I've had my fair share of bad days. Who hasn't? But out of all my bad days, this one had to be the worst.
My day started out seemingly normal. My alarm clock went off (late), I got up, dressed, then went to my first class, physics. Something I hated. But nonetheless, that's my normal, everyday routine. That was until my teacher held me behind after class in my last period of the day.
Mr. Papperman never seemed to like me from the beginning of the school year. I was a smart ass yeah, but he really, really, hated me. I hadn't even made it out of the class before he held me behind.
"Miss Carson you do know that you're failing my class. A 52 F you have and the highest test grade you have ever received was a 66. That is not acceptable." he explains as I stand in front of his desk, my arms crossed and a scowl on my face. 'You think I don't know this?'
"And? I'll take care of it. Just leave me alone." I say as I turn to walk off. Now this is where things go downhill. Way, way, downhill.
I walk off and as I went to open the door it suddenly locked on its own. That was definitely a red flag. I gasped, trying to open the door when he grabbed me, spinning me around and pinning me to the door, his hand closing tightly around my throat. I tried desperatly to breathe when I saw his eyes turn a dark, fiery red. Yet another red flag. I tried making out a scream, but nothing happened. Even when his hand started heating up and it looked as if his veins were glowing a red orange color.
So many red flags.
"Now, I'm not supposed to kill you yet. But even then I still have my own plans for you Natalia." he says, tightening his grip. "The War is coming and we can't have you messing things up. I want you dead but my boss would rather have you on our side. Which is-" then it happened. A loud banging came at the door. Papperman growled then and threw me to the side. I was thrown against the wall and landed to the floor, my vision now blurring as the door flew open, breaking from the hinges. That was then a man appeared.
Despite my situation and my vision, I couldn't help but think how attractive he was. Hopefully this was my savior.
I kept my eyes open, watching as, what looked like a black spark, appeared in the mans hand. He threw it at Papperman who dodged his attack and with that they began fighting. Eventually, the other man got a hold on my ex-teacher, and he began to look somewhat static-y. Until he disappeared completely. And I was left with this mysterious man who I called my savior.
He turned my way and started walking over. As he did, I felt something rising in my throat. 'Oh no. Not good.' Unfortunately, I couldn't keep it down so I sat slightly, and just let myself throw up. The man only walked faster towards me and knelt down, waiting until I was done.
When I was, I looked up at him and took the rag he was holding before wiping my mouth and setting it aside. With that he helped me up and it wasn't until I was on my feet that I blacked out completely. I was only hoping that he had caught me....
So yeah. What a day I was having. And to think it wasn't even over.
I was dreaming. Yeah. That's it. That's the explanation for all this craziness. I was gonna wake up any minute now and continue on with my life as if that dream had never happened. But, when I thought I had woken up, it wasn't in my own bed. It was in someone else's room. A nice one yes, but not mine.
I sat up quickly which resulted in the pounding of my head. "Son of a bitch!" I said and froze when the door knob turned and slowly started opening. I reached over immediately and grabbed the lamp off the table next to the bed and launched it at whoever begin walking in the door.
Now, I didn't expect this person to dodge it, or even catch it. But that's exactly what he did. He caught it before stepping inside. He seemed to be hiding a smile and this only made me want to throw the alarm clock at him. He kept his head down and walked over to the side of the bed, returning the lamp to its spot. Then he started speaking as he stood up straight, facing me.
"Now I know this is a little unexpected and you're probably scare but I promise that-" He didn't even get to finish what he was saying because I jumped off the bed and bolted out the door. I looked down both halls and went left. I ran as fast as I could and slammed into something. But there was nothing there. Yeah, I was definitely losing my mind.
I backed up and moved around whatever wasn't there before running toward a pair of double doors. I was hoping that was the exit but no, it wasn't. Instead, as soon as I busted through those doors I realized I was standing in the middle of a cafeteria. It was a pretty good size, nice and filled with a bunch of guys. I saw maybe four girls in all. There were some in the back, the kitchen.
The worst part was the fact that everyone was staring at me. Just silently staring. Just act natural. Escape later. So thats what I did. I casually walk towards the back and made myself a plate of steak, mashed potatoes and corn. Grabbing silverware I headed on my way to find a seat. Still, everyone's eyes were on me so at this point my head was straight forward. Then someone stuck their foot out and I tripped, falling face forward. The food didn't get all over my face, instead it covered my shirt. As soon as I stood up, I faced the one who had tripped me.
"What the he-" he only laughed and watched me with amused look.
"Maybe you should watch where you stick that foot of yours or I'll stick mine up your ass!" I said and suddenly he got lifted up by the back of his shirt. I then saw my savior. Whos name I still didn't know.
"Will. Put me the fuck down now." He said angrily.
"Stop being such a jackass Jaxon." 'Will' said smirking, throwing Jaxon to the ground. He huffed and got up, his face red with anger. He started to walk away but ran into what seemed like an invisible wall.
I looked closer and saw that it was shimmering and I narrowed my eyes.
He clenched his fists and I heard laughter coming from beside me. I jumped and turned to see a man there. He was doubled over laughing. He waved his hand and Jaxon walked off.
He turned to me, after he had composed himself and he stuck his hand out. "S'up. The names Walter." He said and surprisingly, I shook his hand. But before I could answer, he spoke again.
"Cornelius Walter Peterson." He added with a grin. I stopped and pulled my hand away. I had no words for what he just said. So, I turned to Will and gestured to my shirt.
"I'm gonna go get a shower and change. And when I get back, someone-" I paused and looked around, "better have some answers for me." I said and with that, I walked out.
