Ash:

Dean came back with a soaking shirt, and at first my first instinct was to ask what in the hell had happened...then I heard Amy and Sam laughing from over in the kitchen.

"I'll never surrender!" Sam exclaimed, his tone light and I smiled with a shake of my head. "You've been hit." I said putting the pieces of the puzzle together and he rolled his eyes. "Yeah." "You know, I'm the one with the hangover but you're the one acting like it." I told him sitting up and quickly drinking a bit of the soda to try and get rid of the nausea.

If this hangover didn't pass soon I was going to die.

Dean pulled off his flannel shirt with a small grunt before grabbing a gray t-shirt from one of the drawers. "You couldn't have changed in your room?" I questioned him with a small sigh. "What? You don't like it?" "Well you have to leave to go put it with the laundry anyhow so it's more of a hassle." I explained, with a shrug and he sighed. "Fine fine, you have a point."

He left to go throw it was the rest of the laundry, which would soon be doused and dripping with water because of Amy and Sam's little indoor water fight.

I looked down at my ratty clothes and cringed. If my first foster mother was here she'd take one look at me and go: "Sweetheart, bless your heart." Which roughly translates to: "Dear God you look terrible, get changed right now."

Lovely woman she was.

I pulled one one of the new long sleeve t-shirts I had bought with some skinny jeans and ran a hand through my hair. "Okay, now you look decent. If you went out in public people may not actually know your head feels like imploding." "You look a lot better than you did a few hours ago." Dean said from behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Well, you seem in a better mood." I commented, glancing over my right shoulder at him and he gave me a small shrug. "Well I'm out of my wet shirt, and you're up and running, life could be worse."

"How about we go somewhere? Fresh air, could be good for you." Dean said and I nodded in reply, it didn't sound like a bad idea to me.

Dean and I walked out, his arm around my shoulder and we passed Sam and Amy who were still at it with each other. Their laughter was a nice change.

"We're headed out." I said and Amy stopped and had a mix of expressions that flashed over her face in a matter of seconds before sighing. "Fine." "Is something wrong? It looked like you were having a good time." I noticed, confused by the sudden change of tone. "It's nothing. Go with your boyfriend."

The tone in her voice made it obvious that it wasn't, but I could also see she didn't want to talk about it at the moment. I'd have to ask her about it when we came back tonight.

"Okay." I replied trying to convey my thought to her but was unable to.

Dean and I figured we should just go for a quick walk through a trail in the woods in a nearby park. "Fresh air, no people, hopefully no Wendigos." Dean listed as we climbed into the Impala. "Hopefully, will I be given anything to defend myself if anything happens?" I asked him with a small laugh and he raised an eyebrow, "Do you know how to shoot a gun?" "Nope." "Then no, not for the moment." He retorted with a laugh, rolling his eyes.

It was a short drive, only twenty minutes away or so. Cars were relaxing for me so it wouldn't have mattered if it was twenty minutes away or twenty hours. Dean and I sang at the top of our lungs to a local classic rock radio station while not giving a damn if the people who passed us gave us weird eyes.

Finally, we got to the clearing in the woods where you could park your car and I stepped out. The cool fall air was surprisingly relaxing against my skin and I looked up at the cloudless baby blue sky.

The leaves were a palette of reds and golds, swirling slightly in the faint breeze. "Peaceful." I murmured, and Dean looked over at me as he walked around the car towards me. "You like the fall?" "Yeah, it's always been peaceful for me...winter is the bane of my existence so fall is like the calm before a storm." I explained with a small nod before feeling a wave of nauseousness.

At first I thought it was because of the hangover but then I felt

this odd feeling, like I was seeing myself from a third person perspective. Everything was frozen, including Dean.

"Ashley Hasley." A ghostly voice echoed around me, and I looked around but there wasn't anybody. "Who are you, what are you?" "God." the voice replied, and even for the show's standards this was a hard pill to swallow. "Well shit I guess I have a lot to answer to." I sighed.

God never seemed like a good prospect to me, yeah I know there's faith and shit that people talk about but to me it felt like if there was a God there would be less catastrophes happening in the world.

"Ah yes, I expected to get that reaction out of somebody of your nature." "God" said, and I rolled my eyes. "Somebody of my nature?" "Broken as humans put it. Anyhow, that 'rinky dink' spell as you so put it, didn't work for anybody else. I felt you, Amy, Sam, and Dean deserved a break." God told me and I sighed, "Millions of people die and you chose to help me?" "And Amy, and Sam, and Dean." he added with a small sigh, "Weren't you listening?" "Why are you telling me this? Why can't you just let me live in the first peace I've had in years?" I asked, throwing my hands up.

Then it hit me. "Unless you're here to warn me about something."

I could picture God nodding. "Yeah. Because I so graciously pulled you across realities into this one, the spell can only last for so long." "You're giving us the date which we'll have to go back then." I said, everything hitting me so quickly that I wasn't sure how to feel.

"Indeed." "So when is it you jackass?" I asked, my anger rising and he sighed, "A little over seven months." "How cruel could you be, bringing people to their true love only to tear them away again?" I asked, but already the voice was fading. "I'll see you soon, Ashley Hasley."

When I came to I was in the car speeding back to the bunker and Dean looked concerned as hell. "You're up, thank god." "God is a dick." I muttered, sitting up and feeling like my head was hit with a sledgehammer. "What happened?" He asked me, speeding up a little as the trees passed by us in a blur. "God happened, that so spell isn't for forever. Seven months from now you can kiss me goodbye." "Seven months?!" He asked, and I gave a small nod.

After twenty minutes, I had explained all of which I understood, and he sighed. "Seven months..." "I know, Dean, I know. I don't want to leave but it's God. However much of a shithead he is it's not like we can defy him." I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I looked out at sky above. "Fuck..." he muttered, and I nodded, "I know...how...do I tell Amy and Sam?" "I'll be there with you." Dean told me and I nodded.

You won't always be though...
