Chapter 10 |
S a m a n t h a s p o v

My alarm goes off and I slowly sit up. I look at my phone it's 6:45 AM, so it's time for me to get ready for school. I'm still super tired because I went to sleep at 3AM last night. Even though I only got three hours of sleep, and I feel like sleeping forever, I get up and go into the bathroom.

I brush my teeth and take a shower. After I'm finished showering I put on some gray jeans and white hoodie.

Next I do my hair. I Blow dry it and leave it down naturally curly. I put on my glasses and walk out of the bathroom. I make sure my room is clean, then grab my book bag and go downstairs.

As soon as I walk into the kitchen and sit at the table. My mom hands me a plate of bacon and eggs and a glass of orange juice.

"Good Morning Mom." I say.

As I wait for her to respond I shove a piece of bacon into my mouth and take a sip of Orange Juice.

"Good Morning Samantha, how was the party?" She says.

As soon as I hear what she said I start choking on my bacon.

Oh my gosh? She knows I went to the party with Jace?

I drink some more Orange juice to stop my choking. "Mom how'd you know I went to the party?" I ask.

She smiles. "I watched you and Jace sneak out. He's so cute. I was squealing when he caught you when you jumped, and you held onto him for so long. You two are so cute, it's just too much to handle." My mom says.

My mom is becoming a fangirl make it stop.

A confused look comes over my face. "So your not mad?"

"Oh honey, I'm not mad at all. I know Jace is good boy and would never hurt you. And, I know that you're very responsible and would never do anything wrong. I trust you Samantha. Plus, every teenager needs that wild party experience." She says.

I hug her. "Thanks mom."

"Your welcome Honey. Oh and this can be are little secret. Your dad is coming home from his business trip today."

I smile. "I can't wait to see him."

I look at my phone, it's about time for me to go to school.

I grab my stuff start and walking to the door.

Before I walk out the door I turn towards my mom. "Oh and Jace and I are just friends, Mom."

She grins and winks at me. "Not for long"

I roll my eyes and walk out the door.

AT SCHOOL

As soon as I reach the third floor I go to my locker. After I finish putting my stuff away I close my locker and I see Jace. Before I can say anything he hugs me.

Well this is new?

I awkwardly hug back. Jace breaks the hug and smiles at me.

I laugh. "Why are you smiling?"

He smiles harder. "Thank you! You saved me."

I tilt my head. "Saved you how?"

"I didn't get in trouble this morning!" He says.

"Get in trouble for what?" I ask.

"The party!" He yells.

I smile. "What party?"

"Sam you know you remember the party." Jace says.

I laugh. "Yeah I remember. I was just kidding."

"The last thing I remember from last night is getting drunk. I'm still a bit hungover." He says scratching his head.

"How'd you know it was me that cared for your intoxicated self, and not some stranger?" I say.

"Danny showed me this picture."

"What picture?" I ask.

Jace pulls out his phone and shows me the picture. It's a picture of me sitting on the steps with Jace sitting next to me sleeping with his head on my lap.

I smile at the picture.

Jace laughs. "Aren't we cute?"

Before I could respond to what Jace said one of his football friends call his name and he goes over to talk to them.

As he walks away I smile.

Yeah Jace, we are cute.

IN SCIENCE CLASS

"Now class today, you and your lab partner will be dissecting a frog." Mr. Griffin says.

I hear a lot of people say. "Ewww."

"Everyone go ahead and put on your lab coats and gloves." Mr. Griffin says.

I reach under the desk and grab me and Jace's supplies.

I hand him his lab coat and he puts it on.

"Thanks Sam." He says.

"No problem." I reply.

He puts on one glove, looks at me and grins.

"Oh and I almost forgot, Sam we're going back to the mall today." He says.

"For what?" I ask.

He puts on the other glove. "To work on your wardrobe."

"What's wrong with the way I dress?" I say offended.

"Nothing actually. I like the way you dress it's casual and calm, but I don't know if Billy does." Jace says.

I nod.

Mr. Griffin walks over to our lab station and gives us our frog.

Jace looks at me. "So do you wanna cut it open Or?"

I look at the frog lying there. I can't cut it open I love animals.

"You can cut it open." I finally say.

Jace picks up the knife and slowly starts cutting the frog open. I cover my eyes and look away.

Good thing I have Jace as a lab partner.

AT THE MALL

As soon as we walk into the mall Jace leads me to the second floor and into this department store.

