I was in bed so into my book when my sister and Jane came into the room.
“Seriously you’re still like that? You have a party in two hours, what the hell are you doing still in bed?” Sam said. What am I supposed to do? As they said the party was in two hours, do I have to dress up right now?
“Mmm… reading?”
“You’re supposed to be in the shower right now. Come one, we have lots to do”
“What? Wait, what are you gonna do?” I asked them.
“Since your sister told me, you don’t have… let’s say… you’re not very fashionable and those stuff, we’re here to help you, thank us later darling” I couldn’t believe these girls. So they were telling me I wasn’t fashionable.
“I’m fashion, in my own style”
“Leah, this shirt was fashion ages ago” my sister said. “Although you’re going to keep your own style we’re gonna make it more fashion, just trust us, we know what we’re doing ok?” I shut up myself because somehow I trusted my sister and Jane. I’ve seen her get dress and she had a very beautiful taste in fashion and her hair always looked amazing so I didn’t hesitate, and to be honest, maybe I would need a little bit of help.
I did what they told me, got in the shower again and wash my hair. Then I wrapped my body in the towel and walked in the room where Jane and Sammy where playing with my clothes to find the perfect outfit.
“Leah, where do you have your accessorizes?”
“Over there” I pointed. I sat on the chair while I was looking at them working on my outfit.
“Seriously, this is all you got” I nodded and frowned my eyes. Am I supposed to have more or…?
“Sam, go to my room and grab that box I have with accessorizes, maybe we can do something” she nodded and walked out of the room.
I kept quite not sure what to say because I wasn’t so into fashion.
“Where did you buy this Leah?” Jane asked me.
“Ermm… that was from my grandma I think?” suddenly I saw her cut the jeans with the scissors and I freaked out.
“What are you doing?!” I shouted.
“Hey calm down pretty girl, trust me, they will look good after this. I made this jeans by myself” she pointed to her denims and I sat again on the chair. I could let these girls control what I wear? Seriously Leah… you’re doing so wrong.
Sam came back with a huge box in her hands. Inside of it there were millions of accessorizes I could tell, until they picked the best of them all for my outfit.
“Ok, now Leah we’re gonna do your hair and make up”
“Seriously, don’t mess up with my hair, don’t make it look bad”
“Leah, we cannot make it worst that already is, trust me” My mouth opened at what my sister had just said me.
“Ha ha, very funny Sam”
“Sorry” she said giggling. “No, but seriously, you gotta trust us”
“And I trust you, but you scare me ok” the girls laughed again and I was with my leg fidgeting on the seat while they were putting some cream on my face.
In a matter of seconds I was almost done. Two hands were better than one, so I quickly was ready.
“Ok, you’re almost done, just a little drops of perfume… Here… here… and over here for Brandon”
“What? I don’t like Brandon! Don’t make up things, ok? Brandon is a nice guy”
“Yeah he is, I’m not saying the contrary thing”
“Well, I just don’t like him. So just stop”
“Yes Leah” they both said at the same time.
“Come on, look yourself in the mirror” said Jane. I walked towards it and I turned around. I… I… I was beautiful! I gasped at that because I couldn’t believe two 14 years old girls made that and I was so utterly fashion disaster. I looked at my eyes perfectly in a smoky eye, the blush lighted up my features and the lipstick was a peachy colour that matched my skin.
“Wow… this is amazing”
“Do you trust us now?”
“Yeah, totally. I mean where did you learn this?” they lifted their shoulders like saying they didn’t know. I then grabbed my purse and looked at them.
“Thank you for this, you’re really amazing together” I said smiling at them.
“Have fun up there Leah” said my cousin hugging me.
“Thanks I will” I said.
“Yeah sis, you look incredible, I bet Brandon is gonna-“
“Shut up, I don’t like Brandon” I said giggling.
I then went downstairs because it was almost the time the girls were going to pick me up.
