Chapter Twenty Six
———
Ryker
Raiden had Ylva's scruff in his mouth as we were walking back through the forest, away from Ylva's Gran. I growled in annoyance, 'She's going to be so pissed at you when she wakes up!' I said.
'Well, I'm so pissed at her at the moment. How dare she run away like that!'
'Sometimes I think you are too possessive.' I sighed and stared at her apparent brother. Raiden gave me the control and we shifted back, carrying Ylva's wolf in our arms, "Are you her real brother?"
"Yes." he mumbled, staring at Ylva almost apologetically.
"How do you know this?"
"We have the same parents." He said in a 'duh' tone, causing me to send a warning growl. He sighed, "We are twins. But I have more vampire whereas Ylva has more wolf, like our Dad." He sighed, stumbling weakly over tree roots as Reece kept his hold on him.
"But why have you never come to find her?" I asked. I saw his eyes flash guilt and sadness.
"It was to protect her."
My full attention was now on Clyde. His body features slumped when he talked about having to protect Ylva and I noticed his eyes fill with water, as if he was remembering something he didn't want to know, "Protect her from what?" I asked, craddling Ylva as she shifted back to human form. She made Raiden so mad. I thought at one point he was going to kill her!
'I would never dare!' He hissed.
'Yeah but now you've probably frightened the life out of her!' Her slight shiver told me that Lucine and Misty were afraid too. I never wanted my mate to be afraid of me. Where has 'us' gone?
'Misty isn't speaking to me.' he whimpered.
'Yeah because you hurt her, threatened her family and almost killed her!' I yelled.
"From the men." Clyde eventually answered.
"What men?"
He sighed. I saw his muscles tense as he glared at me. If Clyde wasn't Ylva's brother he would be dead, "The men that abused her!" He yelled. "Men that killed our parents in front of her, the ones who basically ruined her childhood!" He snapped.
I froze and stared down at my mate. She's been through more than shes told. Ylva kept something that big from me?
'She was afraid.' Raiden said.
'And you know this... how?' I snarled.
'One, it's obvious and two, Lucine's talking to me.' he sighed, 'A bit.'
"I couldn't protect her. I know I was younger but..." Clyde sniffed. He suddenly shifted. He has a wolf? I thought he was mostly vampire.
"How do you have a wolf?" I stared down at a smaller version of Ylva's wolf, at least half the size. But he had more black in his fur.
'I don't know.' Clyde sighed through the link, 'Forgive me for shifting. Sometimes I can't control it.'
I looked towards the pack house, where we were running towards. It was quiet when we arrived, most likely everyone was asleep. I knew Ylva would hate me even more if I made her brother sleep in the cells, "You can sleep in a guest room across from your cousin." I sighed.
'Cousin?'
"Yes, Aden. 8Faith left the other day."
'Faith?'
"Yeah. Well she's not your proper cousin. Your aunt found her and adopted her."
'Wow. You know more about my own family than I do.' He sighed.
"Reece, take Clyde the room opposite Aden." My Beta nodded and beckoned Clyde forward to follow him.
'Someone's coming to get her and someone in this pack knows who.' was the last thing Clyde spoke. He blocked the link, leaving me confused, angry and unanswered.
I knew who. I could tell who knew. But that's for another day. Sometime soon that bitch will pay.
'I don't want Ylva escaping again.' Raiden muttered, ignoring Clyde's words.
'No! I am not doing that!' I growled, already knowing what he was planning.
'Do it or I will. And I'm not very gentle!' He snarled.
'Fine! Only for the night though! I don't want Ylva to hate me more than she does.' I sighed. Most people follow their inner wolf. I do within reason.
'This isn't to make Ylva hate us! This is to make her understand!' Raiden huffed before hiding at the back of my mind.
I trudged up to my room and set Ylva on the bed. Pulling off her clothes, I dressed her in one of my shirts before going to my walk-in closets and opening a draw, 'I really don't want to do this.' I sighed, running my hand through my hair.
'Do it or I do.' Raiden warned. I growled lowly at him. If I didn't do it, at any opportunity he would. And he wouldn't be very kind.
'Fine! But you can deal with a pissy she-wolf!' I hissed. I took out the chain and brought them out, 'And I'm only doing one!'
'Fine.' Raiden snarled before blocking me completely. I connected a cuff to Ylva's wrist and wrapped the chain around the leg of the bed, making sure it was long enough so she could get to the on suite. She's never going to forgive me, I sighed before locking it all. I don't think she can get out of this.
I stared at Ylva. She was sleeping so peacefully yet so restlessly. She was so beautiful. She would hate me for going this, not even my dad would. What kind of man have I become? No, what kind of mate have I become?
I sighed, leaning down and placed a longing kiss on her cheek, "Please forgive me, baby girl." she stirred but didn't wake up.
I walked out my room and into Maisy's. Wow, I should have knocked. I saw Aden and Maisy making out, Aden laying between my sister legs. Now, usually I may have gone all 'big brother' on them but I was not in the mood to deal with that. I quickly shot out the door before they could notice and shivered.
Ugh, someone remind me to knock next time! But I really wish that would be me and Ylva sometime soon.
Maisy
(One hour before Ryker walked in)
I sighed and slumped next to my mate. Everything about him I loved. His eyes, his personality, his muscles. He was always there for me, hugging and kissing me when I needed it.
Ylva had been brought back just now and Ryker didn't look happy. She rested tensely in his arms but she was asleep. I guess things didn't go to well. I knew that my brother wanted to keep her safe but Ylva still needed some form of freedom - Raiden was just going to have to deal with that.
I kissed Aden, trying to ignore the world. He groaned against my lips, his hands making their way down to my waist and pulling me closer. I clambered over him, my hands on each of his cheeks. Forcefully, but passionately, kissing his lips, I moaning slightly. He gripped my waist and hauled me over his shoulder, leaving me to gasp and squeal.
"Aden! Put me down, you big bully." I shouted, playfully punching his shoulder. He chuckled and made his way upstairs. I loved his laugh, it made him seem so carefree. Aden kicked open a door and threw me on my bed.
He clambered between my legs and kissed me again, "Aden." I moaned.
"Maisy?" I loved the way my name rolled from his mouth.
I hummed in response, kissing his face and running my hands through his short hair. Aden's lips made his way towards my ear, nibbling on it softly, "Can I make you mine?" he asked, whispering softly.
My breathing hitched. Hetty went crazy, running around like a mad old lady, 'Let him do it! Let him do it!' She cried.
"G-Go ahead Aden... I'm all yours." I smiled.
My mate flashed me a grin before nibbling down to my neck, pulling back slightly. My eyes widened a little when his incisors extended, "Relax, baby. I won't let anything hurt you." he mumbled before a sharp pain shot through my neck. I whimpered, digging my nails into his shoulder, pulling him closer to me with my legs wrapped around his torso.
Aden retracted his teeth and licked the mark. I moaned against his shoulder, my hands trailed across his tense back, massaging gently, "Thank you, baby. I love you." he smirked at me, kissing my lips.
"I love you too." I answered as he wrapped himself around me and we drifted off to sleep.