He stops walking and looks at me. He grins. "Ya ready?"

"For what?" I ask.

"For everything." He smile.

"What? that doesn't even mak-

Jace grabs a hand full of clothes off of a rack and piles them in my arms.

I struggle to hold up all the clothes.

"Go try it on!" Jace insists.

Before I can answer Jace gets behind me and pushes me into the dressing room.

While Sam is changing I sit down on the bench right across from the dressing room.

Soon she comes out in this plaid red skirt with a yellow shirt and some disco boots.

I burst out laughing. "That's horrible."

She rolls her eyes and then goes back into the dressing room.

This time Sam walks out in a blue jump suit, with a red rain coat on.

I laugh again "You look like a sailor, who went broke."

She laughs and then goes back into the dressing room. This time she takes longer to change.

I decide to get on my phone while I wait.

5 minutes later....

"Well?"

I look up from my phone and my mouth goes dry. Sam is wearing this gorgeous black dress, her hair is down and her glasses are off.

She laughs. "Don't just stare at me? How do I look?"

I clear my throat. "Y-You look good Sam"

Sam turns around and looks in the mirror she twists around and then looks back at me.

"You really think I look good?" She asks.

I smile. "I'd never lie to you Sam, you look amazing."

I see her blush. I feel chills. I quickly shake them away.

"You should buy the dress." I say.

She looks down. "I don't know, maybe another day."

She walks back into the dressing room and changes. Soon she comes out dressed like her normal self again.

"It's getting pretty late, we should go." Sam says. I nod.

AT SAMANTHA'S HOUSE

|S a m a n t h a s p o v

"Well your home." Jace says.

I nod. "Yeah looks like I am."

I get out the car and start walking to my door.

"Sam!" I here Jace call from behind me. He runs up to me.

He smiles. "I just thought I'd walk you to your door."

I smile. "Thanks."

We walk to my door together.

"Well bye Sam." Jace says with his hands in his pockets.

"Bye Jace." I say.

He turns away and starts walking back to his car.

"Jace wait!" I yell.

I turn around and run up to him. I grab his wrist and pull him with me as I run behind my house and into the woods.

Soon we're where I wanted us be. We're at my favorite place. I take him over to the giant rock I always sit on when I need to think. We sit down and look into the starry night sky.

"What is this place?" Jace says quietly.

"It's my hide out. I've always come here when I needed to think. You're the only one that knows about it other than me." I say softly.

Jace looks at me. "Wow it's really cool out here."

I look into his eyes. "You can't tell anyone about this place, Okay? You have to promise."

He smiles. "I promise."

"I think you're ready to go on a date with Billy." Jace says.

I tilt my head and start speaking really fast. "Are you crazy? I have no idea what to do on a date! What if he holds my hand? What if he smiles at me? What if he kisses me?"

Jace laughs. "If he kisses you just do this..." Jace grabs my chin and smashes his lips against mine. By surprise I kiss back. I don't really how to do this.

This is my first kiss.

Jace kisses me harder and I do the same. His lips move in sync with mine. I feel his tongue slip inside of my mouth. I wrap my arms around his neck and he deepens the kiss. Soon I break away for air.

Woah that was heated.

I unwrap my arms from around his neck and punch him in the arm. "Why would you just kiss me?"

He laughs while holding his arm. "Ouch. Sam I know what you're doing. You're just acting mad to hid the fact that you liked the kiss. But I planned it. I knew you had never kissed a guy before so, I had to show you how to do it right."

I punch his arm again laughing. "How could you?"

He smiles. "How couldn't I?"

We get up off the rock and walk back to my house. We walk up to my door.

"Goodnight Jace." I say.

"Goodnight Sam." Jace says. He pulls me in for a hug. His warm arms slowly snake around my waist. I let go and walk into my house. I watch Jace's car drive away through the window.

I run up to my room and plop on my bed.

I smile while thinking about the kiss. I did like it. It was magical. Could there be a possibility that I'm in love with the wrong guy?

I think about Billy. Billy isn't the wrong guy. I've loved him forever. I quickly brush the kiss away, it meant nothing. Jace would never like me.

| J a c e s p o v

As soon as I get home I go to my room and lay on my bed.

I smile while thinking about the kiss. I lied to her. I didn't plan the kiss. I did it because I wanted to. Could there be a possibility that I'm in love with someone, who is in love with someone else?

I think about Billy. Sam is in love with Billy. I quickly brush the kiss away, it meant nothing. Sam would never like me.