“Wow, Leah, you look stunning” said Max holding my hand and watching me carefully while I was spinning around myself so that he could watch.
“This is for Brandon?”
“Oh my God, you too? Again, I don’t like Brandon!!” this was already pissing me off, why can’t people understand that being nice is not like someone?
“Leave the poor girl alone” my aunt said giving me a smile.
“Thanks aunty” I said giving her a smile.
“Well, have fun you two ok? Don’t get two wasted, otherwise you’re not going to another summer party in the whole summer” she said. We said ok and went outside when my car and his car was waiting for us.
When we parked the car and got out of it I looked around the place. The boat was waiting for us decorating with millions and millions of tiny lights. I could hear the music come from it as we were coming closer to it. Millions of people were queuing outside to get into, so I was going to wait in the line when Bailey said.
“Come on Le, we’re VIP’s”
“Are we?” I asked surprise.
“Yeah, Kitty’s father here has his contacts” she said and she grabbed my hand guiding me towards the VIP line. We were soon inside the boat and I was freaking out. I bet this was better than that party I was going to go back home. This was amazing.
“Wow” I said when I got inside.
“What? Aren’t you used to these kind of things?”
“Not really” I said.
We went to the bar and ask for some drinks before going somewhere else to dance.
We were having so much fun dancing and goofing around when I spotted Brandon. He looked at me and I looked at him. He was making his way towards me and the girls noticed it.
“Hey, are you and Brandon…?”
“No, we’re nothing, we’re just kind of friends, that’s it” I said.
“Hey Leah, wow you look incredible” he said. I smiled and blushed a little bit. I’m not used to this kind of compliments.
“Thanks” I simply said. What am I supposed to say in these situations?
“So… how did the class go?” I asked him.
“It went well, after getting a little bit late though thanks to a beautiful girl”
“I’m sorry about that” I said blushing again. He shook his head and I had a sip of my drink while we stood quiet for some seconds.
“You know… you’re different, you’re not like everybody else”
“Is that a compliment or…?”
“Yeah, take it as a compliment”
“Thanks, I guess”
I spent the night talking to this guy, Brandon, as I was receiving some killing looks from the plastics, especially from Sarah. I swear I don’t like him, he was just being nice to me and I was being nice to him talking and sharing experiences that was all, but I don’t know how powerful is the brain of human beings, always making up things about other people when in reality is other kind of situation. They were walking towards us but I didn’t care.
“Hi Brandon”
“Hi” he said.
“Hi to you too” I said smiling to them.
“Leah… Oh, I saw one of your friends throwing up to the ocean in the deck, what a good friend are you? Talking to a boy instead of taking care of your friend… I think Katja needs your help”
“What? Isn’t she feeling ok?”
“Watch yourself” she said and pointing to the deck.
“Sorry Brandon, I gotta go, see you around!” I made my way to the deck and Kitty was feeling horrible.
“What happened?” I asked them.
“Too many drinks I think”
“Oh my God, I’m gonna grab a bottle of water or something for her” I said but it was so crowded that it was very difficult to move. I was stuck in the middle of the crowd and although I was tall enough I couldn’t see a single thing. Everybody was moving around me and I was starting to feel like if I was running out of air.
“Hey, put this box under it” said a guy I didn’t see in my life. And now it was me, stuck in the crowd with a heavy box in my hands. I needed to drop the box downstairs so I went where he told me.
I walked in the room and put the box in the ground. I needed air, I was feeling dizzy. I went to close the door because the music was so loud when suddenly someone said.
“No! Don’t close it!” but it was too late. I turned around and this curly haired boy what in front of me.
“What the hell are you doing?” he said.
“I’m closing the door because I’m feeling dizzy ok?”
“But didn’t you read the sign? The door is broken, not we’re locked in here”
“What!?” My eyes widened and I immediately felt panic.
“What’s wrong?” he asked me but I couldn’t answer him, I was running out of air.
“I- I can’t breath”
