"Do you guys remember when we've all met?" I asked.
"Yeah..." Marco says.
I remember the first day, it was awkward... I only knew Janiza, Anaja, Kaylani, Jade, and Janessa... I knew Janiza, Kaylani, and Anaja from English last year. I saw Janessa in an incident that almost turned in a fight, and I tried to apologize to her, but I knew she would've just walked away. And Jade was known since elementary school in the 3rd grade.
"We're all known as the 2015- 2016 AVID family," Jordan says.
I felt completely sad... I missed the other students in that class... I wondered if our AVID teacher knew what was going on... Probably has no idea. He was probably teaching his History, and World Geography classes.
"I didn't know you guys... I would see Alondra, and Jordan around, but I never really talked to them," I said.
"I knew Janiza... I also knew some other people... But I... I was never the person to come out and speak to people..." I said.
"It's okay..." Janiza says.
"What do you mean, never speak out to people?" Janessa asks.
"I was never good at making friends... And if I ever tried to be friends with someone, it would take time... Patience," I said.
"It's like me... I was very quiet in the past, but now I'm open," Jade says.
"But look at you know..." Jordan says.
"Yeah... You're amazing..." Marco says.
"Wow... I guess I feel better now..." I say.
"How about you, Marco?" Caleb asks.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"Well I'm still trying to not see the monster in you," Janiza says.
"Wow, that nice," Marco says.
"It's not that. We all know you're stubborn and gain friends quickly," I say.
"Wow that about sums me up," Marco says.
"Well it's not that, it's just that you won't tell us," Jordan says.
He was silent for a few seconds. I kept on looking at Marco for a response. Nothing. But then Marco sighs, "People get on my damn nerves," He says.
"Well there's a similarity between you and Alan," Janiza says.
I look at Janiza with my eyes wide open, "Janiza!" I say embarrassed.
"Well it's not bad... I mean that's just one thing I really like about you," Janiza says.
"I hate people for reasons," I say.
"Like what?" Marco leans back crossing his arms.
"I hate people by their personalities. If they don't talk to me... And if they betray you, or even get jealous of you!!!" I say.
"Who are you referring to?" Janiza asks.
"I won't say names... But I'm not friends with this person anymore because... They literally betrayed me. We've known each other since the first grade, and that person was the first friend I've made that first day... We called each other step- siblings... So we were both very close... But when they create a new friend, that they've just known for a year, and they trust and believe them more than you..." I said.
"They believed that girl. A girl they've know since last year, and they betray you by not believing in you, but the other person... When I've known them for a few years. I almost got suspended because of what happened... I got called up to the Dean's office for threatening a dumbass! So I went my way, and left" I finished.
"Is that the story you've told Alondra, Jade, and I?" Janiza asks.
I nod my head. I told them because I knew I'd trust them, because they weren't assholes like that dumbass.
"Marco, will you betray us like Joselyn did?" Jordan asks.
"Wow... You've just hurt my feelings," Marco says.
"Jordan!" Janiza yells hitting Jordan on his right shoulder.
"Sorry... I was being curious," Jordan says while laughing.
"We should get some rest," Janessa says.
"You're right. I'll take first watch, but another person needs to help me," I said.
"I'll do it," Janiza says raising her hand.
"Alright, I'll see you all in the morning," Marco says.
They all found a place around the fire to sleep. They slept on the floor, while Janiza and I took watch for the night.
