a soft kiss on his lips.
This would happen more often if we lived closer.
"I overheard my mum and Jason talking about moving." I say breaking the quietness.
"What? When?" Perri says looking down at me.
"This morning when I woke up. They said something about maybe it's the best thing for us." I say shrugging.
"Oh, I'm sure nothing will come of it." He says twirling a strand of my hair.
We stay curled up in the covers for hours before my mum and Jason come back home.
I pause the episode of Benidorm we are watching and we head downstairs.
"Mum, Perri's here!" I say excitedly.
Perri and my mum both chuckle at my reaction.
"Hey Perri." My mum smiles.
"Hi Emma." Perri replies.
We grab ourselves some snacks before heading back upstairs and regaining our position on my bed. I place the laptop back onto my legs and snuggle closer into Perri.
I feel my eyes slowly closing as my head moves gently to his breathing. I relax and let my eyelids close.
